Preparation, Characterization and Photoluminescence Properties of Ca1-xSrxS:Eu Red-emitting Phosphors for a White LED

  • A series of Ca1-xSrxS:Eu (x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0) phosphors were synthesized by solid-state reactions. The Ca1-xSrxS:Eu phosphors have a strong absorption at 455 nm, which corresponds to the emission wavelength of a blue LED. The emission peak of Ca1-xSrxS:Eu is blue shifted from 655 to 618 nm with increasing Sr content. The characteristics of Ca1-xSrxS:Eu phosphors make them suitable for use as wavelengthtunable red-emitting phosphors for three-band white LEDs pumped by a blue LED. In support of this, we fabricated a three-band white LED by coating SrGa2S4:Eu and Ca0.6Sr0.4S:Eu phosphors onto a blue LED chip, and characterized its optical properties.

  • The effect of A/B moi ratios and sintering temperatures on dielectric properties and microstructure of $(Ba_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})_m(Ti_{0.82}Zr_{0.18})O_3$ ceramics were investigated. The dielectric constant decreased with increasing the A/B mol ratio. However, the dielectric loss is improved. As the dielectric properties of A/B mol ratio with m = 1.009 at sintered temperature $1260^{\circ}C$, we obtained dielectric constant 12,800, dielectric loss $3.5\%$ and Y5V temperature characteristics. Highly reliable Ni-MLCCs, 1.6mm$(length){\time}0.8mm(width){\time}0.8mm$(height) with capacitance of 1.23 ${\mu}F$ and 야ssipation loss of $5.2\%$ were obtained employing dielectric material composed of $(Ba_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})_{1.009}(Ti_{0.82}Zr_{0.18})O_3$ - $MnO_2\;0.2wt\%-Y_2O_3\;0.18wt\%,\;-\;SO_2\;0.15wt\%-(Ba_{0.4}Ca_{0.6})SiO_3\;1wt\%$.

떡납줄갱이 Rhodeus notatus와 흰줄납줄개 R. ocellatus의 자연 종간잡종에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Natural Interspecific Hybrid between Rhodeus notatus and R. ocellatus)

  • 떡납줄갱이 Rhodeus notatus와 흰줄납줄개 R. ocellatus 간의 자연 잡종으로 추정되는 3개체를 충청남도 아산시 좌부동 곡교천의 지류인 온양천 일대에서 채집하였으며, 이들의 부모종을 명확히 판별하기 위하여 형태학적 및 분자계통학적 분석을 수행하였다. 자연 잡종 3개체의 체색은 등 쪽이 연한 녹갈색으로 떡납줄갱이의 연한 갈색과 흰줄납줄개의 진한 녹갈색의 중간 색상이었고, 등지느러미 앞쪽 상단 및 뒷지느러미 바깥 가장자리에 붉은색을 나타내는 면적은 떡납줄갱이와 흰줄납줄개 간의 중간 크기로 나타나 전반적으로 부모종 간의 중간형질을 나타냈다. 계측 및 계수형질의 경우, 자연 잡종은 체장에 대한 가슴지느러미 기점거리의 비, 뒷지느러미 기점거리의 비와 두장에 대한 문장의 비, 양안 간격의 비, 미병장의 비, 미병고의 비 그리고 종렬비늘수 등에서 이들의 고유한 형질이 나타난 것으로 분석되었다. 핵 DNA의 rag1 유전자 영역에서 자연 잡종 3개체는 떡납줄갱이와 흰줄납줄개 간의 단일염기다형성 부위를 모두 반영하는 것으로 분석되었으며, 미토콘드리아 DNA의 cytb 유전자 영역을 이용한 분자계통도에서는 떡납줄갱이와 동일한 유전적 clade를 형성하였다. 따라서, 본 연구에서 분석한 자연 잡종 추정 개체들은 암컷 떡납줄갱이와 수컷 흰줄납줄개 간의 종간 잡종으로 판별되었다.

Sepsis Mortality in CIITA Deficient Mice is Associated with Excessive Release of High-mobility Group Box 1

  • Background: Down regulation of major histocompatibility complex class II transactivator (CIITA) has been identified as a major factor of immunosuppression in sepsis and the level of CIITA expression inversely correlates with the degree of severity. However, it has not been fully elucidated whether the lower expression of CIITA is a cause of disease process or a just associated sign. Here we determined whether the CIITA deficiency decreased survival rate using murine sepsis model. Methods: Major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC-II) deficient, CIITA deficient and wild type B6 mice were subjected to cecal ligation puncture (CLP) surgery. CIITA and recombination activation gene (RAG)-1 double deficient mice were generated to test the role of lymphocytes in CIITA-associated sepsis progression. Results: Sepsis mortality was enhanced in CIITA deficient mice, not by impaired bacterial clearance resulted from CD4 T cell depletion, but hyper-inflammatory response such as excessive release of a pro-inflammatory cytokine, high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1). Conclusion: Our results demonstrate that CIITA deficiency affects the course of sepsis via the unexpected function of CIITA, regulation of cytokine release.

