초등특수교사의 읽기·쓰기 지도실태 및 요구도 분석 (An Analysis on Reading and Writing Teaching Practices and Needs of Elementary Special Education Teachers)

  • 이 연구는 특수교사를 대상으로 지적장애학생의 읽기 및 쓰기 지도 실태와 요구도를 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 광주, 대구, 부산 지역에 근무하고 있는 특수교사 71명에게 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 특수교사들은 학생의 읽기 및 쓰기 수준을 파악하기 위해 표준화된 검사도구보다 직접 제작한 검사도구를 주로 사용하였다. 학생 지도 시 문제해결 방법과 신뢰하는 정보에 대해서는 자신의 지도 경험과 동료 및 선배의 조언을 이용하였고 학교에서 배운 지식의 활용의 사용빈도는 낮았다. 학생의 읽기 및 쓰기 지도 시 주로 통문자를 통한 지도가 이루어졌으나 교사의 지도경험과 교재의 다양성 또한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 학생지도를 위한 교육 참여의 요구도에서는 쓰기의 교수방법, 장애특성에 따른 교재 및 교구, 읽기 및 쓰기발달, 읽기 및 쓰기장애에 대한 관심과 요구가 높았다. 학생 지도 시 어려움과 요구도에서는 다양한 교재, 교구의 개발, 충분한 교재 및 검사도구 구비에 대한 요구가 높았다. 지도 시 어려움으로는 읽기, 쓰기에 대한 지식의 부족, 선별/평가도구 부족, 장애 특성에 따른 평가와 지도 등에서 어려움이 나타났다.

  • 비장애인에게 IT 기술은 단순히 하나의 제품에 지나지 않을지 모르지만, 장애인에게는 비장애인과 동일한 사회 활동을 가능케 해주는 '또 다른 감각'이 될 수 있다. 장애인의 정보 접근을 돕기 위해서는 도서관의 장애인서비스가 필수적인데, 장애인을 위한 도서관 서비스는 그 규모와 수준에 따라 실효성이 결정된다. 이에 본 연구는 국내 인구의 10%에 달하는 독서장애인의 독서활동 및 정보 접근을 돕는 국내외 기술과 응용력의 현주소에 대해 알아본다. 문헌조사 및 국내외 도서관 탐방을 통해 독서장애인 지원 기술 및 서비스 현황을 살펴보고, 그에 따른 분석을 토대로 국내 실정에 맞는 발전방안을 제시한다. 이를 통해 독서장애인의 정보접근지원에 있어 국내 도서관에서 제공할 수 있는 서비스와 독서지원 보조공학 기술 관련 장기적 발전전략을 제안하였다.

중고등학교 필독도서목록에 관한 연구 (A study on the list of must books in middle schools)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the necessity, selection, organization and management of Must Books List in middle schools. A great book can change a person's life and future. Especially, reading in the juvenile period is important because of their intellectual curiosity and sensitivity. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The necessity of Must Books can be considered in two perspectives : One is the cultivation of emotion and sense of value and the other is the development of information abilities. 2. The general criteria for the selection of Must Books are whether a book is su n.0, pportive of learning activities, of extracurricular activities, and of activities for school festivals. And whether a book is contributing to the building of good characters of students or not should be considered, too. 3. The special attention should be given to such matters as the organizational and distributional ratio among subjects of the Must Books, the degree of difficulties, the ratio of books for both male and female students, the ratio of foreign books to domestics, the possibilities of further reading and the bibliographical matters. 4. The points to be duly considered for the management of Must Books List are the educational considerations, clearness of objectives, the elimination of commercialism and authoritarianism in the book selection. The Must Books List should be managed autonomously, depending on the characteristics of each school and be updated annually. However, the most important thing is that the teacher should be a good reader himself. 5. It is better to include short stories than the long one in the Must Book List. Students should be guided to read explanatory text first and then to move to the original text. And they should be exposed to books in various subjects and not to be too dependent on the Must Books List. They should be able to develop the problem solving ability through the reading of the Must Books. 6. Finally, the Must Books selection committee should be composed of both teacher librarian and subject teachers. It is desirable that books for the cultivation of emotion, for the establishment of sense of value, and for the development of information ability should be selected by consulting the various reading lists compiled by the Ministry of Education, the Board of Local Education and other authorities concerned.

아동인지능력향상서비스가 만 3-6세 아동의 언어능력 발달에 미치는 영향 : 단기효과성 평가 연구 (The Effect of an Improvement Service for Child Cognitive Ability Aimed at the Development of linguistic Ability in Children between the Ages of 3-6 Years : An Evaluation for Short-term Effectiveness)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the short term effectiveness of a cognitive ability improvement service for children, which is one of the 'Investment activities for Local Community Services' conducted by the Ministry for Health and Welfare. Results indicate that the longer the period of using cognitive improvement services for children, the more positively significant influence there is on their language abilities in terms of comprehension, expression, and reading-writing. Furthermore, these influences are stronger in children of low-income families than in children from higher income families. Certainly, this type of service improves infants' language abilities regardless of the income level of their families.

