Mixed-model assembly line has been widely used in automotive assembly industry to quickly respond the diverse product demands. But, this model can lead to part confusion, which is a source for assembly errors when parts are physically interchangeable in a mixed-model assembly line. With the recent application of new technologies such as radio frequency identification (RFID) and ZigBee wireless sensor network (WSN) to the assembly process, real-time information has become available in this manufacturing systems through IT infrastructures. At first, this paper presents an RFID application for assembly processes, specifically, for a mixed-model assembly line. Thus, to ensure that parts be picked accurately, each cockpit module on the assembly line is attached with a RFID tag and the tag is scanned using a RFID reader and recognizes the vehicle, and each part of the cockpit module is attached with a barcode and the barcode is scanned by a barcode reader and each part is identified correctly for the vehicle. Second, this paper presents a ZigBee wireless sensor network (WSN) protocol-based application for a reconfigurable mixed-model assembly line of cockpit module to reduce the assembly errors and the cost of the change/reconfiguration on the assembly lines due to the various orders and new models from the motor company, avoiding the wiring efforts and inconvenience by wiring between the several RFID devices and the IT server system. Finally, we presents the operation results for several years using this RFID/ZigBee wireless sensor network (WSN) protocol-based cockpit module assembly line.

A structured XML has been widely used to present services on various Web-services. The XML is also used for digital documents and digital signatures and for the representation of multimedia files in email systems. The XML document should be firstly parsed to access elements in the XML. The parsing is the most compute-instensive task in the use of XML documents. Most of the previous work has focused on hardware based XML parsers in order to improve parsing performance, while a little work has studied parsing techniques. We present the high performance parsing technique which can be used all of XML parsers and design hardware based XML parser using an FPGA. The proposed parsing technique uses element analyzers instead of the state machine and performs multibyte-based element matching. As a result, our parsing technique can reduce the number of clock cycles per byte(CPB) and does not need to require any preprocessing, such as loading XML data into memory. Compared to other parsers, our parser acheives 1.33~1.82 times improvement in the system performance. Therefore, the proposed parsing technique can process XML documents in real time and is suitable for applying to all of XML parsers.

Although the chemical, physical, and nutritional properties of bovine milk have been extensively studied, only a few studies have attempted to characterize milk-synthesizing genes using RNA-seq data. RNA-seq data was collected from 21 Holstein samples, along with group information about milk production ability; milk yield; and protein, fat, and solid contents. Meta-analysis was employed in order to generally characterize genes related to milk production. In addition, we attempted to investigate the relationship between milk related traits, parity, and lactation period. We observed that milk fat is highly correlated with lactation period; this result indicates that this effect should be considered in the model in order to accurately detect milk production related genes. By employing our developed model, 271 genes were significantly (false discovery rate [FDR] adjusted p-value<0.1) detected as milk production related differentially expressed genes. Of these genes, five (albumin, nitric oxide synthase 3, RNA-binding region (RNP1, RRM) containing 3, secreted and transmembrane 1, and serine palmitoyltransferase, small subunit B) were technically validated using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) in order to check the accuracy of RNA-seq analysis. Finally, 83 gene ontology biological processes including several blood vessel and mammary gland development related terms, were significantly detected using DAVID gene-set enrichment analysis. From these results, we observed that detected milk production related genes are highly enriched in the circulation system process and mammary gland related biological functions. In addition, we observed that detected genes including caveolin 1, mammary serum amyloid A3.2, lingual antimicrobial peptide, cathelicidin 4 (CATHL4), cathelicidin 6 (CATHL6) have been reported in other species as milk production related gene. For this reason, we concluded that our detected 271 genes would be strong candidates for determining milk production.
Background: The association of biomaterial combined with repair factor-like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has prospective values. Bovine-derived xenograft has been identified as an osteoconductive and biocompatible grafting material that provides osseointegration ability. PRP has become a valuable adjunctive agent to promote healing in a lot of dental and oral surgery procedures. However, there are controversies with respect to the regenerative capacity of PRP and the real benefits of its use in bone grafts. The purpose of this study was to assess the influence of PRP combined with xenograft for the repair of peri-implant bone defects. Methods: Twelve rabbits were used in this study, and the experimental surgery with implant installation was performed simultaneously. Autologous PRP was prepared before the surgical procedure. An intrabony defect (7.0 mm in diameter and 3.0 mm deep) was created in the tibia of each rabbit; then, 24 titanium dental implants (3.0 mm in diameter and 8.5 mm long) were inserted into these osteotomy sites. Thus, a standardized gap (4.0 mm) was established between the surrounding bony walls and the implant surface. The gaps were treated with either xenograft alone (control group) or xenograft combined with PRP (experimental group). After healing for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 weeks, the rabbits were sacrificed with an overdose of KCl solution. Two rabbits were killed at each time, and the samples including dental implants and surrounding bone were collected and processed for histological analysis. Results: More newly formed bone and a better bone healing process were observed in control group. The histomorphometric analysis revealed that the mean percentage of bone-to-implant contact in the control group was significantly higher than that of the experimental group (25.23 vs. 8.16 %; P < 0.05, independent-simple t test, analysis of variance [ANOVA]). Conclusions: The results indicate that in the addition of PRP to bovine-derived xenograft in the repair of bone defects around the implant, PRP may delay peri-implant bone healing.
In these days, 3D dynamic simulation is closely related to many industries. In the past, physically-based 3D simulation was used mainly in the car crash or construction related fields, but it also plays an important role in movies or games today. Many mathematical computations are needed to represent the 3D object realistically, but it is difficult to process a large amount of calculations for simulation of application based on CPU in real-time. Recently, with the advanced graphic hardware and improved architecture, GPU can be utilized for the general purposes of computation function as well as graphic computation. Many approaches using GPU have been applied for various research fields. In this paper, we analyze the performance variation of two cloth simulation algorithms based on GPU according to the change of execution properties of GPU shaders in oder to optimize the performance of GPU-based cloth simulation. Cloth simulation is implemented by the spring centric algorithm and node centric algorithm with GPU parallel computing using compute shader of GLSL 4.3. We compare the performance of between these algorithms according to the change of the size and dimension of work group. The experiment is repeated to 10 times during 5,000 frames for each test and experimental results are provided by averaging of FPS. The experimental result shows that the node centric algorithm is executed in higher speed than the spring centric algorithm.

