Fitness is Recovered with the Decline of Dimethachlon Resistance in Laboratory-induced Mutants of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum after Long-term Cold Storage

  • After four years of cold storage, dimethachlon resistance of two laboratory-induced resistant Sclerotinia sclerotiorum isolates SCG7 and LA50 declined by 99.5% and 98.9%, respectively, and cross resistance to iprodione and procymidone also declined dramatically. Along with the decline of fungicide resistance, osmotic sensitivity to sodium chloride and glucose decreased tremendously; mycelial growth rate, sclerotia number and weight per potato dextrose agar (PDA) plate increased on average by 118.6%, 85. 5% and 64.5%, respectively; and virulence to detached leaves of oilseed rape increased by 72.7% on average. Significant negative correlations were detected between dimethachlon resistance levels and mycelial growth rate on PDA (r = -0.980, P = 0.021), and between resistance levels and lesion diameters on detached leaves of oilseed rape plants (r = -0.997, P = 0.002). These results have profound implications for assessing the potential risk for resistance development to dicarboximide fungicides in S. sclerotiorum.

특용작물 품종 및 재배기술의 1962년 이후 변천 (Changes in Variety and Cultural Practices of Industrial Crops Since 1962 in Korea)

  • Researches on industrial crops in Korea before 1962 were concentrated on fiber crops such as cotton, kenaf, hemp, ramie and flax. Then research works on oil crops, sugar crops and other high income crops were followed. However, no land is shared for the production of kenaf, flax, sugar beet, sweet sorghum and sunflower at present in Korea, while the cultivation of cotton, hemp, ramie and mat rush is decreasing continuously to the marginal point. At present researches are emphasized on oil crops such as seasame, peanut and perilla and high income medicinal herbs of which cultivating acreages are increasing. Numerous varieties were released as a result of active breeding works on industrial crops since 1962, i.e. 3 sesame varieties including "Suweon 21", 3 peanut varieties including "Seoduntangkong", and 6 rape varieties including "Yudal" in oil crops, one cotton variety "Mokpo 7", one hemp variety "MS4-1", and one kenaf variety "Suweon 2" in fiber crops, and two stevia varieties "Suweon 2" and "Suweon II" in sugar crops. Quality improvement of rape seeds and development of hybrid rapes utilizing male sterile lines are the most significant results of breeding works, while the establishment of vinyl mulching cultivation of sesame and peanut are the most successful results in agronomic researches during the last 20 years.re the most successful results in agronomic researches during the last 20 years.

Greening에 따른 유채 자엽의 엽록소-단백질 복합체 형성 (Formation of Chlorophyll-Protein Complexes in Greening Rape Cotyledons)

  • The formation of chlorophyll-protein complexes (CP-complexes) during the greening of rape cotyledons (Brassica napus cv. Yongdang) was investigated by the SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The total chlorophyll content and Chl a/b ratio were also determined. In addition, the effects of dark treatment on the CP-complex patterns during greening have been examined with respect to their photosynthetic electron transport activity. Greening has brought about the increasein total chlorophyll content and the decrease in Chl a/b ratio, but there have been no changes in Chl a/b ratio after 24 hrs of greening. The light-harvesting chlorophyll a/b-protein complex (LHCP-complex0 was predominant during the initial greening period. Thereafter, the amout of chlorophyll a-protein complex (CP I-complex) was gradually increased. Twenty-four-hr dark treatment immediately after illumination for 6 hrs and 12 hrs resulted in the increase of the Chl a/b ration and the CP I complex, otherwise the decrease of the LHCP-complex. The LHCP/CP I ratio was gradually decreased with further greening, and appeared no change after 48 hrs illumination. The investigation of the photosynthetic electron transport activity indicated that photosystem (PS) II activity (H2Olongrightarrowp-PD*+FeCy**) did not change, but the activity of PS I was increased suddenly due to the dark treatment. The data suggests that the increase of CP I-complex may result in that of P-700, that is, the increase of PS I activity.

유채의 도복이 수량과 주요형질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Lodging on Yield and Important Agronomic Characters in Rape)

  • 본시험은 우리나라 환경하에서 생육시기에 따른 도복정도가 유채의 수양 및 주요형질에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 현장여품종인 용당과 목포29 호를 공시하여 개화전, 개화후 성숙전에 75$\circ$, 45$\circ$, 15$\circ$ 도복처리, 하여 수행하였다. 기결과 도서시기가 빠를수록 도복정도가 클수록 수량 등 대부분의 주요형질에 미치는 영향은 매우 컸다. 인위적으로 도복이 심하게 발생한 구에서 초장, 분지수는 증가하는 반면, 천입중, 협수 입수는 감소하여 종실수량에서 평균 29%의 감수를 나타냈다. 특히 개화전의 75$\circ$도복구는 대조구보다 평균 약60%의 수량감소를 보였다. 따라서 유채에서의 도복방지연구는 함으로 생육량이 큰 다수성 F_1 품종의 육성 보급을 위해 종합적으로 연구가 뒷받침 되어야한다고 사료된다.

겨울유채의 개화습성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Characterisitics of Flowering in Winter Rape)

  • 유채의 개화습성을 용당품종을 공시하여 분석한 결과를 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 1. 개체당 총개화수는 1,400~l,500개이었고 개화는 4월13일에 시작하였으며, 개체당 개화소요 일수는 30일이었다. 2. 개체당 협수는 560~630게 정도이었고 개체당 1차 분지는 18~20개이었다. 3. 협을 형성하는데 평균 5일이 소요되있고 분지의 부위에 따른 개화속도는 차이가 없었다. 4. 분지별 개화기간은 상부분지로 갈수록 0.45일씩 단축되었고 분지부위가 상위로 갈수록 협수는 1개 정도씩 감소했다. 5. 유분함량은 하부와 상부분지에서 높고 중부분지에서는 유의하게 낮았다.
