Water problems recently, not only influence environmental issues such as water quality and water management but also influence socioeconomic issues such as poverty, gender, and regional conflicts. Therefore there is increasing attention on water education as part of the environmental education. Yet water education in formal education is only treated with particular subjects like science and social studies with limited contents which fails to cover the social, economic problems related to water thoroughly. Also, though there is an active water education on the field of informal education. its contents are also very limited. Water education requires the implementation of a comprehensive and holistic approach that can holistically consider economic and social problems as well as environmental problems. Therefore in this research, 'water education for sustainable development' is set up as a direction of contents development which include interdisciplinary and holistic aspects. Contents development of water education for sustainable development is an reflection of the experts and teacher's opinions and contain of: main category dividing into three pillars of sustainable development such as environment, economy, and society, and subcategory covering environmental science's objective including knowledge, skill, attitude, and action as well as local, national, regional, and global issues.

Present study examined the functionality of the solitary wave (tsunami) control of the two-rowed porous submerged breakwater by numerical experiments, using a numerical wave tank which is based on the Navier-Stokes equation to explain fluid fields and uses a Volume of Fluid (VOF) method to capture the free water surface. Solitary wave was generated by the internal wave source installed within the computational zone in the numerical wave tank and its wave transformations by structure were compared with those in the previous study. Comparisons with the precious numerical results showed a good agreement. Based on these results, several tow-dimensional numerical modeling investigations of the water fields, including wave transformations, reflection, transmission and energy flux, by the one- and two-rowed permeable submerged breakwater under solitary waves were performed. Even if, it is a research of the limited scope, in case of two-rowed permeable submerged breakwater with $h_0/h=0.925$ ($h_0$ is height of submerged breakwater and h is water depth), the wave height damping in range of $l/L_{eff}>0.4$($L_{eff}$ is effective distance of solitary wave) can reach nearly 60% of the incident wave height. In addition, it is found that reflection coefficient increases nearly 47% and transmission coefficient decreases nearly 18% than one-rowed one. The numerical results revealed that the tow-rowed submerged breakwater can control the incident solitary wave economically and more efficiently than the one-rowed one.

This is an implementation study towards the development of a strategy to improve the pneumonia adequacy evaluation index of regional public hospital and to confirm its effectiveness. One physician, eight nurses, one computer room staff, and one nursing professor working at a regional base public hospital located in N city participated in this study from March to October 2021. An implementation study was conducted based on the conceptual model of Zuber-Skerritt & Fletcher. The stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection were operated in two cycles, and the effectiveness was evaluated in the second and third quarters. Compared to the pneumonia adequacy evaluation index in 2019, all indicators reached 100% of the standard target in 2021. The results of this study therefore infer that to provide higher quality medical services in the future, it is necessary to apply medical quality improvement activities through practical research under multidisciplinary participation and cooperation and to review the applicability of clinical sites.
Macrolide antimicrobial agents including erythromycin, roxithromycin, clarithromycin, and azithromycin are commonly used in the treatment of respiratory tract infections in children. Newer macrolides that have structural modifications of older drug erythromycin show improved change in the spectrum of activity, dosing, and administration. However, recent studies reported that increasing use of macrolide antibiotics is the main force driving the development of macrolide resistance in streptococci. In particular, azithromycin use is more likely to select for macrolide resistance with Streptococcus pneumoniae than is clarithromycin use, a possible reflection of its much longer half life. Recently, erythromycin resistance rates of S. pneumoniae and Streptococcus pyogenes are rapidly increasing in Korea. Two main mechanisms of acquired macrolide resistance have been described, altered binding site on the bacterial ribosome encoded by the ermB gene and active macrolide efflux pump encoded by the mef gene. Relationship between the susceptibility of S. pneumoniae and the response to macrolides has been shown in studies of acute otitis media, but less clear in cases of pneumonia. This article reviews the spectrum of activity, pharmacokinetic properties, mechanisms of action and resistance, and clinical implication of resistance on the treatment of respiratory tract infections in children.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify and describe illness experiences of men with myocardial infarction. Methods: Data were collected through individual in-depth interviews with 10 male patients. Analysis was done using phenomenological analysis. Results: Five theme clusters including 11 themes emerged. 1) "Unexpected grave disease instantly dividing life and death" describes the great ignorance of symptoms and experience as a survivor narrowly escaping death. 2) "A disease still not considered a disease" illustrates the paradoxical and confusing situation between low level of awareness of the severity of the disease and high level of reflection on their unhealthy lifestyles. 3) "Fighting against me for health" illustrates their resolution and action to maintain health while experiencing helplessness. 4) "Relationships in a no-win situation" contains defensive posture due to social stigma and the dilemma of family breadwinners. And 5) "Introspection of past and future life" describes positive turnings in life through enlightenment in addition to remorseful feeling about the past and persistent worry of death. Conclusion: Health professionals need to support men with myocardial infarction by providing family-oriented and empowerment-based self-management interventions to lead to success in their illness journey and to improve their quality of life.
The paper presents a study aimed at understanding some characteristics of an interior explosion within a room with limited or no venting. The explosion may occur in ammunition storage or result from a terrorist action or from a warhead that had penetrated into this room. The study includes numerical simulations of the problem and analytical derivations. Different types of analysis (1-D, 2-D and 3-D analysis) were performed for a room with rigid walls and the results were analyzed. For the 3D problem the effect of the charge size and its location within the room was investigated and a new insight regarding the pressure distribution on the interior wall as function of these parameters has been gained. The numerical analyses were carried out using the Eulerian multi-material approach. Further, an approximate analytical formula to predict the residual internal pressure was developed. The formula is based on the conservation law of total energy and its implementation yields very good agreement with the results obtained numerically using the complete statement of the problem for a wide range of explosive weights and room sizes that is expressed through a non-dimensional parameter. This new formula is superior to existing literature recommendations and compares considerably better with the above numerical results.

