In this paper, we develop the noninformative priors for stress-strength reliability from the Pareto distributions. We develop the matching priors and the reference priors. It turns out that the second order matching prior does not match the alternative coverage probabilities, and is not a highest posterior density matching or a cumelative distribution function matching priors. Also we reveal that the one-at-a-time reference prior and Jeffreys' prior are the second order matching prior. We show that the proposed reference prior matches the target coverage probabilities in a frequentist sense through simulation study, and an example is given.

As the number of reference patterns increase in the text dependant speaker recognition, the recognition performance of the system degrades. So, if reference patterns were decreased the high recognition rate can be obtained. It’s because the speaker recognition can obtain the high discrimination. In this paper, to decrease the number of reference patterns, we choose candidate reference patterns to perform pattern matching with test pattern by high order component of the reflection coefficients of the uttered speech signal Consequently the total recognition rate of the proposed method is about 2% higher than that of the conventional method.

This paper proposes a reference model following control system using fuzzy logic controller and genetic algorithm. A fuzzy logic controller is designed such that plant output follows the output generated by a reference model. In this paper, First-order and second-order reference model with no overshoot and fast rise time is designed. Experiment results show the effectiveness of the proposed controller in tracking property and robustness.

As CBD technologies and researches have been matured, component framework as a larger reuse unit than component is being introduced. Especially issues related with adaptation and integration of components in CBD are being raised as a new research topic. The component framework is given as a solution to resolve these issues. However, current approaches don't suggest a sound and comprehensive reference model and development process applying reference model. In order to develop practical and stable component framework, reference model and concrete guidelines are essential elements. In this paper, we propose a generic reference model integrating existing reference models and a design technique of component framework based on it. Especially, we propose concrete and pragmatic guidelines such as how to design component framework architecture's view and style, how to design commonality and variability of component framework, how to design macro workflows among components, and so on. We believe that the proposed reference model becomes basis for component framework development, and the proposed design technique will support reliable and effective development of the component framework.

In this paper, when the variance of the normal distribution is related to the mean, we develop noninformative priors such as matching priors and reference priors. We prove that the second order matching prior matches alternative coverage probabilities up to the same order and also it is a HPD matching prior. It turns out that one-at-a-time reference prior satisfies a second order matching criterion. Then using these noninformative priors, we develop a Bayesian test procedure for the equality of the means and variances of two independent normal distributions using fractional Bayes factor. Some simulation study is performed, and a real data example is also provided.

In this paper, we develop the noninformative priors when the parameter of interest is the common coefficient of variation in two inverse Gaussian distributions. We want to develop the first and second order probability matching priors. But we prove that the second order probability matching prior does not exist. It turns out that the one-at-a-time and two group reference priors satisfy the first order matching criterion but Jeffreys' prior does not. The Bayesian credible intervals based on the one-at-a-time reference prior meet the frequentist target coverage probabilities much better than that of Jeffreys' prior. Some simulations are given.

Since the LBP algorithm has the characteristic of local texture expression, it is possible to obtain completely different results depending on the extraction location and the size of the reference image and the sample image. In order to solve these shortcomings, in this paper, we first investigate the basic characteristics of LBP, make the size of the reference image (100×100) in order to include most of the characteristics in the image, and select a sample image (40×40) extracted from an arbitrary point. After finding the matching position in the LBP of the reference image by using the correlation test between the LBP of the reference image and the LBP of the sample image, a chi analysis method is used to find the reference image that most closely matches the sample image.

University libraries need the development of a common Internet-based reference request system in order to prevent duplicated investment and provide interoperability among them. This paper proposes a standard of Internet-based reference recluest system that serves reference request-responses and that provides reference source sites on the world wide web. Using this system, university libraries can cooperate other libraries with reference databases and may perform tasks of reference service efficiently.

Model reference control is control method such that overall response of a plant plus controller approaches that of a given reference model. The reference model provides desired trajectory the plant should follow. There are many kinds of control methods in MRC. However, this paper focuses on Model Reference Sliding Mode Control. The plant of these controls is an uncertain and linear system varying in time, of second order, and with SISO. In this paper, a design scheme of reference model is proposed for MRSMC. The scheme determines reference model based on the information on bounded control inputs, reference inputs and system parameters. It is used to choose a Fixed Reference Model in the process of controller design, to update Variable Reference Model when stepwise reference inputs change and to update Instant Reference Model at every sampling time. The simulation results show that the proposed method yields better control performance than the conventional MRC subject to the stepwise reference input when applied to the position control system for motor system.
