  • In this study, reflection coefficients of regular and random waves propagating over multi-arrayed trenchs are calculated respectively. When the row of trench is 3, the reflection coefficient of regular waves is more than 0.7 as maximum value. Similarly, when the row of trench is 3 and $d/L_1$ is 0.22, reflection coefficient of multi-directional random waves is more than 0.4 maximally.

  • Recently, there has been an increasing social concern over the use of random reward game items. In this paper, we try to understand the effect of using random reward game on adolescents based on the survey data over a year. In addition, regression analysis was conducted to examine how socio-psychological variables affect the game addiction of adolescents according to use of random reward games. As a result of analysis, it was found that the random reward game use group had lower self esteem and higher material value than the normal game use group. Also, self esteem and material value have a significant effect on game addiction. And finally, the results and implications were discussed.

  • In this paper, we propose an improved practical encryption and fault-tolerance decryption method using a non-negative value key and random function obtained with a white noise by using iterative phase wrapping method. A phase wrapping operating key, which is generated by the product of arbitrary random phase images and an original phase image. is zero-padded and Fourier transformed. Fourier operating key is then obtained by taking the real-valued data from this Fourier transformed image. Also the random phase wrapping operating key is made from these arbitrary random phase images and the same iterative phase wrapping method. We obtain a Fourier random operating key through the same method in the encryption process. For practical transmission of encryption and decryption keys via Internet, these keys should be intensity maps with non-negative values. The encryption key and the decryption key to meet this requirement are generated by the addition of the absolute of its minimum value to each of Fourier keys, respectively. The decryption based on 2-f setup with spatial filter is simply performed by the inverse Fourier transform of the multiplication between the encryption key and the decryption key and also can be used as a current spatial light modulator technology by phase encoding of the non-negative values. Computer simulations show the validity of the encryption method and the robust decryption system in the proposed technique.

  • The effect of 1/f noise by the random telegraph signal(RTS) on the phase noise and the jitter of CMOS ring Oscillator is investigated. 10 parallel piece-wise-linear current sources connected to each node model the RTS signals. The In, the power spectral density and the jitter of output of the ring oscillator are simulated as functions of the amplitude and time constant of RTS current source. It is confirmed that the increase of amplitude of RTS is directly related to the increase of the width of phase noise md the value of jitter. The shorter the time constant is, the wider width of FET peak and the larger value of cycle to cycle jitter are.

  • An animated ink diffusion on paper is simulated through making a multiple sessions of random walks. The simulated random walk is built and validated against the diffusion model, then animated by varying the intensity thresholds of the accumulated visit counts on each pixels on an image. Two different random walk models are built one of which is a free random walk in that the walker has exactly same probability to move in any four or eight directions in each step. The other is a biased random walk that has a higher chance to go to a pixel that has more similar intensity value. The latter can be used to simulate an ink diffusion radiating through different texture of paper.

  • Many image edge details are easily lost in the image denoising process, and the smooth image regions are prone to produce jagged. In this paper, we propose a wavelet-based image global k- singular value decomposition variational method to remove image noise. A layer of wavelet decomposition is applied to the noisy image first. Then, the image global k-singular value decomposition (IGK-SVD) method is used to remove the random noise of low-frequency components. Furthermore, a constructed variational denoising method (VDM) removes the random noise in the high-frequency component. Finally, the denoised image is obtained by wavelet reconstruction. The experimental results show that the proposed method's peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) value is higher than other methods, and its structural similarity (SSIM) value is closer to one, indicating that the proposed method can effectively suppress image noise while retaining more image edge details. The denoised image has better denoising effects.

  • We investigate the averaging value of a random sampling ${\zeta}(1/2+iX_t)$ of the Riemann zeta function on the critical line. Our result is that if $X_t$ is an increasing random sampling with Poisson distribution, then $${\mathbb{E}}{\zeta}(1/2+iX_t)=O({\sqrt{\;log\;t}}$$, for all sufficiently large t in ${\mathbb{R}}$.

  • There are several potential error sources that can affect the estimation of the position of an object using combined vision and acceleration measurements. Two of the major sources, accelerometer dynamics and random noise in both sensor outputs, are considered. Using a second-order model, the errors introduced by the accelerometer dynamics are reduced by the smaller value of damping ratio and larger value of natural frequency. A Kalman filter approach was developed to minimize the influence of random errors on the position estimate. Experimental results for the end-point movement of a flexible beam confirmed the efficacy of the Kalman filter algorithm.

  • In this paper, free vibration of rotating beam with random properties is studied. The cross-sectional area, elasticity modulus, moment of inertia, shear modulus and density are modeled as random fields and the rotational speed as a random variable. To study uncertainty, stochastic finite element method based on second order perturbation method is applied. To discretize random fields, the three methods of midpoint, interpolation and local average are applied and compared. The effects of rotational speed, setting angle, random property variances, discretization scheme, number of elements, correlation of random fields, correlation function form and correlation length on "Coefficient of Variation" (C.O.V.) of first mode eigenvalue are investigated completely. To determine the significant random properties on the variation of first mode eigenvalue the sensitivity analysis is performed. The results are studied for both Timoshenko and Bernoulli-Euler rotating beam. It is shown that the C.O.V. of first mode eigenvalue of Timoshenko and Bernoulli-Euler rotating beams are approximately identical. Also, compared to uncorrelated random fields, the correlated case has larger C.O.V. value. Another important result is, where correlation length is small, the convergence rate is lower and more number of elements are necessary for convergence of final response.

  • The data were collected in the dairy herd improvement program from January 2000 to July 2005. Test data included 825,157 records of first parity and animals with both parents known were included. This study aimed to describe the effect of incomplete lactation records of latest generation to the change in sire's breeding value using Random Regression model (RRM) in genetic evaluation. Estimation of genetic parameter and breeding value for sire used REMLF90 and BLUPF90 program. The phenotypic value on the number of test day records between group TD11, TD8, TD5, TD2 showed no large differences. For all the group heritability of test day milk yield range from 0.30 to 0.36. However TD2 group showed low heritability the least test day recode on the latest generation. The correlation of above 50% between test day and TD11(0.610), TD8(0.616), TD5(0.661) and TD2(0.682) with different records in latest generation. Sire's rank of breeding value varied widely depending on the records on the number of lactation from start to the latest generation. Study showed that change in breeding value ranked if daughter's test recode more so it should have at least 5 test day records. The use of RRM in dairy cattle genetic evaluation would be desirable if complete lactation records for latest generation daughters of young bulls when selection for proven bulls. Random Regression model (RRM) require at least 5 test-day lactation recode.
