물질주의성향과 준거집단영향이 과시소비성향에 미치는 효과 -목포시와 광주시 주부 를 중심으로- (The Effect of Materialism and Reference Group on the Conspicuous Consumption)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the factors related to conspicuous consumption and the effect of materialism and reference group on the conspicuous consumption. The data used in this study included 287 homemakers living in Mokpo and Kwangju,. Statistics used for data analysis were Means Frequencies One-Way Anova and Multiple Regression Analysis. The findings were as follows: 1) The factors related to conspicuous consumption were educational level of wife educational level of husband job of husband and subjective level of living 2) The factors related to materialism were age of wife and subjective level of living 3) The factors related to reference group were age of wife educational level of husband job of husband and subjective level of living 4) Materialism and reference group had positive effects on conspicuous consumption 5) The effect of reference group was the most influencial factor.

제주도 청소년소비자의 과시소비성향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Propensity for Conspicuous Consumption of Adolescents of Cheju)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of self-concept, reference group, consumer education, and materialism on the propensity for conspicuous consumption of adolescents. The data used in this study were collected through questionnaires on 604 adolescents living in Cheju City. The data were analyzed by using SPSS PC(sup)+ program. The propensity for conspicuous consumption of adolescents differed significantly according to their age and allowance, and sex. The propensity for conspicuous consumption of the middle school students was higher than that of the high school students. The propensity for conspicuous consumption of boys was higher than of girl’s. The propensity for conspicuous consumption of the adolscents was influenced by materialism and the reference group. According to the results of the multiple regression analysis, the most influential factor was materialism and reference group. In clothing materialism was the most influential factor and the reference group was the second influential factor. But In shoes, bag, and school supplies the reference group was the most influential factor and materialism was the second influential factor.

Choline intake and its dietary reference values in Korea and other countries: a review

  • Choline is a water-soluble organic compound that is important for the normal functioning of the body. It is an essential dietary component as de novo synthesis by the human body is insufficient. Since the United States set the Adequate Intakes (AIs) for total choline as dietary reference values in 1998, Australia, China, and the European Union have also established the choline AIs. Although choline is clearly essential to life, the 2020 Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (KDRIs) has not established the values because very few studies have been done on choline intake in Koreans. Since choline intake levels differ by race and country, human studies on Koreans are essential to set KDRIs. Therefore, the present study was undertaken to provide basic data for developing choline KDRIs in the future by analyzing data on choline intake in Koreans to date and reference values of choline intake and dietary choline intake status by country and race.

Bayesian Analysis for the Ratio of Variance Components

  • In this paper, we develop the noninformative priors for the linear mixed models when the parameter of interest is the ratio of variance components. We developed the first and second order matching priors. We reveal that the one-at-a-time reference prior satisfies the second order matching criterion. It turns out that the two group reference prior satisfies a first order matching criterion, but Jeffreys' prior is not first order matching prior. Some simulation study is performed.

Bayesian Hypothesis Testing for Intraclass Correlation Coefficient

  • In this paper, we consider a Bayesian model selection for the intraclass correlation coefficient in familiar data. In particular, we compare two nested models such as the independence and intraclass models using the reference prior. A criterion for testing is the Bayesian Reference Criterion by Bernardo (1999) and the Intrinsic Bayes Factor by Berger and Pericchi (1996). We provide numerical examples using simulation data sets for illustration.

A Reference Value for Cook's Measure

  • A single outlier can influence on the least squares estimators and can invalidate analysis based on these estimators. The Cook's statistic has been introduced to measure influence of individual data point on parameter estimation and the quantile of the F distribution is recommended as a reference value. but in practice subjective judgement is applied in the choice of appropriate quantile. A simple reference value is introduced in this paper which is developed by approximating conditional quantities of Cook's measure. The performance of the proposed criterion is evaluated through analysis of real data set.

