HEVC 스트림 상에서의 객체 추적 방법 (Object Tracking in HEVC Bitstreams)

  • 동영상에서의 객체 추적은 보안, 색인 및 검색, 감시, 통신, 압축 등 다양한 분야에서 중요하다. 본 논문은 HEVC 비트스트림 상에서의 객체 추적 방법을 제안한다. 복호화를 수행하지 않고, 비트스트림 상에 존재하는 움직임 벡터(MV : Motion Vector)와 부호화 크기 정보를 Spatio-Temporal Markov Random Fields (ST-MRF) 모델에 적용해 객체 움직임의 공간적 및 시간적 특성을 반영한다. 변환계수를 특징점으로 활용하는 객체형태 조정 알고리즘을 적용해 ST-MRF 모델 기반 객체 추적방법에서 나타나는 과분할에 의한 오차전파 문제를 해결한다. 제안하는 방법의 추적성능은 정확도 86.4%, 재현율 79.8%, F-measure 81.1%로 기존방법 대비 평균 F-measure는 약 0.2% 향상하지만 기존방법에서 과분할 및 오차전파가 두드러지는 영상에 대해서는 최대 9% 정도의 성능향상을 보인다. 전체 수행시간은 프레임 당 평균 5.4ms이며 실시간 추적이 가능하다.

Lyman alpha radiative transfer at the epoch of cosmic reionization

  • We present a numerical code for the random scattering histories of Lyman alpha photons in the intergalactic medium. The numerical code calculates the radiative transfer under generic three dimensional density, ionization fraction, and peculiar velocity fields based on N-body + radiation transfer simulations of the epoch of reionization. The code is tested with models having analytical solutions, which have idealized geometry and simplified velocity fields. The emergent line profiles can give constraints to the ionization structure around Lyman alpha sources in the early universe.

  • Review of practical vibration test methods those applied in various industrial fields - such as automotive industry, electrics and electronics industry, defense industry and aerospace industry - is described on this paper. Swept sine test, random vibration test and advanced vibration techniques are explained according to their parametric values and also application fields of each test method are suggested by the characteristic of each method. For more proper application of each test method, standardized test specifications should be always reviewed and revised according to the transition of environmental factors.

  • 랜덤하중 하에서의 구분적선형시스템이 갖는 노이즈의 영향으로 인해 그 특성이 많이 감소되거나 소멸된 응답거동으로부터 chaos거동을 검출하는 방법을 개발, 분석하였다. 해양에서 구조물이 받는 파력은 결정론적이 아닌 추계론적이다. 바람, 파도 그리고 조류 등에 의한 파력은 유한도의 랜던성을 갖으며, 이러한 파력은 지배적인 조화가진하중과 정규 백색노이즈를 더함으로써 표현할 수 있다. 외적 동요를 받는 시스템의 응답거동은 그 거동이 방해를 받으며, 이로 인해 chaos응답거동을 확인하기가 어려우며, 그 거동의 특성이 일반적인 랜덤거동과 다를 바가 없다. 이러한 경우, 평균 포인케어맵을 이용하여 랜덤노이즈에 의해 발견되지 않는 chaos응답거동을 식별할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 직접수치시뮬레이션상에서 이러한 평균 포인케어맵을 만드는 방법을 개발하였으며, 얻어진 평균 포인케어맵의 적용범위에 대하여 분석하였다. 평균 포인케어맵은 노이즈가 포함된 조화가진하중을 받는 시스템의 chaos응답거동을 확인하는데 있어서 노이즈의 강도가 높을 때 일반적인 포인케어맵만으로는 놓칠 수 있는 chaos응답거동을 성공적으로 확인할 수 있음을 알아내었다. 또한 시스템의 응답거동에서 chaos의 특성이 완전히 사라지는 노이즈의 강도를 얻을 수 있음도 알아내었다.

MEAN VALUES OF DERIVATIVES OF L-FUNCTIONS IN FUNCTION FIELDS: IV

  • In this series, we investigate the calculation of mean values of derivatives of Dirichlet L-functions in function fields using the analogue of the approximate functional equation and the Riemann Hypothesis for curves over finite fields. The present paper generalizes the results obtained in the first paper. For µ ≥ 1 an integer, we compute the mean value of the µ-th derivative of quadratic Dirichlet L-functions over the rational function field. We obtain the full polynomial in the asymptotic formulae for these mean values where we can see the arithmetic dependence of the lower order terms that appears in the asymptotic expansion.

  • 3D geometric modeling of an object of interest has been intensively investigated in many fields including CAD/CAM and computer graphics. Traditionally, CAD and geometric modeling tools are widely used to create geometric models that have nearly the same shape of 3D real objects or satisfy designers intent. Recently, with the help of the reverse engineering (RE) technology, we can easily acquire 3D point data from the objects and create 3D geometric models that perfectly fit the scanned data more easily and fast. In this paper, we present 3D geometric model generation based on a stereo vision system (SVS) using random pattern projection. A triangular mesh is considered as the resulting geometric model. In order to obtain reasonable results with the SVS-based geometric model generation, we deal with many steps including camera calibration, stereo matching, scanning from multiple views, noise handling, registration, and triangular mesh generation. To acquire reliable stere matching, we project random patterns onto the object. With experiments using various random patterns, we propose several tips helpful for the quality of the results. Some examples are given to show their usefulness.

  • Vibration testing is conducted for evaluate the fatigue resistance of responsible system over excitation situations and two kinds of vibration profiles, harmonic or random, are widely used in engineering fields. Harmonic excitation profile is adequate for the rotating machinery that is primarily exposed to the orderly excited force subjected for a rotating speed; Random profile is suitable for the non-stationary vibration input, that is a ground excitation for example. Recently, the sine on random(SOR) testing method was sometimes considered to represent the real excitation conditions since the measured response signals of a target system, expecially for moving mobility, shows usually a mixture of them. So, it is important to understand the accumulated fatigue damage over different excitation patterns, harmonic and/or random, to determine the efficient vibration profile of a target system. A uniaxial vibration testing with a notched simple beam was introduced to evaluate the fatigue damage for different excitation profiles and the best choice of vibration profile was concluded from those comparison of calculated fatigue damages.

  • For a stationary field $\{X_{\b{j}},\b{j}{\;}\in{\;}{\mathbb{Z}}^d_{+}\}$ of associated random variables with distribution function $F(x)\;=\;P(X_{\b{1}}\;{\leq}\;x)$ we study strong consistency and asymptotic normality of the empirical distribution function, which is proposed as an estimator for F(x).
