  • The high heat emitted from the process module and heat jacket may cause errors in semiconductor process equipment. Barriers were designed to reduce the temperature of surface on transfer module. A designed barrier was compared and analyzed by numerical analysis using ANSYS Fluent. The average temperature of barrier and effect of radiation heat transfer were also compared through absorbed radiative heat flux of the barrier. The adoption of the barrier had an effect on the radiative heat transfer reduction of the transfer module rod. The effect of the angles of barrier from 50° to 90° on the heat transfer was investigated using the absorbed radiative heat flux with the average temperature. The angle of barrier of 50° reduced the temperature up to 9.6 %.

  • The real-time holographic interferometer with digital high-speed camera is applied to the experimental study of laser induced plasma/plume in pulsed Nd:YAG laser welding. A pulsed Nd:YAG laser with 1.2 kW average power is applied to generate laser induced plume. The recording speed of the high-speed camera is 3,000 f/s. The high speed photographs of weld plume without another visualization method, are compared with the visualization photographs with holographic interferometer. The radiation intensity from the laser induced plume is recorded by the high speed photographs, which fluctuated during laser radiation and disappeared after laser end. The density distribution of the plume is recorded by the holographic visualization method. The experimental results show the process of generation of the laser induced plasma/plume, and give the feasibility of quantitative measurement of laser induced plume in laser welding.

  • The main principle of radiation therapy is to deliver optimum dose to tumor to increase tumor cure probability while minimizing dose to critical normal structure to reduce complications. RTP system is required for proper dose plan in radiation therapy treatment. The main goal of this research is to develop dose model for photon, electron, and brachytherapy, and to display dose distribution on patient images with optimum process. The main items developed in this research includes: (l) user requirements and quality control; analysis of user requirement in RTP, networking between RTP and relevant equipment, quality control using phantom for clinical application (2) dose model in RTP; photon, electron, brachytherapy, modifying dose model (3) image processing and 3D visualization; 2D image processing, auto contouring, image reconstruction, 3D visualization (4) object modeling and graphic user interface; development of total software structure, step-by-step planning procedure, window design and user-interface. Our final product show strong capability for routine and advance RTP planning.

  • The temperature of the wafer batch in the furnace was calculated and its visualized temperature field was analyzed. The main heat transfer mechanisms from the heater wall to the wafers were radiation and conduction, and the finite difference method was used to analyze the complex heat transfer including those two mechanisms. The visualized temperature field shows that the direction of the heat flux in the wafer batch varies during the heating process, and the heat in the wafer batch diffuses faster by conduction within the wafer than by radiation between the wafers, in the condition of the constant temperature at the heater wall and cap.

  • The use of GEANT4 simulation toolkit has increased in the radiation medical field for the design of treatment system and the calibration or validation of treatment plans. Moreover, it is used especially on calculating dose simulation using medical data for radiation therapy. However, using internal visualization tool of GEANT4 detector constructions on expressing dose result has deficiencies because it cannot display isodose line. No one has attempted to use this code to a real patient's data. Therefore, to complement this problem, using the result of gMocren that is a three-dimensional volume-visualizing tool, we tried to display a simulated dose distribution and isodose line on medical image. In addition, we have compared cross-validation on the result of gMocren and GEANT4 simulation with commercial radiation treatment planning system. We have extracted the analyzed data of dose distribution, using real patient's medical image data with a program based on Monte Carlo simulation and visualization tool for radiation isodose mapping.

  • An active ${\mu}$-mixer is important in Bio-MEMS and ${\mu}$-TAS. The mixing state depends on some kinds of factors including the intensity of ultrasonic radiation. We have visualized the mixing state of the mixing chamber with radiation time and presented the influence of the driving voltage in this research. It will be possible to compare the performances of the ultrasonic radiation parts used in the active ${\mu}$-mixer using this method.

  • Modern people spend much time at indoor space. So, People want to make better indoor air condition. But the facade of building is made of glass to be seen urbanely, the effect of solar radiation makes indoor environment worse. This study designs an open space affected by solar radiation with 4-way cassette air-conditioner. Using numerical simulation, this paper investigates thermal comfort and ventilation performance with discharge angles $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$. To study thermal comfort, this paper studies distribution of velocity, temperature and effective draft temperature. Also, this paper introduces concept of air age to study ventilation performance. The flow influenced by solar radiation determines thermal comfort and ventilation performance in room space. This study shows that discharge angle of 45 degree has better thermal comfort and ventilation performance than that of 30 degree.

  • Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) is a process of incorporating imaging techniques such as computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), Positron emission tomography (PET), and ultrasound (US) during radiation therapy (RT) to improve treatment accuracy. It allows real-time or near real-time visualization of anatomical information to ensure that the target is in its position as planned. In addition, changes in tumor volume and location due to organ motion during treatment can be also compensated. IGRT has been gaining popularity and acceptance rapidly in RT over the past 10 years, and many published data have been reported on prostate, bladder, head and neck, and gastrointestinal cancers. However, the role of IGRT in lymphoma management is not well defined as there are only very limited published data currently available. The scope of this paper is to review the current use of IGRT in the management of lymphoma. The technical and clinical aspects of IGRT, lymphoma imaging studies, the current role of IGRT in lymphoma management and future directions will be discussed.

  • The wafer temperature and its uniformity inside the LPCVD chamber were analyzed. The temperature uniformity at the end of the wafer load depends on the heat-insulating cap. The finite difference method was used to investigate the radiation and conduction heat transfer mechanisms, and the temperature field and heat diffusion in the LPCVD chamber was visualized. It was found that the temperature uniformity of the wafers could be controlled by the size and distance of the heat-insulating cap.
