Rapid progress in modern computer industries now enables us to solve the Einstein equations numerically. In the first part of this paper we briefly review how to deal with those equations in relativistic astrophysics and cosmology. In the second part we introduce two examples-the Centrella and Wilson's cosmology and the Shapiro and Teukolsky's relativistic stellar cluster.
The main purpose of this article is to compare different mapping techniques, so that an appropriate one may be chosen for a particular cave. Ultra-accurate techniques such as using tripods are not discussed here, as their application is limited to a small minority of caves. Most modem mapping is carried out under time restraints, due to the shortness of an expedition or the difficulty of a cave; thus, rapid mapping techniques are emphasized here.(omitted)
In Korea, a regulation of visual impact evaluation on development plan in natural environment is provided at the Natural Environment Conservation Act, but it was difficult to obtained the effectiveness enough to conserve natural landscape. So, the visual impact review on development plan is introduced to the act, through the revision of the Natural Environment Conservation Act in 2005. The basic directions of visual impact review are preservation, restoration, view protection, and harmony. The items of review are as follows; (1) development alternations for the provided plan, (2) executive reduction plan of visual impacts including consideration of growth of plants, (3) deliberation process between persons or parties concerned, etc. For rapid settlement of visual impact review system, it needs that the validity, the reliability, and the objectivity should be confirmed through steady research about reasonable guidance of review.
The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), including deep learning, has led to the development of technologies that may assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, prediction of disease risk and prognosis, health index monitoring, drug development, and healthcare management and administration. However, in order for AI technology to improve the quality of medical care, technical problems and the efficacy of algorithms should be evaluated in real clinical environments rather than the environment in which algorithms are developed. Further consideration should be given to whether these models can improve the quality of medical care and clinical outcomes of patients. In addition, the development of regulatory systems to secure the safety of AI medical technology, the ethical and legal issues related to the proliferation of AI technology, and the impacts on the relationship with patients also need to be addressed. Systematic training of healthcare personnel is needed to enable adaption to the rapid changes in the healthcare environment. An overall review and revision of undergraduate medical curriculum is required to enable extraction of significant information from rapidly expanding medical information, data science literacy, empathy/compassion for patients, and communication among various healthcare providers. Specialized postgraduate AI education programs for each medical specialty are needed to develop proper utilization of AI models in clinical practice.

Background: Frequent outbreaks of foodborne illness have been increased awareness of food safety. CDC estimates that each year roughly 48 million people gets sick, 128,000 are hospitalized and 3,000 die of foodborne diseases in US. In Korea, 6,058 were hospitalized and 266 incidents were reported in 2012. It is required to develop rapid methods to identify hazard substances in food products for protecting and maintaining safety of the public health. However, conventional methods for pathogens detection and identification involve prolonged multiple enrichment steps. Purpose: This review aims to provide information on biosensors to detect pathogens in food products to enhance food safety. Results: Foodborne outbreaks continue to occur and outbreaks from various food sources have increased the need for simple, rapid, and sensitive methods to detect foodborne pathogens. Conventional methods for foodborne pathogens detection require tremendous amount of labor and time. Biosensors have drawn attentions in recent years because of their ability to detect analytes sensitively and rapidly. Principles along with their advantages and disadvantages of a variety of food safety biosensors including fiber optic biosensor, impedimetric biosensor, surface Plasmon resonance biosensor, and nano biosensor were explained. Also, future trends for the food safety biosensors were discussed.
Objective: To identify the available evidence on the effects of rapid maxillary expansion (RME) with three-dimensional imaging and provide meta-analytic data from studies assessing the outcomes using computed tomography. Methods: Eleven electronic databases were searched, and prospective case series were selected. Two authors screened all titles and abstracts and assessed full texts of the remaining articles. Seventeen case series were included in the quantitative synthesis. Seven outcomes were investigated: nasal cavity width, maxillary basal bone width, alveolar buccal crest width, alveolar palatal crest width, inter-molar crown width, inter-molar root apex width, and buccopalatal molar inclination. The outcomes were investigated at two-time points: post-expansion (2-6 weeks) and post-retention (4-8 months). Mean differences and 95% confidence intervals were used to summarize and combine the data. Results: All the investigated outcomes showed significant differences post-expansion (maxillary basal bone width, +2.46 mm; nasal cavity width, +1.95 mm; alveolar buccal crest width, +3.90 mm; alveolar palatal crest width, +3.09 mm; intermolar crown width, +5.69 mm; inter-molar root apex width, +2.85 mm; and dental tipping, +3.75°) and post-retention (maxillary basal bone width, +2.21 mm; nasal cavity width, +1.55 mm; alveolar buccal crest width, +3.57 mm; alveolar palatal crest width, +3.32 mm; inter-molar crown width, +5.43 mm; inter-molar root apex width, +4.75 mm; and dental tipping, 2.22°) compared to pre-expansion. Conclusions: After RME, skeletal expansion of the nasomaxillary complex was greater in most caudal structures. Maxillary basal bone showed 10% post-retention relapse. During retention period, uprighting of maxillary molars occurred.

