Chaos communication system has a sensitive characteristic to initial conditions, because completely another signal is generated when initial condition of chaos equation is changed subtly. Also, chaos communication systems have the characteristics of non-periodic, non-predictability, the broadband signal, such as ease of implementation. Due to these characteristics, security of chaos communication system generally is evaluated better than other systems. However, BER(Bit Error Rate) performance is evaluated worse than other digital system, because existing chaos communication system's transmitter and receiver are strong influence by interference signal and noise. So, research to improve the BER performance of the chaotic communication system is performed continuously. In this paper, We will propose a new CDSK(Correlation Delay Shift Keying) receiver for BER performance improvement. After we compare to the performance of existing CDSK receiver and proposed CDSK receiver, BER performance of proposed CDSK receiver evaluate. Also, when using the new CDSK receiver, we evaluate the BER performance according to the spreading factors and find an optimum spreading factor. If chaos communication system use a new CDSK receiver, BER performance is improved than existing CDSK receiver. Also, if spreading factor's value is increased, BER performance is improved, because it is not nearly affected by interference signal and noise.

This paper describes 250-Mb/s fiber optic transmitter and receiver ICs for plastic optical fiber applications using a$ 0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. Simple signal and light detection schemes are introduced for power reduction in sleep mode. The transmitter converts non-return-to-zero digital data into 650-nm visible-red light signal and the receiver recovers the digital data from the incident light signal through up to 50-m plastic optical fiber. The transmitter and receiver ICs occupy only 0.62 $mm^2$ of area including electrostatic discharge protection diodes and bonding pads. The transmitter IC consumes 23 mA with 20 mA of LED driving currents, and the receiver IC consumes 16 mA with 4 mA of output driving currents at 250 Mb/s of data rate from a 3.3-V supply in active mode. In sleep mode, the transmitter and receiver ICs consume only 25 ${\mu}A$ and 40 ${\mu}A$, respectively.

In this paper, we propose and demonstrate a new four-port BPSK direct conversion receiver based on $0.18\;{\mu}m$ CMOS technology for K-band applications. The proposed direct conversion receiver is composed of two active combiners, an lumped LC balun, two power detectors and an analog decode. The designed direct conversion receiver is successfully demodulated BPSK signal with 40 Mbps in the K-band.

This paper focuses on the simplified receiver design for multi-user circular block oversampled filter bank (CB-OSFB) uplink systems. Through application of discrete Fourier transform (DFT), the special banded structure and circular properties of the modulation matrix in the frequency domain of each user are derived. By exploiting the newly derived properties, a simplified zero-forcing (ZF) receiver is proposed for multi-user CB-OSFB uplink systems in the multipath channels. In the proposed receiver, the matrix inversion operation of the large dimension multi-user equivalent channel matrix is transformed into DFTs and smaller size matrix inversion operations. Simulation is given to show that the proposed ZF receiver can dramatically reduce the computational complexity while with almost the same symbol error rate as that of the traditional ZF receiver.
In order to analyze the performance comparison of dish solar collector with mirror arrays and receiver shapes, the radiative heat flux distribution inside the cavity receiver is numerically investigated. The solar irradiation reflected by dish solar collector is traced using the Monte-Carlo method. Five different dish solar collectors and three different cavity receivers are considered. A parabolic-shaped perfect mirror of which diameter is 1.5 m is considered as a reference dish solar collector and four different arrays of twelve identical parabolic-shaped mirror facets of which diameter are 0.4 m are used. Their reflecting areas, which are $1.5\;m^2$, are the same. Three different cavity receiver shapes are dome, conical, and cylindrical. In addition, the radiative properties of the concentrating surfaces can vary the thermal performance of the cavity receiver so that variation of the surface reflectivity of each mirror is considered. Based on the calculation, the design information of dish solar collector for producing the electric power can be obtained. The results show that the dome type has the best performance in receiver shapes and the 2AND4 INLINE has the best performance in mirror arrays except perfect mirror.

With GPS being the primary navigation system, Loran use is in steep decline. However, according to the final report of vulnerability assessment of the transportation infrastructure relying on the global positioning system prepared by the John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, there are current attempts to enhance and re-popularize Loran as a GPS backup system through the characteristic of the ground based low frequency navigation system. To advance the Loran system such as Loran-C modernization and eLoran development, research is definitely needed in the field of Loran-C receiver signal processing as well as Loran-C signal design and the technology of a receiver. We have developed a set of Matlab tools, which implement a software Loran-C receiver that performs the receiver's position determination through the following procedure. The procedure consists of receiving the Loran-C signal, cycle selection, calculation of the TDOA and range, and receiver's position determination through the Least Square Method. We experiences the effect of an incorrect cycle selection and various error factors (ECD, ASF, sky wave, CRI, etc.) from the result of the Loran-C signal processing. It is apparent that researches which focus on the elimination and mitigation of various error factors need to be investigated on a software Loran-C receiver. These aspects will be explored in further work through the method such as PLL and Kalman filtering.
This paper introduces test configuration and operation method for the GPS receiver system under electromagnetic test of KSLV-I upper-stage as a system qualification level and describes performance analysis of the test results. The GPS receiver system has clearly passed the electromagnetic test specifications of component level which is based on MIL-STD-461E through several design changes. Under electromagnetic test as a system qualification level, the GPS receiver system normally operates in spite of electromagnetic interferences with other systems. Performance of the GPS receiver system is also, not degraded on the condition of electromagnetic field incidence and electrostatic discharge. The KSLV-I GPS receiver system, as a result, is verified on the electromagnetic condition of the KSLV-I upper-stage.

The Internet of Things (IoT) and Visible Light Communication (VLC) is opening up new services in lighting industry by integrating sensory network features in addition to standard illumination functionality. In this progressive developments, the next generation lighting devices for smart homes are capable to sense the environmental conditions and transfer the captured data through lights to gateway controller to access remotely. The smart home environmental sensor information's are few kbps only so VLC systems need to built-in with low rate light connectivity to transfer data to the gateway. To provide error free communication, the quality of a received light signal is important to be considered when designing an VLC receiver. Therefore, this paper proposes the design of robust low rate IoL receiver design using NCP302 voltage detector for micro controller to adapt the IoT/IoL front end module for system integration. To evaluate the proposed system performance, the Arduino UNO based IoT/IoL controller designed with lighting, sensors and lights connectivity interfaces. The experimental result shows that the robust interference rejection is feasible on proposed VOL receiver and possible to have an error-free communication up to 10 kbps at a low SNR using OOK modulation.
In this paper, author studied on the elementary data required for the design of the receiver of Pseudo Noise (PN) phase modulation communication adopted in Global Positioning System(GPS). By computer simulation technique, the phase modulator, filters, and PN generator are designed, and also required bandwidth of R-F amplifier for carrier frequency in phase modulation system is investigated. It is verified that the optimum bandwidth is about 3 times of the PN frequency and almost independent of the carrier frequency. And the low pass filter required for demodulation of slow Boolean data is also found to be about 60 times of the data signal frequency.

In this paper we describe the design of symbol timing and carrier synchronization algorithms for burst receiver. The demodulator consists of digital down converter, matched filter and synchronization circuits. For symbol timing recovery we use modified Gardner algorithm. And we use decision directed method for carrier phase recovery. For the sake of performance analysis, we compare simulation results with the board implemented by FPGA which is APEX20KE series chip for Alter. The performance results show it works quite well up to the condition that a frequency offset equal to 0.1% of symbol rate.
