  • According to the 7-th curriculum, irrational number should be introduced using repeating decimals in 8-th grade mathematics. To do so, the relation between rational numbers and repeating decimals such that a number is rational number if and only if it can be represented by a repeating decimal, should be examined closely Since this relation lacks clarity in some text books, irrational numbers have only slight relation with repeating decimals in those books. Furthermore, some text books introduce irrational numbers showing that $\sqrt{2}$ is not rational number, which is out of 7-th curriculum. On the other hand, if we use numeral 0 as a repetend, many results related to repeating decimals can be represented concisely. In particular, the treatments of order relation with repeating decimals in 8-th grade text books must be reconsidered.

  • According to the 7th curriculum, irrational numbers should be introduced using infinite decimals in 9th grade. To do so, the relation between rational numbers and decimals should be explained in 8th grade. Preceding studies remarked that middle school students could understand the relation between rational numbers and decimals through the division appropriately. From the point of view with the arithmetic handling activity, I analyzed that the integers and terminating decimals was explained as decimals with repeating 0s or 9s. And, I reviewed the equivalent relations between irrational numbers and non-repeating decimals, rational numbers and repeating decimals. Furthermore, I suggested an alternative method of introducing irrational numbers.

  • Purpose - As the interest of financial aria increase in economic change and labor market change, this study focused on the employee of the financial aria in Korea. The purpose of this study is to analyses relation among relationship variable and organizational culture variable and organizational effectiveness of financial aria employees in Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - This study measured relationship variable with communication and trust. And measured organizational culture variable with innovation, relation, hierarchy and rational. And measured organizational effectiveness with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Empirical analysis is conducted using 442 financial aria employees of 7th HCCP in KRIVET. And SPSS is used in frequency and stepwise regression test and AMOS is used in path analysis with group differentiation test. Results - Overall results show that trust and relation culture give positive influence on job satisfaction. Organizational commitment results show that relation culture and rational culture give positive influence and also job satisfaction. However, hierarchy culture gives negative influence on organizational commitment. Also, the moderating effect of work characteristics is significant. Conclusions -Result of this study give managerial implication to HRM and also expend inflected organizational culture study to financial aria in Korea. Especially gives insight to relationship, organizational culture and organizational effectiveness. And management differentiation needs between work characteristic.

  • For a detailed investigation of the dynamic behaviour of slender bridges under wind action especially the motion-induced fluid forces should be available not only for harmonic motions but also for more general ones. If linear transfer behaviour is assumed, the force-displacement relation for almost arbitrary motions can be handled in the frequency domain using aerodynamic transfer functions. In aerospace engineering as well as in bridge engineering, these functions are usually approximated by special kinds of complex-valued rational functions which depend on complex frequencies. The quality of this approximation is evaluated for several bridge cross sections in this article. It is shown that rational functions are for some sections scarcely suitable to realistically represent the transfer behaviour of motion-induced aerodynamic forces for arbitrarily complex frequencies.

  • Using a simple recurrence relation, we give a new method to compute the Jones polynomials of closed braids: we find a general expansion formula and a rational generating function for the Jones polynomials. The method is used to estimate the degree of the Jones polynomials for some families of braids and to obtain general qualitative results.

  • This paper introduces a relation to determine the span ratio between exterior and interior spans, which is strongly required in the preliminary design stage of bridges constructed by Free Cantilever Method (FCM). A relation for the initial tendon force is derived on the basis of an assumption that no vertical deflection occurs at the far end of a cantilever beam due to the balanced condition between the self-weight and the cantilever tendons. In advance, the span ratio can be determined by using an assumption that the negative maximum moment must be the same with the positive maximum moment along the entire spans to be a rational bridge design. Finally, many rigorous lime-dependent analyses are conducted to establish the validity of the introduced relations. The obtained numerical results show that the rational design of FCM bridges may be achieved when the span length ratio of the exterior span to the interior span ranges about 0.75 to 0.8.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate communication styles in married couples. The subjects are a total of 301 couples living in Seoul. The main results are summarized as follows: 1. The styles of marital communication are consisted of 5 factors which are reproachful attitude, rational attitude, concessive attitude, unilateral attitude, and unconcerned attitude. 2. The styles of marital communication are classified into 5 styles in husbands which are arbitrary style, obeident style, authoritarian style, unconcerned style, and respectful style, and in wives, 4 styles which are arbitrary style, obeident style, unconcerned style, and respectful style. 3. The husband's arbitrary style and wives' unconcerned style are differently perceived by husbands and wives. 4. The relations of marital communication styles are classified into 3 relations which are supplementary relation, antagonistic relation, and equal relation. 5. In the case of equal relation and supplementary relation in comparison with antagonistic relation, husbands satisfy more with their wives' communication. And in the case of antagonistic relation in comparison with supplementary relation, husbands and wives want more to change of spouses' communication. 5. The relations of marital communication styles are affected in husbans by education, in wives by age, and family life cycle.

  • Rational parameterization of curves and surfaces is one of the main topics in computer-aided geometric design because of their computational advantages. Pythagorean hodograph (PH) curves and Minkowski Pythagorean hodograph (MPH) curves have attracted many researcher's interest because they provide for rational representation of their offset curves in Euclidean space and Minkowski space, respectively. In [10], Kim presented the characterization of the PH curves in the Euclidean space and analyzed the relation between the class of PH curves and the class of rational curves. In this paper, we extend the characterization of PH curves in [10] into that of MPH curves in the general Minkowski space and consider some generalized MPH curves satisfying this characterization.

  • In this paper we consider voting analysis in the political science in connection with $B_n$(or $M_n${0, 1}), the semigroup of the binary relations on X with n elements. We also consider it in connection with $M_n$(F) (or $B_n$(F)), the semigroup of all fuzzy binary relations on X. Also we establish a possibility theorem and an impossibility theorem in voting analysis based on preferences in $B_n$ and $M_n$(F).

  • The purpose of this study were to clarify differences in information processing type in relation to the consumer knowledge and involvement of apparel and to clarify differences in demographic characteristics in relation to the information processing type of consumer. The subjects of this study were female adults who lived in Seoul, Kyunggi or Incheon areas and Quota sampling using age and residential areas was employed. Major statistical methods were Chi square test and discriminant analysis. The results were as follows: 1. Consumer knowledge was found to be significantly related to the classification of information processing type. Low knowledge group tended to process infarmation rationally but high knowledge group utilized both rational and experiential process. 2. Consumer involvement was found to be significantly related to the classification of information processing type. Low involvement group tended to process information passively. High involvement group utilized both rational and experiential process 3. Information processing type was related to consumer's demographic characteristics such as age, education level, marriage, and purchase expense of apparel