편마비를 동반하지 않은 뇌경색 후 실어증 환자 치험 2례 (Two Cases of Aphasia without Hemiparesis after Stroke)

  • This report is about two cases of aphasia without hemiparesis after stroke. Most of aphasia after stroke accompanies hemiparesis. However, aphasia without hemiparesis after stroke occurs rarely and only a few cases have been reported. We used Korean herbal medication, acupuncture, language therapy. To evaluate speech ability we used K-WAB(Korean version of Western Aphasia Battery) and word span test. After treatment, patients' word span abilities and language abilities including reading, writing, speaking were improved. This report suggests that Korean medicine and language therapy could have a therapeutic effect for aphasia without hemiparesis after stroke.

유아의 정보처리양식과 연령이 공간좌표인식능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Age and Information Processing Style on Abilities of Young Children to Understand Spatial Coordinates)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of young children's age and information processing style in understanding spatial coordinates. For sampling the subjects of this study, Korean version K-ABC Intelligence Test(Moon, Soo-Back, 1997)was conducted with 165 children aged 5-6 who were attending I and G kindergarten in D city. From this pool 30 children who possessed sequential processing style and 30 children who possessed simultaneous processing style were sampled. In order to analyze the understanding of spatial coordinates, a test tool was formulated according to methodology of Blades & Spencer(1989) which was modified. Acquired data was subjected to descriptive and comparative statistical analysis. The following conclusions were arrived at: Firstly, there was significant difference between 5-year-olds and 6-year-olds in understanding spatial coordinates. The 6-year-old group got statistically higher grades than the 5-year-old group in locating a point on the coordinate plane and reading the coordinate numbers. Secondly, there was significant difference between children's information processing style in understanding spatial coordinate. Children with high simultaneous-low sequential processing showed higher performance in locating a point on the coordinate plane and reading coordinate numbers than children with high sequential-low simultaneous processing. Thirdly, after verifying statistical significance of interactivity between young children's age and children's processing strength, there was significant interactive effects in both tasks.

Rethinking K-6 Scientific literacy: A Case Study of Using Science Books as Tool to Cultivate a Fundamental Sense of Scientific Literacy

  • As the discourse of scientific literacy has broadly summed up the goals of science education in the current decade, this study attempts to question how we contextualize appropriate interpretations and feasible approaches to scientific literacy in K-6 science education. With respect to the complex praxis of scientific knowledge and practice, this study emphasizes the participatory framework of scientific literacy which interweaves children's everyday experiences and science learning. This study also concerns children's abilities to understand and enact scientific enterprises (i.e., children's fundamental sense of scientific literacy). As a way of developing K-6 scientific literacy, this study investigates how using science books can broaden the scope of children's understandings of science in life connections and promote a fundamental sense of scientific literacy through talking, reading, and writing skills in Grade two science classrooms in Canada. Second graders were engaged in learning "sound" for five weeks. During science lessons, children's talks were recorded and their writings were collected for data interpretation. This research finds that using science books can encourage children to become engaged in communicative activities such as talking, reading, and writing in science; furthermore, using science books develops children's inquiry skills. These findings open a further discussion on scientific literacy at the K-6 levels.

Statistical Techniques based Computer-aided Diagnosis (CAD) using Texture Feature Analysis: Applied of Cerebral Infarction in Computed Tomography (CT) Images

  • The brain is the body's most organized and controlled organ, and it governs various psychological and mental functions. A brain abnormality could greatly affect one's physical and mental abilities, and consequently one's social life. Brain disorders can be broadly categorized into three main afflictions: stroke, brain tumor, and dementia. Among these, stroke is a common disease that occurs owing to a disorder in blood flow, and it is accompanied by a sudden loss of consciousness and motor paralysis. The main types of strokes are infarction and hemorrhage. The exact diagnosis and early treatment of an infarction are very important for the patient's prognosis and for the determination of the treatment direction. In this study, texture features were analyzed in order to develop a prototype auto-diagnostic system for infarction using computer auto-diagnostic software. The analysis results indicate that of the six parameters measured, the average brightness, average contrast, flatness, and uniformity show a high cognition rate whereas the degree of skewness and entropy show a low cognition rate. On the basis of these results, it was suggested that a digital CT image obtained using the computer auto-diagnostic software can be used to provide valuable information for general CT image auto-detection and diagnosis for pre-reading. This system is highly advantageous because it can achieve early diagnosis of the disease and it can be used as supplementary data in image reading. Further, it is expected to enable accurate medical image detection and reduced diagnostic time in final-reading.

  • We have known that "Chimgudaeseong(鍼灸大成)" had been written by Yanggyeju(楊繼洲) in Myeong(明) Dynasty. And it had been the only text book of acupuncture & moxibustion for 300 years. This book is composed of 10 chapters dealing almost all the medical theories of that times. This book is so enormous that it is hard to understand essential ideas of author. The reading medical records is one of the best way to develop one's abilities of curing a disease without clinical practice. so we can't help dealing with medical records, because it is one of important method of understanding Oriental Medicine. On this study, we investigate a objective method on understanding medical records in "Chimgudaeseong(鍼灸大成)".