Cathodoluminescence and Longevity Properties of Potential Sr1-xMxGa2S4:Eu (M = Ba or Ca) Green Phosphors for Field Emission Displays

  • We report the cathodoluminescence and aging properties of a series of green phosphors of formula $Sr_{1-x}M_xGa_2S_4$:Eu (x = 0.0-1.0, M = Ba or Ca) that have potential applications in field emission displays (FEDs). The series of phosphors was synthesized via NaBr-aided solid-state reactions in a flowing $H_2S$ stream. A low level ($\sim$20%) of Ba or Ca substitution for Sr in $SrGa_2S_4$:Eu maintains the orthorhombic phase of pure $SrGa_2S_4$:Eu phosphors. Further, a low level ($\sim$20%) of Ba or Ca substitution for Sr in $SrGa_2S_4$:Eu provides various green colors and sufficient brightness for FED applications. Substitution of Ba or Ca for Sr in $SrGa_2S_4$:Eu also improved the stability of the phosphor when it was operated under electron-beam irradiation of 5 kV.

The Electric Properties of Surface Coating with CePO4 and M3(PO4)2 (M=Mg, Zn) on Li4Ti5O12 for Energy Storage Capacitor

  • The $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ of anode material for the hybrid capacitor was coated using $CePO_4$, $M_3(PO_4)_2$ (M=Mg, Zn). The capacitance of phosphate coated $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ was found to be lower than that of $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$, whereas the equivalent series resistance was higher than that of $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$. With an increase in cycle number, the base of cylindrical cell exhibited swelling due to gas generated from the reaction between $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ and electrolyte. The swelling cycle number of phosphate coated $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ was higher than that of $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ due to improvement in electrochemical stability. Based on the results, it is proposed that phosphate coating can be employed as a barrier layer to control the gassing reaction by isolating the $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ particle from electrolyte solution.

  • 현재 사용하고 있는 IPv4 주소 체계는 IP주소가 부족함에도 불구하고 서브넷팅 설계 시에 고정길이의 서브넷 마스크 사용으로 IP주소를 많이 낭비하고 있다. 이를 보완하는 한 방안으로 VLSM을 사용한다. 그러나 이 방법은 가변길이 서브넷 마스크 및 주소의 관리가 쉽지 않다. 본 연구는 VLSM기반에서 쉽고 효율적인 서브넷팅 IP주소 계산법 및 관리기법을 제안한다. 그리고, 제안하는 관리기법에 의해 웹 기반으로 서브넷 할당 및 관리 시스템을 실험적으로 설계하고 구현한다.

이동질량을 고려한 단순지지된 교량의 진동수 및 공진현상 분석 (The Effect of Moving Mass on Resonance Phenomenon and Natural Frequency of a Simply Supported Beam)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of moving mass on the vibration characteristics and the dynamic response of the simply supported beam. The three types of the moving mass(moving load, unsprung mass, and sprung mass) are applied to the vehicle-bridge interaction analysis. The numerical analyses are then conducted to evaluate the effect of the mass, spring and damper properties of the moving mass on natural frequencies and dynamic responses of the simply supported beam. Particularly, in the case of the sprung mass, variations of the natural frequency of simply supported beam are explored depending on the position of the moving mass and the frequency ratio of the moving mass and the beam. Finally the parametric studies on the resonance phenomena are performed with changing mass, spring and damper parameters through the dynamic interaction analyses.

자기부상열차의 모델링방법에 따른 열차-교량의 동적상호작용 해석 (Dynamic Interaction Analysis of Train and Bridge According to Modeling Methods of Maglev Trains)

  • 본 연구에서는 속도의 변화 그리고 모델링방법이 자기부상열차의 주행성에 미치는 영향을 파악하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위하여 2000:1의 처짐비를 가지는 동일한 교량 위를 속도를 변화시키면서(100km/h에서 700km/h까지 100km/h간격으로) 6가지 모델의 자기부상열차를 주행시키기 위하여 4자유도 6자유도 10자유도 차량에 대한 운동방정식을 구성하고 4계 룬지쿠타법을 적용하여 수치해석을 수행한다. 해석결과를 보면 속도가 낮을수록 보기 및 EMS의 개수가 많은 모델일 수록 자기부상열차의 주행성이 향상됨을 알 수 있다.

Magnetic Properties of Cr-doped LiNbO3 by Using the Projection Operator Technique

  • The electron spin resonance lineshape (ESRLS) function for the electron spin resonance linewidth (ESRLW) of $Cr^{3+}$ (S = 3/2) in ferroelectric lithium niobate single crystals doped with 0.05 wt% of Cr, is obtained by using the projection operator technique (POT), developed by Argyres and Sigel. The ESRLS function is calculated to be axially symmetric about the c - axis and analyzed by using the spin Hamiltonian $H_{SP}={\mu}_B(B{\cdot}{^\leftrightarrow_{g}}{\cdot}S)+S{\cdot}{^\leftrightarrow_{D}}{\cdot}S$ with the parameters g = 1.972 and D = $0.395\;cm^{-1}$. In the ca plane, the linewidths show a strong angular dependence, whereas in the ab plane, they are independent of the angle. This result implies that the resonance center has an axial symmetry along the c - axis. Further, from the temperature dependence of the linewidths that is shown, it can be seen that the linewidths increase as the temperature increases, at a frequency of v = 9.27GHz. This result implies that the scattering effect increases with increasing temperature. Thus, the POT is considered to be more convenient to explain the scattering mechanism as in the case of other optical resonant systems.