This study is to identify the concept of action from the critical science perspective and to explore the agency of home economics teachers for the purpose of teacher education. The context and various characteristics of home economics teacher' agency were identified in terms of philosophy and teacher education. The results of the study indicates, first, the concept of action refers to an activity of individuals involving one's own intentions, and include the ability to reveal a unique identity that aims to reach a set purpose and decision, and this can be identified by mutual meaning in the public sphere. Second, teacher agency is influenced by a teacher's professional experiences and cultural and structural aspects, and it can create an environment which can promote self-directed and cooperative relationships among individuals and communities. Therefore, home economics teachers should be able to reasonably judge, contemplate, and act through reflections on the circumstances and consequences in which their agency is exercised. Third, home economics teachers can reflect and think critically about the values, roles, and sense of purpose of home economics education based on agency. Teachers should focus on the process of achieving their agency rather than on completing it, and they can continuously develop it through a perceived shared understanding among teachers. Therefore, the conceptualization of the agency of home economics teachers is to understand the practice revealed in a teacher's actions. This requires environmental support in school settings because it acts as a mechanism for strengthening the thinking and reflection of teachers through the creation of interactive environments in which professional knowledge and experiences can be shared.
This study aims to explore characteristics of pedagogical reasoning and action of beginning science teachers that naturally and spontaneously occurs in a professional learning community. Three novice middle school science teachers who majored chemistry education in A college of education, passed the examination for selecting secondary school chemistry teachers, and had a common goal of designing 8th grade science lesson plan voluntarily created a professional learning community and had weekly meetings over a year. Main data sources included transcribed audio-recording of 11 meetings of three science teachers in a professional learning community. Data was analyzed using Shulman's pedagogical reasoning model that includes comprehension, transformation, instruction, evaluation, reflection, and new comprehension to identify characteristics and features of pedagogical reasoning in a professional learning community. Data analysis revealed that pedagogical reasoning in a professional learning community comprises not only preparation, representations, instructional selections, and adaptation but also evaluation, reflection, and new comprehension in transformation stage. Reflection in transformation stage leads teachers to be actively engaged in discussion and get new comprehension on each sub-component(preparation, representations, instructional selections, adaptation, and evaluation) of transformation stage.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the illness experience of patients with pressure ulcer. Methods: A phenomenological methodology was used for the study. The data were collected by individual in-depth interview with seven participants with pressure ulcer during 2013~2014. All interviews were audio-taped and verbatim transcripts were made for the analysis. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Results: All participants had underlying disease, such as spinal paralysis and diabetes. Average period of having pressure ulcer was 18 months, ranged from 3 to 36 months. A total of seven theme clusters were derived from the analysis; unexpected wound, inherent vulnerability to infection, reversal of the treatment policy, unpleasant and strange feeling of wound, sweeping fear and helplessness, socioeconomic burden, and healing through specific actions and reflection. The participants faced various contradictory and paradoxical situations in managing their pressure ulcers as well as underlying diseases in their everyday life. However, they slowly overcome these situations by strictly practicing concrete action-oriented strategies that they have learned through suffering and appreciating miraculous wound healing. Conclusion: The results of this study can help developing a patient-specific intervention program with sufficient emotional support by providing insights of the paradoxical illness experience of patients with pressure ulcer.

As the global climate change emergency is escalating, the need for 'Social Action-Oriented SSI (SAO-SSI) on climate change topics' in science education that can change society through social activity is increasing. By employing sociocultural theory, this study explores the challenges of limiting teacher's agency in implementing SAO-SSI on climate change topics in science education. Data from participant observation for 46 lessons, in-depth interviews with participants, field notes, and teacher reflection notes were analyzed by the structure of into micro- (classrooms), meso- (school), and macro- (Korea society) level. At the micro-level, the teacher's new attempts of SAO-SSI on climate change topics class made it difficult for him to identify students' understanding of climate change, because they have a low sense of perception that climate change is also their problem. In addition, the teacher had difficulties leading students' into an engagement for social action because students were skeptical about the feasibility of planned social behavior by positioning themselves as children or had difficulty in understanding social action and sympathizing with its values. At the meso-level, a school culture that encourages the implementation of a curriculum similar to that of colleagues, it was difficult to implement one's own curriculum. And it was difficult to develop expertise without the support and communications with colleagues who revealed the burden of unfamiliar science topics of climate change. In addition, conflicts arose in the process of implementing out-of-school social actions with the principal's passive support. At the macro-level, the insufficient proper material resources for SAO-SSI on climate change topics class, and negative perceptions on the students' social action in the society were acting as constraints. We offer implications for what kind of structural support and efforts from various subjects in the educational community should be provided to implement SAO-SSI on climate change topics class in science education.
