  • As wireless networks evolve to orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDMA) systems, inter-cell interference control becomes a critical issue in radio resource management. The allocation of the same channels in neighbor cells cause inter-cell interference, so the channel allocation needs to be taken carefully to lower the inter-cell interference. In distributed channel allocation, each cell independently tries to allocate channels that suffer low interference level. In this paper, under the assumption of static users, we introduce the concept of interference range and use it in designing our two algorithms; basic and combined. The basic algorithm performs interference range detection and determines whether to use the considered channel, while the combined algorithm checks the channel quality in addition to detecting the interference range. The two algorithms dynamically perform channel allocation with low complexity and show good throughput and fairness performance.

  • By identifying the unique information of the objects using the RF, the RFID technique which will be able to manage the object is spot-lighted as the main technology in Ubiquitous era. On RFID systems, since the information of RFID may easily be unveiled in air, the secure and privacy problems always exist. In this paper, we propose mutual authentication protocol based on symmetric key. Proposed protocol has been able to minimize the tag's H/W resource by using symmetric key. And we use tag ID which is encrypted with hash function and a shared symmetric key by Challenge-Response pair of PUF(Physically Unclonable Function), thus there is no key disclosure problem in our protocol.

  • Device discovery for D2D (device-to-device) communication enables a device to discover other devices in order to initiate communication with them. Devices should perform the discovery phase using a small quantity of radio resource in a short time and be able to reduce the load of the base station. Legacy device discovery schemes have focused on discovering as many target devices as possible. However, it is not appropriate for peer-to-peer D2D communication scenario. Further, synchronization problems are an important issue for discovery signal transmission. This paper proposes a discovery method that one requesting device discovers a specific target for communication. Multiple antenna beamforming is employed for the synchronization between the base station and a target device. The proposal can reduce the load of the base station using the information that it already maintains and improve the reliability of the device discovery because two times of synchronizations using beamforming among the base station and devices can make the exact discovery of a target device with mobility possible.

  • Recently, broadcasting environment is dramatically changed due to adopt digital method in broadcasting technology. numerous country is adopting technology for converting analog to digital. However, in the case of South Korean, standard is still indefinite. In this paper, when it broadcast using DAB system, in oder to avoid interference caused by the frequency resource shortage, DAB system is substituted narrow bandwidth DRM+ system. Therefore it considers the way that solve interference. Interference analysis simulation result shows to solve high interference area in DAB environment

  • In this paper, we investigate a frequency assignment problem from graph theory for military communications. We propose an algorithm based on the graph coloring theory and confirm that we utilize 0.77 times lower number of frequencies. We also propose a hybrid algorithm that facilitates a trade-off between the range and the spectrum utilization gain.

  • As construction projects become getting bigger and complicated, the importance of resource management in construction sites is to be emphasized all the more than ever, but the reality is now gone far away leaving data filing and management dependent on the hands of in-field managers, which gives rise to a variety of problems such as decreased productivity. The manually-dependent data management makes it hard to acquire data and information needed for projects both quickly and correctly with abundant cost and endeavor by accumulating the related data, and efficient project management, being exemplified by such practical applications as Bar-code, RFID(Radio Frequency Identification), GPS(Global Positioning System), PDA(Personal Digital Assistants), USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) and DAT(Data Acquisition Technology). In this context literature survey is made theoretically, taken into account 14 classification of construction works, 31 types of work classification in CIS, Masterformat as follows;

  • In the recent years, femtocell technology has received a considerable attention due to the ability to provide an efficient indoor wireless coverage as well as enhanced capacity. However, under the spectrum sharing between femtocell user equipment (FUEs) and the owner of spectrum macrocell user equipment (MUEs), both may experience higher uplink interference to each other. This paper proposes a novel distributed power control algorithm for the interference management in two-tier femtocell networks. Due to the assignment of licensed radio frequency to the outdoor macrocell users, the access priority of MUEs should be higher than FUEs. In addition, the quality of service (QoS) of MUEs that is expressed in the target signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) must always be achieved. On the other hand, we consider an efficient QoS provisioning cost function for the low-tier FUEs. The proposed algorithm requires only local information and converges even in cases where the frontiers of available power serve the target SINRs impossible. The advantage of the algorithm is the ability to implement in a distributed manner. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm based on our cost function provides effective resource allocation and substantial power saving as compared to the traditional algorithms.

  • This paper analyzed the background and status of studies for WRC-15 agenda item which considers additional frequency allocations to the fixed-satellite service in Ku-band and considered national future countermeasures. Satellite frequency can be acquired through compliance with the Radio Regulations for international registration and it has been recognized as the limited natural resource, and which leads to intensifying the competition among countries for the preoccupancy of it. Under the circumstances, WRC-15 is going to consider additional allocations to the fixed-satellite service in Ku-band and it is necessary to cope with the situation taking into account adequate protection of the existing services and future plan of frequency usage by the fixed-satellite service.

  • IEEE 802.15.4 is a global standard designed for emerging applications in low-rate wireless personal area networks (LR-WPANs). The standard provides beneficial features, such as a beacon-enabled mode and guaranteed time slots for realtime data delivery. However, how to optimally operate those features is still an open issue. For the optimal operation of the features, this paper proposes a holistic optimization method that jointly optimizes three cross-related problems: cluster-tree construction, nodes' power configuration, and duty-cycle scheduling. Our holistic optimization method provides a solution for those problems so that all the real-time packets can be delivered within their deadlines in the most energy-efficient way. Our simulation study shows that compared to existing methods, our holistic optimization can guarantee the on-time delivery of all real-time packets while significantly saving energy, consequently, significantly increasing the lifetime of the network. Furthermore, we show that our holistic optimization can be extended to take advantage of the spatial reuse of a radio frequency resource among long distance nodes and, hence, significantly increase the entire network capacity.

  • In cellular femto systems, femto Base stations(f-BSs) can be installed unnecessarily and overcrowded in small areas. This will cause an interference problem and it can impact on the capacity, blocking probability, and coverage of femtocells in the shared channel systems. In this paper, we propose a load distribution scheme by using forced handover and probabilistic subchannel scheduling policy to resolve the problem. The proposed scheme operates in distributed manner though communication with neighboring f-BSs, and includes self-detection of overcrowded area and radio resource management based on measurements. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme in terms of average cell throughput and average throughput per users.
