  • Recently, research on augmented games as a new game genre has attracted a lot of attention. An augmented game overlaps virtual objects in an augmented reality(AR) environment, allowing game players to interact with the AR environment through manipulating real and virtual objects. However, it is difficult to release existing augmented games to ordinary game players, as the games generally use very expensive and inconvenient 'backpack' systems: To solve this problem, several augmented games have been proposed using mobile devices equipped with cameras, but it can be only enjoyed at a previously-installed location, as a ‘color marker' or 'pattern marker’ is used to overlap the virtual object with the real environment. Accordingly, this paper introduces an augmented game, called augmented galaga based on traditional well-known galaga, executed on mobile devices to make game players experience the game without any economic burdens. Augmented galaga uses real object in real environments, and uses scale-invariant features(SIFT), and Euclidean distance to recognize the real objects. The virtural aliens are randomly appeared around the specific objects, several specific objects are used to improve the interest aspect, andgame players attack the virtual aliens by moving the mobile devices towards specific objects and clicking a button of mobile devices. As a result, we expect that augmented galaga provides an exciting experience without any economic burdens for players based on the game paradigm, where the user interacts with both the physical world captured by a mobile camera and the virtual aliens automatically generated by a mobile devices.

  • Currently, virtual reality contents using VR images are spotlighted since they can be easily created and utilized. But because VR images are in a state of lack of interaction, there are limitations in their applications and usability. In order to overcome this problem, we propose a new method in which 360 degree panorama image and game engine are utilized to develop a high resolution of interactive VR service in real time. In particular, since the background image, which is represented by a form of panorama image, is pre-generated through a heavy rendering computation, it can be used to provide a immersive VR service with a relatively small amount of computation in run time on a low performance device. In order to show the effectiveness of our proposed method, an interactive game of a virtual zoo environment was implemented and illustrated showing that it can improve user interaction and immersion experience in a pretty good way.

  • We introduce a new framework for making spatial augmented reality contents fast and with low cost. The framework allows us to make projection-based augmented reality using off-the-shelf webcams and projectors. Contents producers can make a projection-based augmented reality contents easy and fast by setting a webcam and a projector and then controlling user interfaces of our framework. Since most of previous solutions are expensive and it is too difficult that the producers apply augmented reality techniques themselves, the framework helps them to concentrate contents. Once we set a webcam and a projector correctly, our framework projects a virtual object contents according to the manipulation of a trackable real object. As a result we can see realistic augmented reality contents.

  • All through the World, the Game Market has grown up speedily and the Game technology progress rapidly for the advancement of the computer technology and the increase of the number of PC in use. For in this thesis, we will research on a real-time 3D game engine technique that is the core of FPS(First Person Shooter) which apply a 3D virtual reality and deduce a production of contents. Finally we will comment on a direction in development of the game engine.

  • This paper introduces environment analysis way to improve the game AI. The way of environment analysis can provide game user the more reality than generally used AI patterns. This paper suggests the way to make die NPC patterns variously. To realize this theory we designed the organization of NPC server newly, and also accomplished the experiment of NPC server simulation test to get the performance applied in real situation.

  • Physically interactive sports games are expanding to be training forms to replace real sports. Previous Physically interactive sports games are mostly technical studies for reality and immersion, and there is a few research related to sports movements for exercise. In this paper, we implement the physically interactive spinning game by applying the functional movement of spinning so that it can't only replace the real spinning but also an individual can play. Sports functional movement is expected to be an appropriate way to create physically interactive sports games.

  • Haptic systems have been widely used for both virtual reality and augmented reality application including game, entertainment, education and medical sectors. Clothing designers and retailers initiated using AR and VR technologies to help the consumers find style with the perfect fit. Most of the developed augmented reality shopping is implemented by overlapping the image of the clothes on the customer so that he/she can find the fit. However, those are only visual information and the customer cannot experience the real size and the stiffness of the clothes. In this paper, we present the haptic upper garment which provides the haptic feedback to the user using cables. By controlling the length of the cable, the size of the clothes is set and by stiffness control, the compliance of the fabric is implemented. The haptic garment is modeled for precise control and the distributed controller architecture is described. With the haptic upper garment, the user's experience of the virtual clothes is greatly enhanced.

  • Motion capture system that is used in movies and games today requires large equipments and expensive that it is still not common as a reasonable family game. Therefore, this research project focused on solving these problems mentioned above and move on to develop a new type of approach and by using reasonable family use USB camera and augmented reality to develop a bodily sensation motion capture system which can be used in making a video game. In order to develop this, I used a pair of Marker which can be placed on both hands and one USB camera and the image that was extracted in real time goes through the AR toolkit and ed the 3D coordinates of data and developed a motion capture system.

  • The background fort this study is related to the concept of modern time and space which has been extended from physical space to virtual space in the present times witnessing the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Based on visual tactility and illusion in virtual reality, we intended to present the possibility of the interactions as realistic as the interactions occurring in reality. Regarding the scope of this study, we analyzed the relationship between illusion in game space and immersion in interactions based on the games used frequently among current virtual reality contents. The results of the study showed that the interactions in virtual reality occurred within the space converging the time and space and that the illusion of digital images had realistic position of reality without original. Research which investigates the interaction in virtual space and media projection method for real space and virtual space will provide useful basis for promoting technological development based on novel methods differentiated from existing image grammar and for identifying the content utilization methods.

  • As augmented reality technology has developed, various augmented reality contents can be seen in real life, and the performance of mobile device is improved, so augmented reality technology can be used even without special device. As a result, a training system, guidance system and a museum art guide system based on augmented reality technology are emerging, and interest in augmented reality is also increasing. However, the existing guidance systems using a single mobile device have limitations in terms of the user experience (UX) because the camera of the device limits the field of view or the two hands are not free and the user input is difficult. In this paper, we compare augmented reality based guidance systems for Rubik's Cube using tablet and HMD to improve the constraint of user experience of such a single mobile device, and find elements that positively improve user experience. After that, we evaluate whether the user experience is actually improved through the user experience comparison test and the questionnaire.
