연소파 로켓 점화기의 T형 분기관내 데토네이션파 전파 (Detonation Wave Propagation Through a T-type Branch Tube in Combustion Wave Rocket Igniter)

  • T-분기관을 전파하는 데토네이션 파에 대한 수치적 연구가 수행되었다. T-분기관은 데토네이션 파를 이용하여 여러 개의 연소기를 점화시키는 연소파 점화기라는 새로운 로켓 점화체계의 핵심 부분이다. Euler 방정식과 Induction parameter 방정식이 지배방정식으로 이용되었으며 반응 항은 상세 반응 기구로 얻어진 화학 반응 데이터베이스로부터 모델 되었다. 연계된 방정식의 풀이에는 2차 정확도의 내재적 시간적분과 3차 정확도의 TVD 알고리즘이 이용되었다. 2백만 개를 초과하는 격자를 이용하여 붕괴와 재 점화를 포함하는 데토네이션파의 거동을 포착할 수 있었으며, 연소파 점화기 화염관의 설계 요소를 얻었다.

중형상용차량용 LPG엔진의 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of an LPG Engine for Medium-Duty Commercial Vehicles)

  • This study is aimed to develop a proto-type LPG engine for medium-duty commercial vehicles in order to substitute for conventional diesel engine. Recently, it is recognized that diesel engines are main cause for smoke pollution in urban site. So, it is expected to reduce this environmental emission by developing and substituting LPG engine which has the advantage of practical use in a short development period in aspects of infrastructures. For that, after analysing the specifications and performance characteristics of a base diesel engine, parts of combustion chamber, intake system, fuel supply and ignition systems suitable for LPG combustion were re-designed and manufactured. And and engine controller for fuel supply and ignition distributions was matched by feedback mapping based on the speed-load conditions. The torque and power of LPG engine were increased by 6∼12% on the overall driving conditions compared to the base diesel engine, and fuel consumption rate marked the similar level based on the fuel price. Exhaust emissions such as THC, CO, NOx recorded the same order with conventional LPG engine for passenger car.

직접분사식 디젤기관에서 바이오디젤 연료의 연소특성(2) (Combustion Characteristics of Biodiesel Fuel as an Alternative Fuel for a D.I. Diesel Engine(2))

  • Recently, lots of researchers have been attracted to develop various alternative fuels in diesel engine. The use of biodiesel fuel(BDF) is an effective way of substituting diesel fuel in the long run. But biodiesel fuel can affect the performance and emissions in diesel engine because it has different chemical and physical properties from diesel fuel. In this study, to investigate the combustion characteristics of biodiesel fuel as an alternative fuel for D.I. diesel engine, experiments were carried out at the three-cylinder, four stroke D.I. diesel engine with T/C. As a result, shorter ignition delays were observed for the biodiesel blend cases relative to the diesel oil. The pick value of premixed combustion for the rate of heat release is increased with decreasing C.F.W. temperature.

고압 나트륨램프의 고주파 방전특성 연구 (A Study on the High-frequency Operation Characteristics of the High-pressure Sodium Lamps)

  • The change of the discharge characteristics of the high-pressure sodium (HPS) lamps is investigated over a power source frequency range of 60 Hz to 30, 000 Hz. As the frequency increases, the light and electrical characteristics of the HPS lamps are improved since the re-ignition is not needed due to the constant electron density, and the cathode fall is reduced. But at the certain frequency range, the arc instability called acoustic resonance occurs, and the arc tube is damaged. Regarding these characteristics and the kind of the illuminating system, a proper frequency is selected to operate the HPS lamps. And a new measuring system using a computer and the storage-scope is developed to avoid the error of the ordinary gauges at high frequency power.

  • The circuit breaker in an electric power system is not operated when the voltage in the circuit breaker is higher than the rated transient recovery voltage (TRV). The TRV of a circuit breaker is characterized by re-ignition of the arc between two poles and determined by the value of connecting impedance. In this study, we simulated the peak value of TRV in the AC filter of the circuit breaker. The suitability of TRV is assessed by capacitive current switching test conditions defined by the international guide IEC62271-100.

