  • A combination procedure of successive occasions sampling and randomized response method is investigated. Randomized response technique is very simple for use in a telephone survey of a sensitive subject. In the suggested randomized response method. the interviewee replies "yes" or "no" to a randomly selected question and the investigator can estimate the proportion of "yes" or "no" answer. When this procedure is used on successive occasions, not only the proportion supporting a candidate and the time change in this supporting proportion can be derived but also the voters' swing in the trend of voters' support can be estimated. A numerical example is given to show how the suggested sampling strategy can be applied to a practical telephone survey.

  • Asking sensitive questions by a direct survey method causes non-response bias and response bias. Non-response bias arises from interviewees refusal to respond and response bias arises from giving incorrect responses. To rectify these biases, Warner (1965) introduced a randomized response model which is an alternative survey method for socially undesirable or incriminating behavior questions. The randomized response model is a procedure for collecting the information on sensitive characteristics without exposing the identity of the respondent. Many survey researchers have proposed diverse variants of the Warner randomized response model and applied their model to collect the information of sensitive questions. Using an optimal allocation, we proposed three-stage stratified randomized response technique which is an extension of the Kim and Elam (2005) two-stage stratified randomized response technique. In this study, we showed that the estimator based on the proposed response model is more efficient than Kim and Elam (2005). But by adding one more survey step to the Kim and Elam (2005), our proposed model may have relatively less privacy protection compared to the Kim and Elam (2005) model.

  • In this paper, we suggest and implement an internet survey system cooperating the randomized response technique(RRT). We compare it with the direct survey. RRT is an indirect survey method to get true information from the respondent who is conceived to have sensitive character without revealing his/her status. We implement our system(method) based a data-base system, so it common all kind of data obtained through internet surveys. This system also can be used in spot survey independently.

  • In surveys on sensitive issues which respondents are unwilling to answer, response bias usually occur since respondents tend to answer untruthfully or evade answer. Warner(19650 introduced the Randomized Response Technique (RRT) which protected the privacy of the individual respondent to reduce these response biases. Though this technique are theoretically good it has some problems in applying this technique to field survey. Therefore in order to apply easily RRT to practical survey we present the practical plan through comparing and analyzing the several cases which RRT was applied. Also we take the field survey according to this plan.

  • This paper is planned to use multi-proportions randomized response model for sensitive information on internet survey. This is an indirect response technique as a way of obtaining much more precise information. In this system we consider that respondents are generally reluctant to answer in a survey to get sensitive information targeting employees, customers, etc.

  • Recently, it is shown that the unrelated quest ion randomized response models proposed by Moors (1971), Folsom et al.(1973), Greenberg et al.(1971) are in capable of protecting the privacy of the respondent. Thus, in this paper, we review recent days research tendency. Also modification model of Mahmood et al.(1998) is proposed, and we show th at this model is more efficient than Greenberg et al.(1969). Furthermore we treat the privacy protection based on Lanke's (1975) risk of suspicion measure.

  • We suggest a method to procure information from the sensitive population which combine a direct survey method, BB and an indirect survey one, RRT, and a combined estimator that uses the stratified double sampling to estimate the sensitive parameter. We compare the efficiency of our estimator with that of Mangat and Singh model.

  • In surveys on certain social problems which are sensitive in nature, many techniques have been introduced in order to protect evasive or untruthful answers. We suggest a multiple trial randomized response technique(MRRT) and it turns out that MRRT is feasible and more efficient by reducing the variance of the estimate than single trial RRT's investigated by Warner(1965), Mangat & Singh(1990), Mangat(1994).

  • In this paper, the proportion of durg-abuse and gas/bond-inhalation among the high school students in Kwangju and Chonnam has been estimated using the survey of the Black-Box method and randomized response technique. We have analyzed empirically the effects of both methods for the surveys of sensitive characters.
