  • In this paper, a novel wireless parallel operation algorithm of N+1 redundant UPS system with no control interconnections is presented. The load sharing of multiple UPS modules are controlled by Q-V droop and $P-\delta$ droop algorithm. This algorithm compensates for inverter parameter variation and line impedance imbalances with wireless auto-tuning method. And to increase the reliability of transient characteristic under parallel operation, a virtual injected Impedance is proposed to decrease a circulation current between inverter modules. Simulation results are provided to prove the novel wireless algorithm.

  • With the proliferation of wireless LAN and smart phones, IP local broadcasting technology has been developed, and the new solution should be studied for error corrupted frames in the wireless broadcasting channel. In push service system using point-to-multi-point connection among broadcasting server and receivers, the technology proposed in this paper provides an effective data broadcasting system by employing frame length adjustment, redundant transmission, and repetitive transmission method.

  • This paper is about a redundancy management system design for the Smart UAV(unmanned aerial vehicle) which utilizes the tilt..rotor mechanism. In order to meet the safety requirement on the PLOC(probability of loss of control) of $1.7{\times}10^{-5}$ per flight hour for FCS (flight control system) failures, a digital FCS is mechanized with a dual redundant structure. A fault detection system which is composed of a CCM(cross channel monitor) and analytic redundancy using the Kalman filtering is designed, and its effectiveness is evaluated through experiments. A threshold level and persistence count for managing redundant sensors are designed based on the statistical analysis of the FCS sensors. To increase the survivability of the UAV after the loss of critical sensors in the SAS(stability augmentation system) and to provide reference information for a tie-breaking condition at which an ILM(in-line monitor) cannot distinguish the faulty channel between two operating ones, the Kalman filter approach is investigated.

  • Early generations of products had little to no inherent capability to test themselves. The technologies involved often required only visual inspection and limited probing to troubleshoot the system once it was turned over to maintenance personnel. However, as the complexity of military and commercial systems grew, symptoms of failure became less noticeable to the operator. Therefore, the procedure to access, inspect, repair and replace a component became complicated, the requirements for personnel skill and testing equipment increased. and it took too long of a time to maintain a system. Meanwhile, the need for availability became more mission-critical and maintenance become very expensive. The obvious solution was to design in-system circuits or devices to self-test the primary system, the Built-In-Test(BIT) was born. This approach has continued right on up through present systems and is an integral part of systems now being designed. The object of this paper is to present a state-of-the-art research for filtering out the BIT diagnosis mistakes using Bayesian analysis and develop the algorithm for Redundant systems with BIT to improve BIT diagnosis.

  • In this paper, by using agent technology, we proposes and implements the search system that supplies the result close to the user preference through the analysis of user preference. To offer better qualified information to user without redundant search results and unnecessary information of legacy search system. this system uses user's information and generates keywords and categories. Comparing user's favorite category with search result of legacy search system through the agent oriented search engine, it supplies only the result close to the user's category. At the same time, search result is saved into the databases according to each category to be used for search work later. As a result, the redundant information of search result was efficiently removed and the information close to the user's favorite category was obtained.

  • Satellites have provided the impetus for the orderly development of reliability engineering research and analysis because they tend to have complex systems and hence acute problems. They were instrumental in developing mathematical models for reliability, as well as design techniques to permit quantitative specification, prediction and measurement of reliability. Reliability engineering is based on implementing measures which insure an item will perform its mission successfully. The discipline of reliability engineering consists of two fundamental aspects; $(1^{st})$ paying attention to details, and $(2^{nd})$ handling uncertainties. This paper uses some of the basic concepts, formulas and examples of reliability theory in application. This paper emphasizes the practical reliability analysis of a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Micro-satellite power subsystem. Approaches for specifying and allocating the reliability of each element of the power system so as to meet the overall power system reliability requirements, as well as to give detailed modeling and predicting of equipment/system reliability are introduced. The results are handled and analyzed to form the final reliability results for the satellite power system. The results show that the Electric Power Subsystem (EPS) reliability meets the requirements with quad microcontrollers (MC), two boards working as main and cold redundant while each board contains two MCs in a hot redundant.

  • We consider some problems of the Modified SPRT(Sequential Probability Ratio Test) method for fault detection and isolation of inertial redundant sensor systems and propose an Advanced SPRT method to solve the problems of the Modified SPRT method. One problem of the Modified SPRT method to apply to inertial sensor system comes from the effect of inertial sensor errors such as misalignment, scale factor error and sensor bias in the parity vector, which make the Modified SPRT method hard to be applicable. The other problem is due to the correlation of parity vector components which may induce false alarm. We use a two-stage Kalman filter to remove effects of the inertial sensor errors and propose the modified parity vector and the controlled parity vector which removes the effect of correlation of parity vector components. The Advanced SPRT method is derived form the modified parity vector and the controlled parity vector. Some simulation results are presented to show the usefulness of the Advanced SPRT method to redundant inertial sensor systems.

  • Since a slight malfunction of control systems in a nuclear power plant may cause huge catastrophes, such control systems usually have multiple redundancy and reliable features, and their reliability and availability should be analyzed and verified thoroughly. This paper performed the reliability analysis of the SPLC (Safety Programmable Logic Controller) that is under developed as the control systems for the next generation nuclear power plant. One of the key features of SPLC is that it has multiple redundancy modes as faults happen, which means the reliability analysis for one fixed redundant model is not enough to analyze the reliability of SPLC. With considering this reconfigurable concept, FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) was used to capture fault-relationship among sub-modules. The analysis results show that MTTF (Mean Time to Fault) of SPLC is 45,080 hours, which is a about 4.5 times longer than the regulation, 10,000 hours.