When performing target detection using hyperspectral imagery, a feature extraction process is necessary to solve the problem of redundancy of adjacent spectral bands and the problem of a large amount of calculation due to high dimensional data. This study proposes a new band selection method using the $L_{2,1}$-norm regression model to apply the feature selection technique in the machine learning field to the hyperspectral band selection. In order to analyze the performance of the proposed band selection technique, we collected the hyperspectral imagery and these were used to analyze the performance of target detection with band selection. The Adaptive Cosine Estimator (ACE) detection performance is maintained or improved when the number of bands is reduced from 164 to about 30 to 40 bands in the 350 nm to 2500 nm wavelength band. Experimental results show that the proposed band selection technique extracts bands that are effective for detection in hyperspectral images and can reduce the size of the data without reducing the performance, which can help improve the processing speed of real-time target detection system in the future.

In the manufacturing process of flat panel displays, a high-precision planar motion stage is used to position a specimen. Stages of this type typically use frictionless linear motors and air bearings, and laser interferometers. Real-time dynamic correction of the yaw motion error is very important because the inevitable yaw motion error of the stage means a change in the specimen orientation. Gantry control is generally used to compensate for yaw motion errors. Flexure units that allow rotational motion are applied to the stage to apply this method to a stage using an air-bearing guide. This paper proposes a method to improve the constant speed motion performance of a H-type XY stage equipped with air bearing and flexure units. When applying the gantry control to the stage, including the flexure units, the cause of the mutual ripple generated from the linear motors is analyzed, and adaptive learning control is proposed to compensate for the mutual ripple. A simulation was performed to verify the proposed method. The speed ripple was reduced to approximately the 22 % level. The ripple reduction was verified by simulating the stage state where yaw motion error occurs.

Dam discharge is carried out for the management of rivers and area around rivers due to rainy season or drought. Dam discharge should be based on an accurate understanding of the flow rate that can be accommodated in the river. Therefore, understanding the allowable storage capacity of river is an important factor in the management of the environment around the river. However, the methods using water level meters and images, which are currently used to determine the allowable flow rate of rivers, show limitations in terms of accuracy and efficiency. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes a method to automatically calculate the allowable storage capacity of river based on the images taken by drone. In the first step, we create a 3D model of the river by using the drone images. This generation process consists of tiepoint extraction, image orientation, and image matching. In the second step, the allowable storage capacity is calculated by cross section analysis of the river using the generated river 3D model and the road and river layers in the target area. In this step, we determine the maximum water level of the river, extract the cross-sectional profile along the river, and use the 3D model to calculate the allowable storage capacity for the area. To prove our method, we used Bukhan river's data and as a result, the allowable storage volume was automatically extracted. It is expected that the proposed method will be useful for real - time management of rivers and surrounding areas and 3D models using drone.
Moderns are living within flood of web contents, animation, reflex data etc. as well as sight, product, environment design. There fore, modern consumer has much options. Designer must provide various result for consumer for this reason. And must invent new sensitivity and propose to consumer. As purpose of this MCC sensitivity palette research takes advantage of the most sensitive color, do. Because applying correct sensitivity more than when design with matter already settled, rid private prejudice, and is thing to convey design intention exactly to user. An animation is a tool to represent the consciousness of an author. It is a medium that converts his/her consciousness to time by the means of spaces. Image is the most inherent element among the elements of an animation. Character is the element that has the very core function among the elements of an image because a character is a shape that can deliver a story through various actions and facial expressions. In this context, is a representative satire animation that describes a ranked and unequal human society and selfishness and absurdity of human beings existed in the human society, based on the original work of George Orwell. Therefore, this study aims to study what the work tries to satirize through the meanings and symbols that the characters, animals, and spaces in the work. As a result of the study, it was found that the characters appeared in the work are metaphoric symbols that imply the meanings of each character, not just simple characters or spaces. In the work, the farm is a symbolic space that symbolizes a human world. John, a human being, is described as a dictator in an absolute Russian monarchy who suppresses people. Old Major, a pig, is described as an old pioneer that preaches the appropriation of a revolution while Snow Ball, a pig that follows the Major is described as a naive leader that dreams to establish a real socialist state where everybody lives equal, through successful revolution. Another pig, Napoleon is described as the more greedy dictator than human being. He killed Snow Ball for his private ambition and suppresses and exploits the same race, animals. That is, setting man and various animals in the relation of dominant class and subordinated class, the author generates conflicts among characters. Although the characters pursue an ideal society through revolution, it requires another revolution in the process, which expresses repetitive contradiction of human history in a symbolic and strong way.
