This study focuses on establishing a base for approaching record disposition schedules, which may be felt unfamiliar, through the overview of record disposition schedules. For this purpose, this study examined the meaning of record disposition schedules, the significance and principle of their elements, and their operation. In addition, it presented tasks to perform for record disposition schedules to play a central role of record management in the future. This study showed that record disposition schedules authorize people to control and process records, and are closely related to the development and the stability of record disposition system in Korea. What is more, it proved that record disposition schedules enable the assessment of the historical values of records, so it is possible to maintain records from the perspective of historical records. Besides, record disposition schedules are important in that they contain information on organizations and their functions, based on which we can preserve and manage extrinsic information about records.

This study analyzed policies and guides related to the acquisition of private records at state/provincial archives in the U.S., Canada, and Australia. The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of collecting private records in the governmental archives. The analysis was made based on policies and guides from 14 state/provincial archives, including five in the US, seven in Canada, and two in Australia. From the analysis, the study examined collection areas, types of private records, and colleting methods, such as donation or deposit. It also studied the considerations on transferring copyright, placing access restrictions, and disposing of records. The study made the following suggestions for collecting private records at public archives in Korea: (1) define the collecting areas of private records relevant to the characteristics of a region; (2) determine the acquisition methods, including donation or deposit, and establish a procedure to make an agreement for the transfer of ownership, including copyright, access restriction, and disposal of records; (3) develop cooperation among the related institutions within a region.

This paper surveyed records and archives which the railroad stations in Busan possesses and illustrated the status of them. Also we examined whether records and archives of railroad stations contain the memories of localities or not. We visited 17 railroad stations in Busan and we found that 1) the archives in railroad station are fugitive archives 2) the records or archives are classified into five categories, 'station's history', 'report on station-adjacent area', 'report of drive and transport', 'photos', and 'other materials' 3) the volume of such archives in 17 stations are different because of disposal or missing 4) Each archives in same category have same form. Especially the descriptions and images in 'station's history', 'report on station-adjacent area' represent much to memories of locality, but we also must examine the public records, private records related railroad station in Busan for documenting localities. To bridge the gap we suggest to collect oral records by relevant persons.
The functional requirements standards for electronic records management systems which have been published recently describe the specifications very precisely including not only core functions of records management but also the function of system management and optional modules. The fact that these functional requirements standards seem to be similar to each other in terms of the content of functions described in the standards is linked to the global standardization trends in the practical area of electronic records. In addition, these functional requirements standards which have been built upon with collaboration of archivists from many national archives, IT specialists, consultants and records management applications vendors result in not only obtaining high quality but also establishing the condition that the standards could be the certificate criteria easily. Though there might be a lot of different ways and approaches to benchmark the functional requirements standards developed from advanced electronic records management practice, this paper is showing the possibility and meaningful business cases of gaining useful practical ideas learned from imaging electronic records management practices related to the functional requirements standards. The business cases are explored central functions of records management and the intellectual control of the records such as classification scheme or disposal schedules. The first example is related to the classification scheme. Should the records classification be fixed at same number of level? Should a record item be filed only at the last node of classification scheme? The second example addresses a precise disposition schedule which is able to impose the event-driven chronological retention period to records and which could be operated using a inheritance concept between the parent nodes and child nodes in classification scheme. The third example shows the usage of the function which holds or freeze and release the records required to keep as evidence to comply with compliance like e-Discovery or the risk management of organizations under the premise that the records management should be the basis for the legal compliance. The last case shows some cases for bulk batch operation required if the records manager can use the ERMS as their useful tool. It is needed that the records managers are able to understand and interpret the specifications of functional requirements standards for ERMS in the practical view point, and to review the standards and extract required specifications for upgrading their own ERMS. The National Archives of Korea should provide various stakeholders with a sound basis for them to implement effective and efficient electronic records management practices through expanding the usage scope of the functional requirements standard for ERMS and making the common understanding about its implications.

