It is known that an unbiased estimator of f(p) for binomial B(n,p) exists if and only if f is a polynomial of degree at most n, in which case the unbiased estimator of a real-valued function $f(p), p = (p_0,p_1,\cdots,p_r)$ is unique. In general, this estimator has the serious fault of not being range preserving; that is, its value may fall outside the range of f(p). In this article, a condition on a real-valued function f is derived that is necessary for the unbiased estimator to be range preserving that this is sufficient when n is large enough.

This paper treats a genetic algorithm for ship scheduling problem in set packing formulation. We newly devised a partition based representation of solution and compose initial population using a domain knowledge of problem which results in saving calculation cost. We established replacement strategy which makes each individual not to degenerate during evolutionary process and applied adaptive mutate operator to improve feasibility of individual. If offspring is feasible then an improve operator is applied to increase objective value without loss of feasibility. A computational experiment was carried out with real data and showed a useful result for a large size real world problem.

In this paper, we analyze the delay phenomenon that can occur when controlling an unmanned aerial vehicle using a camera and describe a solution to solve the phenomenon. The group of pictures (GOP) value is changed in order to reduce the delay according to the frame data size that can occur in the moving image data transmission. The appropriate GOP values were determined through experimental data accumulation and validated through camera self-test, system integration laboratory (SIL) verification test and system integration test.

This paper deals with on-Line detection of strip movement and real time positioning of brackets of EMD connected with it. Strip movement is detected by 4 line CCD camera and measured position correction value is inputted to motor position controller to control position of brackets.

Nonhomogeneous Poisson Process is often used to model failure times which occurred in software reliability and hardware reliability models. It can be characterized by its intensity functions or mean value functions. Many parametric intensity models have been proposed to account for the failure mechanism in real situation. In this paper, we propose a Bayesian semiparametric approach based on beta-mixtures. Two real datasets are analyzed.

For many people, the digital domain is becoming as important as the real world. The virtual environment is no longer just a place for entertainment and leisure. Blockchain transactions are serious business. Digital assets are seen as investments, with as much real value as physical assets. Does the law protect rights in digital assets, such as cryptocurrencies and NFTs? This article discusses recent case law that expands the common law concept of property to digital assets.

It has been found that implementing the function analysis is very important in terms of accomplishing successful Value Engineering(VE), and the function definition is a basic activity at design VE phase. In spite of the importance, the real function analysis activities in the VE are not regard as consequence. In this regard, this paper attempts to use the campus mater plan to lead an effective function analysis. So, the purpose of this value engineering study is to provide the criteria to develop the campus mater plan. This value engineering study used as a guide for the standardization of the campus mater plan. In addition, broader application is possible through the analysis throughout the different ways of the project.

Shot change detection is an important technique for effective management of video data, so detection scheme requires adaptive detection techniques to be used actually in various video. In this paper, we propose an adaptive shot change detection algorithm using the mean of feature value on variable reference blocks. Our algorithm determines shot change detection by defining adaptive threshold values with the feature value extracted from video frames and comparing the feature value and the threshold value. We obtained better detection ratio than the conventional methods maximally by 15% in the experiment with the same test sequence. We also had good detection ratio for other several methods of feature extraction and could see real-time operation of shot change detection in the hardware platform with low performance was possible by implementing it in TVUS model of HOMECAST Company. Thus, our algorithm in the paper can be useful in PMP or other portable players.

R&D is the core competence of an enterprise. Furthermore, R&D requires huge capital investment and has very risky characteristics. Therefore, to be successful in R&D process, several approaches of engineering economics are used prior to decision-making. Until now, typical approaches of engineering economics such as NPV(net present value) or DCF(Discounted cash flow) have been used. But, they cannot properly capture managerial flexibility to adapt and revise later decisions in response to unexpected market development. In a constantly changing and always uncertain marketplace, managerial operation flexibility and strategic adaptability have become vital in order to successfully capitalize on favorable future investment opportunities and limit losses from adverse market development. For the alternatives of conventional static decision-making approaches, new concept of using real options is introduced. Real option theory is based on financial option's characteristics and checks every revision interval whether situation have changed favorable to decision maker or not. In advantageous situation, the decision maker has only to go on. In contrast, with unfavorable situation, he abandons the investment immediately. In this aspect, real option model is more suitable in very uncertain and dynamic business environment in that it can provide the opportunity to cope with flexibility. This paper suggests efficient and effective R&D investment strategy by using real options model. In addition, this paper compares financial options and real options.

C. gloeosporioides와 C. acutatum의 개체군 밀도분석을 위해 기존 ITS부위를 이용한 PCR방법에 사용한 caInt2와 cgint 프라이머에 형광을 표지하여 C. acutatum에 특이적인 fcaInt2와 C. gloeosporioides에 특이적인 vcgint의 두 probe를 제작하였다. 이 두개의 프라이머와 Unicof1, Unicor1 primer를 이용 real time PCR을 수행하였을 때 C. acutatum은 fcaInt2 probe에, C. gloeosporioides는 vcgint에 특이적인 형광증폭곡선을 나타냄에 따라 delta Rn 값을 비교함으로 두 종의 구분이 가능하였다.