Cylindrical grinding is one of the important metal cutting processes used extensively in the finishing operation of discrete components. The inherent high cutting temperature in grinding if not controlled may lead to rapid tool wear, which in turn will lead to dimensional inaccuracy. The very nature of the grinding mechanism in material removal impairs the grounded surfaces by inducing residual stress, micro cracks and other thermal damages at the machined surface. This paper is an attempt to review some of the surface integrity issues in cylindrical grinding taken up and reported by number of researchers over the years. This review may have been planned to be useful to the researchers and other professionals interested to work on grinding.

This article aims to introduce the inception and operation of the COVID-19 International Collaborative Research Project, the world's first coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) open data project for research, along with its dataset and research method, and to discuss relevant considerations for collaborative research using nationwide real-world data (RWD). COVID-19 has spread across the world since early 2020, becoming a serious global health threat to life, safety, and social and economic activities. However, insufficient RWD from patients was available to help clinicians efficiently diagnose and treat patients with COVID-19, or to provide necessary information to the government for policy-making. Countries that saw a rapid surge of infections had to focus on leveraging medical professionals to treat patients, and the circumstances made it even more difficult to promptly use COVID-19 RWD. Against this backdrop, the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) of Korea decided to open its COVID-19 RWD collected through Korea's universal health insurance program, under the title of the COVID-19 International Collaborative Research Project. The dataset, consisting of 476 508 claim statements from 234 427 patients (7590 confirmed cases) and 18 691 318 claim statements of the same patients for the previous 3 years, was established and hosted on HIRA's in-house server. Researchers who applied to participate in the project uploaded analysis code on the platform prepared by HIRA, and HIRA conducted the analysis and provided outcome values. As of November 2020, analyses have been completed for 129 research projects, which have been published or are in the process of being published in prestigious journals.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of OraQuick tests in previously reported articles. Methods: The literature was searched using Pubmed Medline with keywords, such as "OraQuick" or "rapid HIV test". Articles that included the specificity and sensitivity of this device were reviewed. Results: A total of 11 journal articles including 3 domestic articles were reviewed. The sensitivity of the OraQuick Test was reported to be 97.8 to 100% and its specificity was 98.8 to 100%. Conclusion: The results indicated that the simple OraQuick assay has proven to be accurate and it can be used to detect patients with HIV and to prevent the spread of HIV on test screens.

Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma, which is one of the most aggressive tumors of the thyroid, has been seldomly reposted to have altered thyroid function. There have been few reports of patients with anaplastic thyroid cancer presenting in a hyperthyroid state. In the literatures, the mechanism of hyperthyroidism in anaplastic thyroid cancer is supposed that the rapid invasive growth of cancer seems to cause destruction of thyroid tissue and develops a hyperthyroid state, which is thought to be anlalogous to that of subacute thyroiditis and several types of metastatic cancer of the thyroid: rapid tissue necrosis with resultant release of thyroid hormone. Recently, we experienced a case of anaplastic thyroid cancer presenting with rapid growing mass and hyperthyroidism in a 67-year-old woman and report it with the review of the literatures.