This study aims to examine the current status of and problems in records management by the person in charge of university records management and derive improvement measures to manage university processing and records management systematically. The study's results are as follows: first, administrative problems with processing and service, and second, issues arising from records management procedures, such as the production and registration of processing departments, notification of production status, transfer, cleanup and physical storage, and assessment and disposal, as well as the lack of knowledge and records management. In response, it was suggested that training is needed to improve processing and records management manuals, secure physical storage, strengthen administrative support for the division in charge, ensure the legitimate status of the person in charge of processing and records management in the division in charge, and enhance the recognition of records management by the person in charge and manager.
Background: Recognizing the seriousness of the misuse and abuse of medical narcotics, the South Korean government introduced the world's first narcotic management system, the Narcotics Information Management System (NIMS). This study aimed to explore the recent one-year opioid prescribing patterns in South Korea using the NIMS database. Methods: This study analyzed opioid prescription records in South Korea for the year 2022, utilizing the dispensing/administration dataset provided by NIMS. Public data from the Korean Statistical Information Service were also utilized to explore prescription trends over the past four years. The examination covered 16 different opioid analgesics, assessed by the total number of units prescribed based on routes of administration, type of institutions, and patients' sex and age group. Additionally, the disposal rate for each ingredient was computed. Results: In total, 206,941 records of 87,792,968 opioid analgesic units were analyzed. Recently, the overall quantity of prescribed opioid analgesic units has remained relatively stable. The most prescribed ingredient was oral oxycodone, followed by tapentadol and sublingual fentanyl. Tertiary hospitals had the highest number of dispensed units (49.4%), followed by community pharmacies (40.2%). The highest number of prescribed units was attributed to male patients in their 60s. The disposal rates of the oral and transdermal formulations were less than 0.1%. Conclusions: Opioid prescription in South Korea features a high proportion of oral formulations, tertiary hospital administration, pharmacy dispensing, and elderly patients. Sustained education and surveillance of patients and healthcare providers is required.
The study had two objectives, namely, to estimate the andrological disorders leading to disposal of Karan Fries (KF), Sahiwal cattle and Murrah buffalo bulls and to study the effect of various factors (species/breeds, season of birth and period of birth) on male reproductive parameters. Records on occurrence of subfertility problems and disposal pattern of bulls maintained at the National Dairy Research Institute herd were collected for 15 years (1991 to 2005). Percentage of bulls producing freezable semen was less in the crossbred cattle (58.46%) as compared to Sahiwal (81.69%) and Murrah bulls (81.05%). Various subfertility traits like poor libido and unacceptable seminal profile were found to be the significant reasons (p<0.01) for culling of the breeding bulls. Inadequate sex drive was the main contributing factor for bull disposal in Sahiwal (22.55%) and Murrah bulls (15.12%) whereas poor semen quality and freezability were most frequently observed in KF bulls (24.29 and 7.29 percent, respectively). Least squares analyses of different male reproductive parameters showed that species/breeds had significant effect (p<0.05) on all traits except for frozen semen production periods (FSPP). Periods of birth were significantly different (p<0.05) for all traits except for semen volume. Age at first semen collection (AFSC), age at first semen freezing (AFSF) and age at disposal (AD) were highest in Murrah, while frozen semen production period (FSPP) and semen production period (SPP) were highest in KF and lowest in Sahiwal. The age at first semen donation and breeding period could be reduced by introducing the bulls to training at an early age. These results revealed a declining trend in AFSC, AFSF, FSPP, SPP and AD, thereby indicating an improvement in reproductive performance over the years. The age at first semen donation in bovines can be reduced by introducing the young male calves to training at an early age, which could increase the dosage of semen obtained from each male.

The purpose of this study is to analyze research trends on overseas business archives, compare them with domestic and related prior studies, and present the direction of the development of domestic business archives research. For the research analysis, bibliography from 493 papers was collected using four academic databases: Web of Science, Scopus, LISA (ProQuest), LISS (EBSCOhost). Following data collection, data analysis was conducted and focused on the publication status of related papers, major journals, research forms, and researcher information. In addition, unique words were extracted through the data processing of English abstracts, and the frequency of the key words was identified. Through topic modeling, this study extracted seven topics from the entire literature group, analyzed the publication trends of the papers corresponding to each topic, and examined the topics and representative papers of that topic. The names for these topics were assigned as "access and usability of business records'," "information/evidence value of business records," "importance and operational strategy of business archives," "record management as a business heritage," "management of business records in digital environments," "preservation and disposal of business records," and "historical value of business records." Based on the prior research and analysis results, this study proposed implications for the development and expansion of future research on the domestic business archives.
The actual conditions of the labor unions are primitive. First, there is no good records management regulation. At this research, I found it that most regulations of the labor unions were all the same. I think they have been copied a kind of one of originality. Second, the definition of records were very narrow, like documentary evidence. Third, the classification, filing, disposal regulations are the below level of the public institution in 1970s. Fourth, there are no standards of the records scheduling for the labor records. What kind of labor records have the historical values? I could not find, only the documentary evidence value. So, I think The actual conditions of the labor unions are primitive. I investigated the collections of the Southern Labor Archives in USA. There were many kind of records. For example, the records of regional labor unions also central labor unions, pamphlets, journals, photos, personal records, oral history, organizational records like protocols article of associations internal rules, minute books etc. Like this the collections of the Southern Labor Archives in USA are very various. But our actual conditions of the labor unions is far from that. Rather, we just have tried collected records for publishing the white papers. But this habitual practice would not be desirable. Because they must manage the records from the producing time. Mostly, 'laborer history HANNAE' were organised, and they are trying the collecting and management of the labor records. Also They are trying the computerizing, compilation. 'HANNAE' has the condition for the transformation of the labor archives. But if they want to be really, they must make the records management infra and so, should normalize the record management firstly. For example, They must be keep the standardized records management regulations, records scheduling redesigned. the developing standard model for the records management. And they have the vision for the hub of the labor archives. When coming to this, it will be realized the labor archives Now the records for the working class are disappearing. The managing the records for the labor is another labor movement. All together should join it. But I think the supporting of the archival science research colleagues will be the essential part.
This study is for establishing an appraisal methodology to ensure the accountability of the parliament and to documentation the contemporary historical events related to the National Assembly. It is impossible to documentation comprehensively the activities of the National Assembly through the records schedule of the National Assembly, the current the disposal guidelines of the National Assembly. In particular, this is designed focusing on four affiliated organizations such as the National Assembly Secretariat, so there is a fundamental limit to documentation the outputs of various external agencies and areas where have relationships with the National Assembly. Therefore, it is hard to documentation comprehensively the various issues and historical events occurring in the National Assembly under the current appraisal system. In this situation, this study presents the appraisal methodology, the institutional functional analysis to ensure the accountability of the institution as a first step. However, only with the institutional functional analysis methodology, it is difficult to organize collectively the contemporary historical events or social events ongoing in relation to the fundamental functions of the National Assembly. For this reason, the subject oriented documentation methodology is designed that is the appraisal methodology of selecting the records related to the contemporary social phenomena and historical events according to the functional areas of the National Assembly derived from the institutional functional analysis methodology. Thereby, it is designed that the model of the documentation strategy applicable to the National Assembly in reality.
