The dynamics of the interaction between the wheel and rail must be considered when investigating the application of control strategy to a traction motor for high speed railway system. So this paper describes a dynamics model of the wheel rail adhesion characteristics and simple adhesion control strategy. Simulations are performed on the model of korea-high speed railway system using SIMULINK. With simple adhesion control strategy advanced characteristics of the system is showed in aspects of driveability.
For high speed railway vehicles, we consider a vibration of flexible track/wheel system. It is very important to deal with the complex phenomena of high-speed vehicles that can be occurred in the vertical vibration of the system. From a viewpoint of multibody dynamics, this kind of problem needs accurate analysis because the system includes mutual dynamic behaviors of rigid body and flexible body. The simulation technique for the complex problems is also discussed. We consider the high-speed translation, rail elasticity, elastic supports under the rail and contact rigidity. Eigen value analysis is also completed to verify the mechanism of the coupled vertical vibration of the system.
The possibility of resonance exists always in railway bridges unlike highway bridges because railway bridges are loaded repeatedly by specific trains which has equidistant wheel loads. Resonance phenomenon of the bridge can be broken out when exciting frequencies by tram determined from the speed and effective beating internal coincides with natural frequencies of the bridge Excessive fluctuations of dynamic displacements and accelerations by resonance cause unpleasant passenger comfort and instability of railway structures. On the other hand, resonance suppression phenomenon that all the previous loads which pass through the bridge sum to zero can be occurred. In case we apply this resonance suppression properly, design of stable railway bridge from dynamics point of view can be made. In the present study, most dominant beating internal of conventional trams will be find. A(ter that. specific span length of the bridge which derives resonance suppression can be selected for railway bridges which accomplishes superior dynamic behavior.
A liner numerical model of the wheel-rail interation and the track geometry is developed for multi-body dynamics program. The simulation results are very simulation to these of VAMPIRE simulation. This program can be used for the analysis of train dynamic performance.
The purpose of the present study is to develop conceptual design of a railway vehicle simulator based on a scaled model. Although the scaled simulator is limited in its ability to manipulate the full dynamics of a full-size railway vehicle, it has been known to have an advantage in that it could provide means of testing the fundamental dynamic behavior within a limited laboratory space and at low operation cost. The present study proposes a design strategy for a simulator so that a small scaled roller rig could be fabricated and operated in laboratory setting based on the design philosophy. The data obtained from experimental testing using a scale model can be used to verify and interpret the dynamic performance of full-scale railway vehicle by applying appropriate non-dimensional analysis.
Actual fire test under a laboratory and fire simulation by using computer are considered into main methodology in order to estimate and predict fire size of railway train. Even if practical fire size could be obtained from the full-model railway car test such as a large scale cone-calorimeter test, it is not always possible and realistic due to that expensive cost and attendant dangers could in no way be negligible. In this point of view, fire simulation analysis method based on the computational fluid dynamics could be proposed as an alternative and it seems to be also efficient and reasonable. However, simulation results have to be verified and validated in accordance with the proper procedure including comparing analysis with the actual fire test. In this paper, fire load and growth aspect was investigated through the room corner test (ISO 9705) for the mock-up model of the actual railway car. Then, it was compared with the output data derived from the simulation by using Pyrolysis Model of the FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator, by NIST) for the exact same domain and condition corresponding with pre-performed room-corner test. This preliminary verified and validated fire modeling method could enhance the reliability of output data derived from the fire simulation under the similar domain and condition.

We studied three dimension numerical analysis in the case that a train stops in tunnels by fire. And the 'Fluent 6.1' which is CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) program was used in this study. We compare the smog diffusion in single/double track ordinary railway tunnels with that in double track high speed railway tunnels in this study.
During the passage of the train, the railway bridge undergoes vibration and noise. The noise of railway bridge can be occurred from various sources. The wheel-rail contact, noise from machinery parts, structural-borne noise, pantagraph noise and aerodynamic noise of the train work in combination. Running train is one of the most important factors for railway bridge vibration. The repeated forces with equidistant axles cause the magnification of dynamic responses which relates with maintenance of the track structure and structure-borne noises. The noise problem is one of the most important issues in services of light rail transit system which usually passes through towns. In the present study, The vibration and noise of the LRT bridge will be investigated with utilizing dynamics responses from moving train as input data for noise analysis.

The dynamic load effects, generated by moving trains, are transferred to the railway bridges through tracks. The dynamic load effects may vary due to the dynamic characteristics of the applied vehicle loads and the railway bridges including the track system. However, the track models have been neglected or simplified by spring elements in the most studies since it is quite complicated to consider the track systems in the dynamic analysis models of railway bridges. In this study track system on railway bridges are modeled using a three-dimensional discrete-support model that can simulate the load carrying behavior of tracks. A 40m simply supported prestressed concrete box-girder system adopted for high-speed railway bridges are modeled for simulation works. The train models are composed of 20 cars for KTX. The dynamic response of railway bridges are found to be affected depending on whether the track model is considered for not. The influencing rate depends on the traveling speed and different wheel-axle distance. The dynamic bridge response decreases remarkably by the track systems around the resonant frequency. Therefore, the resonance effect can be reduced by modifying the track properties in the railway bridge, especially for KTX trains.
This paper addresses the numerical study on the dynamics of the High-speed EMU to enhance the ride quality. The 17 and 34 degrees-of-freedom (DOF) dynamic models for a single railway vehicle are proposed, and its vibrational characteristics according to the nonuniform rail profile are analyzed via Matlab. The validity of the proposed 34-DOF model are verified by comparing its dynamic characteristics and those from ADAMS/Rail. In addition, the critical dynamic parameters are identified by the parametric analysis, and rough design variables to reduce the vibration level of the railway vehicle are proposed. Finally, the frequency analysis - FFT - are conducted to extract the resonant frequencies, which have a significant influence on the determination of the critical speed of the railway vehicle. It is demonstrated that the results from the Matlab-based numerical analysis of the 34-DOF dynamic model are similar to those from ADAMS/Rail.
