  • In this paper, the multiplicative algorithm of two polynomials over finite field GF(($p^{m}$) is presented. Using the presented algorithm, the multiple-valued multiplier of the serial input-output modular structure by CCD is constructed. This multiple-valued multiplier on CCD is consisted of three operation units: the multiplicative operation unit, the modular operation unit, and the primitive irreducible polynomial operation unit. The multiplicative operation unit and the primitive irreducible operation unit are composed of the overflow gate, the inhibit gate and mod(p) adder on CCD. The modular operation unit is constructed by two mod(p) adders which are composed of the addition gate, overflow gate and the inhibit gate on CCD. The multiple-valued multiplier on CCD presented here, is simple and regular for wire routing and possesses the property of modularity. Also. it is expansible for the multiplication of two elements on finite field increasing the degree mand suitable for VLSI implementation.

  • A new three-dimensional transition solid element was presented for the automated three-dimensional adaptive h-refinement or the local mesh refinement where the steep stress gradient exists. The proposed transition element was established by adding variable nodes(element nodes) to basic 8-node for an effective connection between the refined region and the coarse region with minimum degrees of freedom possible. To be consistent in accuracy with 8-node solid element with nonconforming modes, this transition element was also improved through the addition of the modified nonconforming modes. Numerical examples show that the performance of the element and the applicability to 3D adaptations are satisfactory.

  • The notion of the generalized Fibonacci matrix $\mathcal{F}_n^{(a,b,s)}$ of type s, whose nonzero elements are generalized Fibonacci numbers, is introduced in the paper [23]. Regular case s = 0 is investigated in [23]. In the present article we consider singular case s = -1. Pseudoinverse of the generalized Fibonacci matrix $\mathcal{F}_n^{(a,b,-1)}$ is derived. Correlations between the matrix $\mathcal{F}_n^{(a,b,-1)}$ and the Pascal matrices are considered. Some combinatorial identities involving generalized Fibonacci numbers are derived. A class of test matrices for computing the Moore-Penrose inverse is presented in the last section.

  • We first find strongly 2-primal rings whose sub direct product is not (strongly) 2-primal. Moreover we observe some kinds of ring extensions of (strongly) 2-primal rings. As an example we show that if R is a ring and M is a multiplicative monoid in R consisting of central regular elements, then R is strongly 2-primal if and only if so is $RM^{-1}$. Various properties of (strongly) 2-primal rings are also studied.

  • The progressive collapse analysis of reinforced concrete (RC) moment-frame buildings under extreme loads is discussed from the perspective of modeling issues. A threat-independent approach or the alternate path method forms the basis of the simulations wherein the extreme event is modeled via column removal scenarios. Using a prototype RC frame building, issues and considerations in constitutive modeling of materials, options in modeling the structural elements and specification of gravity loads are discussed with the goal of achieving consistent models that can be used in collapse scenarios involving successive loss of load-bearing columns at the lowest level of the building. The role of the floor slabs in mobilizing catenary action and influencing the progressive collapse response is also highlighted. Finally, an energy-based approach for identifying the proximity to collapse of regular multi-story buildings is proposed.

  • The structural design requirements of an offshore platform subjected to wave induced forces and moments in the jacket can play a major role in the design of the offshore structures. For an economic and reliable design; good estimation of wave loadings are essential. A nonlinear response analysis of a fixed offshore platform under structural and wave loading is presented, the structure is discretized using the finite element method, wave plus current kinematics (velocity and acceleration fields) are generated using 5th order Stokes wave theory, the wave force acting on the member is calculated using Morison's equation. Hydrodynamic loading on horizontal and vertical tubular members and the dynamic response of fixed offshore structure together with the distribution of displacement, axial force and bending moment along the leg are investigated for regular and extreme conditions, where the structure should keep production capability in conditions of the 1-yr return period wave and must be able to survive the 100-yr return period storm conditions. The result of the study shows that the nonlinear response investigation is quite crucial for safe design and operation of offshore platform.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel architecture, which is based on DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform), for ME (Motion Estimation) and MC (Motion Compensation). The traditional algorithms of ME and MC based on DCT did not suffer the advantage of the coarseness of the 2-dimensional DCT (2-D DCT) coefficients to reduce the operational time. Therefore, we derive a recursion equation for transform-domain ME and MC and design the structure by using highly regular, parallel, and pipeline processing elements. The main difference with others is removing the IDCT block by using to transform domain. Therefore, the performance of our algorithm is more efficient in practical image processing such as DVR (Digital Video Recorder) system. We present the simulation result which is compare with the spatial domain methods. it shows reducing the calculation cost. compression ratio. and peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR).

  • As device dimensions shrink, it is increasingly important to develop fabrication methods that can create sub-15 nm features of regular or arbitrary geometry in a rapid, parallel, and efficient process. This talk will discuss approaches based on self-assembling hybrid polymers containing Si. The thin films of those materials systems can generate well-ordered periodic arrays of dots or lines. For achieving, long-range ordering, it is helpful to use lithographically-defined templates, which are in general much larger than the length-scale of self-assembled nanostructures. For example, the self-assembly of polymer nanostructures can easily be templated using an array of nanoscale topographical elements that act as guiding templates or surrogates for one of two microdomains. The solvent-vapor-induced tunability of pattern dimension and morphology will be discussed as well. Those material systems can excellently serve for high-precision self-assembly that can provide good resolution, reliability, and controllability and be considered as an option for a future nanomanufacturing technology.

  • Block matching motion estimation is the most widely used method for motion compensated coding of image sequences. Based on a two dimensional systolic array, VLSI architecture and implementation of the full search block matching algorithm are described in this paper. The proposed architecture improves conventional array architecture by designing efficient processing elements that can control the data prodeuced by efficient search window division method. The advantages are that 1) it allows serial input to reduce pin counts for efficient composition of local memories but performs parallel processing. 2) It is flexible and can adjust to dimensional changes of search windows with simple control logic. 3) It has no idel time during the operation. 4) It can operate in real/time for low and main level in MPEG-2 standard. 5) It has modular and regular structure and thus is sutiable for VLSI implementation.

  • The reliability analysis is of great importance in their design since offshore towers are high-cost and high-risk structures. The design of platforms in the marine environment depends on results of the dynamic behavior of the structure during earthquakes and storm wave conditions. this paper presents results of an analytical study on evaluating dynamic response of steel jacket modelled by space frame elements. program $\boxDr$OFSPC$\boxUl$for the linear and nonlinear dynamic analysis of steel jacket platform has been developed using FORTRAN 90 programing language through the present study. Free vibration and dynamic behavior of steel jackets under regular and irregular wave and earthquake force are investigated using this program
