We examine the conventional method of measuring the internal optical loss using the dependence of the reciprocal external quantum efficiency on the cavity length in laser diodes. It is shown that the implicit assumption of constant internal differential quantum efficiency ${\eta}_{id}$, which has been customarily misinterpreted as internal quantum efficiency ${\eta}_{i}$, is not valid for devices with short cavity length. Therefore, for reliable measurments long cavity data should be used.

The tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (Tris)-catalyzed hydrolysis of p-nitrotrifluoroacetanilide was kinetically studied. On the contrary to the previously reported results (R. M. Pollack and T. C.Dumsha, J. Am. Chem. Soc., 1973, 95, 4463), the dependence of the rate on [Tris] consists of an initial curve portion and a subsequent linear increase. This indicates that erroneous conclusions were made in the reported work due to the insufficient amount of data. The initial portions of the rate[Tris] profiles are attributed to the catalyzed breakdown of the tetrahedral intermediate, and the linear portions to the general base-catalyzed water attack at the substrate.

To confirm the taxonomic identity of taxa described by $L{\acute{e}}veill{\acute{e}}$, H. H. A, a French plant taxonomist, in the serial papers of Decades plantarum novarum based on the collections of Fathers Faurie and Taquet from the Korean peninsula, we examined the numerous references that contained taxonomic opinions about $L{\acute{e}}veill{\acute{e}}^{\prime}s$ taxa. Among them, 146 taxa were confirmed as conspecific with other existing taxa. Of them, 79 taxa, including Ajuga devestita, were listed as a synonym of only one species. Sixty-seven taxa, including Bidens robertianifolia, were listed as synonyms of two or more species according to taxonomists. Eight taxa, including Aconitum coreanum, were considered illegitimate names because of later homonym, or other problems. Five taxa, including Rhododendron hallaisanense, were treated either as distinct or conspecific taxa depending on taxonomists.

The purpose of this study was to identify the reexamination effects of behavioral activation·inhibition scale(Choi & Huh, 2010) on self-determination in order to analysis situational structure for P·E class which is perceived by students. To obtain the purpose, 656 high-school students from Gyeonggi-do area answered questionnaire using convenient sampling method. Data which is obtained through self-administration was analyzed using by the frequency analysis, multiple reguression analysis, EFA, and CFA with SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 16. Results were as followed. First, the more students have friend relation, teacher behavior, emotion change, and positive class attitude that are sub-factors of behavioral activation·inhibition, the more they have self-determination. Second, the less students have typical class structure, negative teacher's attitude, punishment, and lack of self-efficacy, the more they have self-determination. Overall results were discussed for practical application in P·E class.

The immunological mechanism of the responses to ultraviolet (UV) B radiation in mouse models were investigated by the suppression of contact hypersensitivity (CHS) and delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH), and susceptibility to infection. However, there are some differences in immune suppression according to the different models as well as the irradiation protocols. Therefore, this review focused on the differences in the suppressive effects on CHS and DTH, and susceptibility to infection in relation to the different in vivo models. Recent advances in cytokine knockout mice experiments have the reexamination of the role of the critical cytokines in UVB-induced immune suppression, which was investigated previously by blocking antibodies. The characteristics of the suppressor cells responsible for UVB-induced tolerance were determined. The subcellular mechanism of UVB-induced immune suppression was also explained by the induction of apoptotic cells through the Fas and Fas-ligand interaction. The phagocytosis of the apoptotic cells is believed to induce the production of the immune suppressive cytokine like interleukin-10 by macrophages. Therefore, the therapeutic UVB response to a skin disease, such as psoriasis, by the depletion of infiltrating T cells could be considered in the extension line of apoptosis and immune suppression.

There are so many studies on perceived risk and purchasing intention. But the results of those studies were inconsistent; some studies showed the positive effect of perceived risk on purchasing intention; others showed the negative effect. This research supposed that the inconsistence of studies resulted from the difference of group innovativeness and set up research hypotheses : among users from the lower innovativeness group, perceived risk has a negative effect on purchasing intention, but from the higher group, perceived risk has a positive effect on purchasing intention. We compared Internet shopping mall users of South Korea representing low innovativeness with those of China representing high innovativeness. The results provided that among South Korean users, perceived risk had the statistically insignificant negative effect on purchasing intention, but among Chinese users, it had the statistically significant positive effect on purchasing intention. Additionally, this study found that perceived risk influenced users' fun which in turn influenced purchasing intention.

This is a case report about effect of syeom pharmacopuncture, bee venom and autohemo-seperated regeneration pharmacopuncture(ASRP) for acute traumatic subdeltoid bursitis with partial tear of subscapularis tendon, which was diagnosed by symptoms and MRI(Magnetic resonance imaging) and caused by bongchuna treatment. We evaluated the patient using Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) every two or four days and range of movement(ROM), physical examination of shoulder about one per ten days and observed improvement with reexamination by ultrasonography and MRI as well. Pharmacopuncture rapidly reduced pain and improved range of motion and function of shoulder in patients with acute sub-deltoid bursitis even though it was severe symptom. Our result suggest that autohemo-seperated regeneration pharmacopuncture might be effective in regenerating the tear of soft tissue such as subscapularis tendon.

Satellite Communication is able to send multi-channeld informations simultaneously including television traffic and has a merit which is easly connected to each other among earth stations. Therfore it has a important position as a international telecommunication system. But according to the diversities of telecommunication tn its quantity and quality, there must be introduction new high-capacity communications satellites or new telecommunication systems for a large step forward in international communications. To do so, there must be reexamination or complement in international conventions or regulations related to satellite communication as a basic background.
