굴절차량을 위한 전차륜 조향 시스템 전자제어 장치 개발 (Development of the All Wheel Steering ECU for Articulated Vehicle)

  • Since the bi-modal tram is too long so that the traditional steering system controlled only the first axle increases its turning radius, it is not suitable to the domestic road environment. In addition, it become hard to make fine parking with the traditional steering system. To resolve the problem, the bi-modal tram requires an all wheel steering system (AWS) that the second axle is controlled by the first axle's degree and the velocity of vehicle, and the third axle is steered by the articulation angle's degree and the velocity of degree. This paper addresses the factors for the AWS ECU design, the strategies to solve the problems, the core technologies for the implementation, and also the outcomes and analysis of the performance evaluation of implemented system.

Effect of Internal Fluid Resonance on the Performance of a Floating OWC Device

  • In the present study, the performance of a floating oscillating water column (OWC) device has been studied in regular waves. The OWC model has the shape of a hollow cylinder. The linear potential theory is assumed, and a matched eigenfunction expansion method(MEEM) is applied for solving the diffraction and radiation problems. The radiation problem involves the radiation of waves by the heaving motion of a floating OWC device and the oscillating pressure in the air chamber. The characteristics of the exciting forces, hydrodynamic forces, flow rate, air pressure in the chamber, and heave motion response are investigated with various system parameters, such as the inner radius, draft of an OWC, and turbine constant. The efficiency of a floating OWC device is estimated in connection with the extracted wave power and capture width. Specifically, the piston-mode resonance in an internal fluid region plays an important role in the performance of a floating OWC device, along with the heave motion resonance. The developed prediction tool will help determine the various design parameters affecting the performance of a floating OWC device in waves.

ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS WITH CONIC DOMAINS ASSOCIATED WITH CERTAIN GENERALIZED q-INTEGRAL OPERATOR

  • In this paper, we define a new subclass of k-uniformly starlike functions of order γ (0 ≤ γ < 1) by using certain generalized q-integral operator. We explore geometric interpretation of the functions in this class by connecting it with conic domains. We also investigate q-sufficient coefficient condition, q-Fekete-Szegö inequalities, q-Bieberbach-De Branges type coefficient estimates and radius problem for functions in this class. We conclude this paper by introducing an analogous subclass of k-uniformly convex functions of order γ by using the generalized q-integral operator. We omit the results for this new class because they can be directly translated from the corresponding results of our main class.

쾌속 열용삭 공정에서 열반경 최소화를 위한 열 공구 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study of Design for Hot Tool to Minimize Radius of Heat Affected Zone in Rapid Heat Ablation process)

  • In order to realize a three-dimensional shape on CAD, the machining process has been widely used because it offers practical advantages such as precision and versatility. However, the traditional machining process needs a large amount of time in cutting a product and the remained material causes trouble such as inconvenience for clarity. Therefore, a new rapid manufacturing process using the hot tool, Rapid Heat Ablation process (RHA), has been developed. In this paper, the hot tool for RHA process is devised to minimize radius of heat affected zone and also investigated for verification. TRIZ well-known as creative problem solving method is applied to overcome the contradictive requirements of the hot tool. For the detailed design of the hot tool, numerical model is established with several assumptions. Based on the numerical results, surface temperature is measured with K-type thermocouple at the predetermined location. Numerical and experimental results show that the devised hot tool fulfils its requirements. It verifies the practicality of hot tool that the hemisphere shape is ablated using the hot tool with stair structure.

해안 지하수 최적관리를 위한 개발가능량 산정 기법 (Assessment of Potential Groundwater Resources for Optimal Management of Coastal Groundwater)

  • 해안 지역 지하수 최적 관리의 기본계획 수립 단계에 사용될 수 있는 간편한 개발가능량 산정식이 제안되었다. 산정식은 대수층 특성, 해수침투허용 거리, 지하수 해안유출량 그리고 양수정의 위치 등 주요 영향 변수들의 함수이므로 합리적이며, 보편적으로 사용되는 해석 해들과 Ghyben-Herzberg 법칙을 이용하여 유도되었다. 산정식은 관련 변수들의 양 함수로 표현될 수 있으므로 그 적용이 매우 간편하다. 또한 주로 주관적 경험에 의하여 그 값이 결정되어 온 양수정의 영향반경을 대수층의 수리특성과 양수량 등의 함수로 산정할 수 있는 식이 제안되었다. 가상 유역에 대한 적용과 수치 해와의 비교분석을 통하여 제안된 식들이 보수적인 결과를 산출한다는 것을 보였다. 제안된 식들을 기존 관정들이 존재하는 유역에 적용하면 추가 개발가능량을 평가할 수 있다.

6MV Photon Beam Commissioning in Varian 2300C/D with BEAM/EGS4 Monte Carlo Code

  • The Monte Carlo simulation method is a numerical solution to a problem that models objects interacting with other objects or their environment based upon simple object-object or object-environment relationships. In spite of its great accuracy, It was turned away because of long calculation time to simulate a model. But, it is used to simulate a linear accelerator frequently with the advance of computer technology. To simulate linear accelerator in Monte Carlo simulations, there are many parameters needed to input to Monte Carlo code. These data can be supported by a linear accelerator manufacturer. Although the model of a linear accelerator is the same, a different characteristic property can be found. Thus, we performed a commissioning process of 6MV photon beam in Varian 2300C/D model with BEAM/EGS4 Monte Carlo code. The head geometry data were put into BEAM/EGS4 data. The mean energy and energy spread of the electron beam incident on the target were varied to match Monte Carlo simulations to measurements. TLDs (thermoluminescent dosimeter) and radiochromic films were employed to measure the absorbed dose in a water phantom. Beam profile was obtained in 40cm${\times}$40cm field size and Depth dose was in 10cm${\times}$10cm. At first, we compared the depth dose between measurements and Monte Carlo simulations varying the mean energy of an incident electron beam. Then, we compared the beam profile with adjusting the beam radius of the incident electron beam in Monte Carlo simulation. The results were found that the optimal mean energy was 6MV and beam radius of 0.1mm was well matched to measurements.