  • This paper considers noninformative priors for the scale parameter of exponential distribution when the data are collected in step stress accelerated life tests. We find the Jeffreys' and reference priors for this model and show that the reference prior satisfies first order matching criterion. Also, we show that there exists no second order matching prior in this problem. Some simulation results are given and we perform Bayesian analysis for proposed priors using some data.

  • Recently an important issue in Bayesian methodology is determination of noninformative prior distributions, often required when there is no idea of prior information. In this thesis attention is focused on the development of noninformative priors for stationary AR(1) model. The noninformative priors primarily discussed are the Jeffreys prior, and the reference priors. The remarkable points in the result are that the Jeffreys prior coincides with the reference prior for the case that $\rho$ is the parameter of interest.

  • Background : Since 2001 the Korean Association of Health Promotion has attempted to establish her own reference valves that can be used in her all fifteen branch laboratories instead of using those adapted from the published data or there commended data by the reagent companies supplied as inserts. However, the previous two reference values derived from the statistics(year 2001 and 2002) were need to adjust to apply to actual practice. Besides there was an unavoidable situation that the reagent has to be changed to other companies in 2002 that creates another statistical problem. Subsequently, the third attempt to derive the reference ranges of tests in KAHP to solve those problems and define common)v acceptable reference ranges was done and and reported here. Methods : Al1 the results performed during January 2, 2003 through September 30, 2003 were collected in Excel tile format. All the data include dthe necessary information such as age and sex. The age was grouped in six; baby(0-3y), children(4-l2y), adolescent(13-l8y), adult(19-S4y), younger elderly (65-79y),old elderly(oyer 80y), with references of statistics in medical informatics and WHO classification. The data were statistically analyzed with SAS 6.04 for-Gaussian distribution as the previous two occasions. None of the tests showed Gaussian distribution. These procedures had been repeated twice or three times after trimming out the results lying outside three standard deviations. Though, all the tests showed non-Gaussian distribution. Subsequently, the reference ranges were defined in the range from the point of lower 2.5% to the point of higher 97.5 %. And in case the lower range could be "0", the reference ranges were defined in the range of 0 to 95%.Results : The reference ranges of most of 56 test items were newly assigned. Also with adaptation of the recommendation of WHO etc. on fasting blood sugar, hemoglobin, cholesterol. Among these there were eight tests that needed reference ranges by the age groups and nine tests by the sex. Conclusions : The third attempt will credit more the reference range of all15 laboratories of Korean Association of Health Promotion, which will be essential part of the better service to the patient and clients to visit KAHP.

Reference Map을 이용한 시계열 image data의 자동분류법 (Automatic Classification Method for Time-Series Image Data using Reference Map)

  • 본 논문에서는 시계열 image data를 안정되고 높은 정확도로 분류할 수 있는 자동분류법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법은 대상 영역에 관한 분류도가 기존재하던 가, 아니면 최소한 시계열 image data 중 어느 한 image data가 분류되어 있다고 하는 전제조건에 그 기초를 두고 있다. 분류도는 training area를 선정하기 위라여 사용하는 기준주제도로 사용되어진다. 제안한 방법은 1)기준주제도를 사용한 training data의 추출, 2)taining data의 균질성에 의거한 변화화소의 검출, 3)검출된 변화화소에 대한 clustering, 4)training data의 재구성, 5)maximum likelihood classifier와 같은 판별법에 의한 분류 등 5개의 단계로 구성된다. 제안한 방법의 성능을 정량적으로 평가하기 위하여 4개의 시계열 Landsat TM image data를 제안한 방법과 숙련된 operator가 필요한 기존의 방법으로 각각 분류하여 비교 검토하였다. 그 결과, 기존의 방법으로는 숙련된 operator가 필요하고, 분류도를 얻기까지 수일이 소요되는 데 반하여, 제안한 방법으로는 숙련된 operator 없이, 신뢰성 있는 분류도를 수 시간 내에 자동으로 얻을 수 있었다.