  • The facility improvement for hot firing test of combustion chamber having thrust of 30-tonf class and chamber pressure of 60bara were performed at ReTF in KARI. The KSR-III main engine having combustion pressure of 13bara and thrust of 12.5tonf had been successfully tested in this facility. To increase the capability of the facility, the feeding and the trust measurement system have been modified. The modification of the feeding system plays also a role of ensuring the stability of propellant supply and two step ignition sequence of combustion chamber. The one-axis thrust measurement system of up to 60tons has been newly manufactured and installed in test stand and the water/kerosene supply lines with high pressure vessel of $4m^3$ and gas nitrogen vessel of $10m^3$ have been designed for regenerative cooling system. The results of cold flow test show that this facility has been successfully improved to satisfy the requirement for hot firing test of high performance combustor.

  • In a diesel engine, air-fuel mixture formation and ignition delay period have great influence on the performance of engine. Their main factors are combustion chamber shape, fuel injection system. air volume, air flow and so on. So, the combustion process in the cylinder is complex because of many factors which have direct and indirect effects on it. In this study, we take into consideration of scavenging pressure and scavenging temperature that are hewn as the main factor to the combustion process of two-stroke D.1. diesel engine. It is taken a picture of the combustion flame process for combustion chamber of re-entrant type and cylindrical type. So, it is applied to the basis data of combustion chamber design from an image analysis.

  • 원자력발전소의 밀폐된 다중 구획에서 환기부족화재에 대한 FDS 검증이 수행되었다. 수치결과는 OECD/NEA PRISME 프로젝트를 통해 얻어진 실험결과와 비교되었다. 환기시스템의 수치 경계조건 및 FDS에 적용된 소화모델이 구획 내부의 열적 및 화학적특성에 미치는 영향이 상세히 논의되었다. 점화 및 소화 단계에서 구획 내부의 급격한 압력변동에 의해 변화될 수 있는 환기 유량의 수치 경계조건은 다중 구획 내부의 온도, 열유속에는 큰 영향을 주지 않지만, 농도의 정확한 예측을 위하여 주위 깊게 고려되어야 한다. FDS에 적용된 소화모델의 기본값은 인위적인 소화 및 재점화 현상을 동반하며, 해당 연료에 대한 수정된 소화모델의 정보가 적용되었을 때 환기부족화재에 대한 FDS의 결과는 실험결과를 매우 잘 예측하고 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 고전력 변압기에 설치되어있는 가스계 소화설비는 초기 화재에는 대응할 수 있지만 소화후 다시 발화되는 화재에 대하여는 아무런 대책이 될 수 없다. 따라서 초기 소화와 재발화된 화재의 소화 또는 재발화 방지가 가능한 소화 및 냉각시스템이 변압기에 필요할 것이다. 이러한 시스템으로 미분무수 설비가 선택되었으며, 본 연구에서는 주로 소화특성에 대하여 기술한다. 시험 대상으로 특정한 고압과 저압시스템을 선정하여 그 소화능력을 비교하였다. 변압기실은 약 $10m\times10m\times$의 공간이며 변압기의 크기는 이 공간의 $7\%$정도이다. 실물규모의 소화실험이 6개의 화재시나리오 (2개의 분무화재, 3개의 풀 화재, 1개의 흐름화재)에 의하여 수행되었으며, 고압시스템이 저압시스템에 비하여 산소희석 및 냉각효과 측면에서 우수한 소화특성을 나타내었다.

Ar과 $CO_2$ 첨가에 따른 디젤기관의 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on Diesel Engine Performance with Ar and $CO_2$ Addition)

  • The re quest to develop the engines that are able to run without air or with very little oxygen condition is raised with the interest of ocean science or the mines. This research had already be gun before the world war II, but had been stagnant owing to the appearance of nuclear power. Recycle diesel engines have ability to run under the above mentioned condition the recycle diesel engine recirculates exhaust gases into intake port and consumes additional oxygen supplied by oxygen tank. Carbon dioxide is controlled by the absorber. The combustion and emission characteristics of recycle diesel engines are quite different with conventional one because the working fluids of recycle diesel engines consist of Ar, $CO_2$ and $O_2$ as well as $N_2$. Recycle diesel engine is therefore different with general diesel engine from the viewpoint of intake air composition. It is required to investigate the effect of intake composition in the combustion and emission to know recycle diesel engine. In this study, NOx concentration, smoke and cylinder pressure are measured with the variation of Ar and $CO_2$ Reduces show that the addition of Ar reduces NOx but increases smoke. Otherwise $CO_2$ reduces smoke and NOX simultaneously. Only $CO_2$ increases the ignition delay and both gases increase fuel consumption Ar addition is superior to $CO_2$ addition for the performance of recycle diesel engine system but $CO_2$ has the avantage with respect to emission.