Design and experiment with a plastic mulch wrapper using a hydraulic system

  • Mulching plastic is used for the purpose of maintaining soil temperature, moisture, and weed and pest prevention in agriculture. Any remaining plastic after use may contaminate the soil and damage crop growth. To solve this problem, mulching plastic wrappers have been studied and developed, but the actual use rate is quite low due to their poor performance and frequent tearing of the plastic on the field. In this study, we developed a tractor attachable mulching plastic wrapper to minimize the tearing of the mulched plastic. The developed mulching plastic wrapper consists of hydraulic motors and pumps, valves, a microcontroller, and sensors. The collecting speed of the plastic mulch was calculated considering the tractor's travel speed and the radius of the collecting drum. A proportional controller was designed to control the rotating speed of the hydraulic motor as the plastic was wound around the collection drum and the radius increased. The performance of an indoor experiment was quite promising because the difference between the collecting speed predicted by the calculation and the actual collecting speed was 2.71 rpm. Based on a field verification test, the speed difference was max. 14.28 rpm; thus, the, proportional integral derivative (PID) controller needs to be considered to control the drum speed precisely. Another issue was found when the soil covered at the edge of the plastic was hardened or the road surface was uneven, the speed control was unstable, and the plastic was torn. In future research, vibrational plows will be equipped to break-up the harden soil for collecting the plastic smoothly.

도로이동오염원의 활동도와 도로변 질소산화물 농도의 관계 (Relation with Activity of Road Mobile Source and Roadside Nitrogen Oxide Concentration)

  • Ozone has been a problem in big cities. That is secondary air pollutant produced by nitrogen oxide and VOCs in the atmosphere. In order to solve this, the first to be the analysis of the $NO_x$ and VOCs. The main source of nitrogen oxide is the road mobile. Industrial sources in Seoul are particularly low, and mobile traffics on roads are large, so 45% of total $NO_x$ are estimated that road mobile emissions in Seoul. Thus, it is necessary to clarify the relation with the activity of road mobile source and $NO_x$ concentration. In this study, we analyzed the 4 locations with roadside automatic monitoring systems in their center. The V.K.T. calculating areas are set in circles with 50 meter spacing, 50 meter to 500 meter from their center. We assumed the total V.K.T. in the set radius affect the $NO_x$ concentration in the center. We used the hourly $NO_x$ concentrations data for the 4 observation points in July for the interference of the other sources are minimized. We used the intersection traffic survey data of all direction for construction of the V.K.T. data, the mobile activities on the roads. ArcGIS application was used for calculating the length of roads in the set radius. The V.K.T. data are multiplied by segment traffic volume and length of roads. As a result, the $NO_x$ concentration can be expressed as linear function formula for V.K.T. with high predictive power. Moreover we separated background concentration and concentrations due to road mobile source. These results can be used for forecasting the effect of traffic demand management plan.

커피 프린터를 위한 커피 잔 정밀 측위 시스템 (High Accurate Cup Positioning System for a Coffee Printer)

  • 정밀 푸드 프린팅 분야에서 출력 대상물의 정밀한 측위기술은 대단히 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 영상처리를 통하여 라떼 아트 프린터의 커피 잔을 정밀하게 측위하는 방법을 제안한다. 프린터 상단 측면에 설치된 카메라 센서로부터 얻은 이미지를 투영변환을 통하여 Top-View 이미지로 변환하고 이미지의 에지를 검출 후 Circular Hough 변환을 통하여 컵의 중심점 및 반지름을 검출하였다. 성능 평가 결과 0.1 ~ 0.125초의 영상 처리 속도, 92.26% 의 컵 검출률을 보여 라떼 아트 출력 소요 시간에 영향을 거의 주지 않으면서 거의 완벽하게 컵을 검출하는 것을 확인하였으며, 검출된 컵의 중심점 좌표 및 반지름 값들이 평균적으로 1.5mm 이내의 매우 적은 오차를 보여 본 논문이 해결하고자 했던 인쇄 위치 오차 문제를 해결한 것으로 평가된다.

광도파로의 곡률 반경에 따른 모드특성과 Lateral Offset 변화 (Improved method of lateral offset calculation for optical waveguide)

  • 곡선형 광도파로의 곡률반경이 작아짐에 따라 도파모드와 전파상수의 변화가 심화되므로 이종도파로 접합부에서의 모드 부정합이 손실을 유발하는 문제가 심각해졌다. 따라서, 곡률반경 변화에 따른 도파로의 모드 부정합을 극소화하기 위하여 이종 도파로간 lateral offset 이 제안되어 이의 계산이 여러 가지 방법으로 수행되어 왔는데, 본 논문에서는 유효 굴절률법(Effective index method)을 활용하고, Airy 함수로 주어지는 해석적 함수해의 분석을 통하여 곡률반경에 따른 전파모드의 특성변화와 lateral offset 거리의 변화를 분석하였다. 1/V=0.7인 특정조건을 경계로 모드분포의 특성이 바뀌며, 기존의 Gaussian 분석법에 의한 계산결과는 35%까지도 오차가 증대될 수 있음을 보였다. 새로이 오차보정상수(correction factor)η를 정의하여 기존 근사방식의 오차를 정량화하고, 간편히 도파로의 lateral offset을 설계 할 수 있도록 개선된 lateral offset 계산안을 제안하여 타당성을 보였다.
