  • The expected busy period for the controllable M/G/1 queueing model operating under the triadic policy is derived by using the pseudo probability density function which is totally different from the actual probability density function. In order to justify the approach using the pseudo probability density function to derive the expected busy period for the triadic policy, well-known expected busy periods for the dyadic policies are derived from the obtained result as special cases.

  • Recently there has been an increasing interest in queueing models with disasters. Upon arrival of a disaster, all the customers present are noshed out. Queueing models with disasters have been applied to the problems of failure recovery in many computer networks systems, database systems and telecommunication networks in this paper, we suffest the steady state and sojourn time distributions of the M/G/l model with disaster and mass alway when the system is empty.

  • ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) has a fixed-length packet transport scheme. It is one of the promising proposals in B-ISDN.Since the packet length is fixed, it can be potentially to perform the various service to users. In this paper, a queueing model for an ATM multip`exer loaded by CBR and ON/OFF input sources is considered, and the two-queue system which each type of input sources has a queue with a finite capacity is analyzed. The cell loss probabilities for a performance measures of ATM multiplexer are derived, and are also evaluated through numerical examples. As a result, the cell loss probability of ON/OFF sources for the queue size is rapidly decreased when the multiplexed number and burstiness are increased. Since cells of the CBR source have lower priority than cells of the ON/OFF source, cell loss probabilities of CBR sources are accordingly high independently of CBR cell arrival rate when the number of CBR sources is large.

  • Using the known result of the expected busy period for the triadic Min (N, T, D) operating policy applied to a controllable M/G/1 queueing model, its upper and lower bounds are derived to approximate its corresponding actual value. Both bounds are represented in terms of the expected busy periods for the dyadic Min (N, T), Min (N, D) and Min (T, D) and simple N, T and D operating policies. All three input variables N, T and D are equally contributed to construct such bounds for better approximations.

  • The expected busy period for the controllable M/G/1 queueing model operating under the triadic Max (N, T, D) policy is derived by using a new concept so called "the pseudo probability density function." In order to justify the proposed approaches for the triadic policy, well-known expected busy periods for the dyadic policies are recovered from the obtained result as special cases.

  • The most generalized form of the triadic operating policy for a controllable M/G/I queueing model is analyzed to obtain fundamental relations among the other forms of operating policies based on its corresponding expected busy period. Since it consists of three decision variables N, T and D, it could be possible to decompose into the simple, the dyadic and other forms of the triadic operating policies. The procedures to decompose the most generalized triadic policy into other forms of operating policies could provide a general methodology to identify each element associated with it.

  • We ivestigate a two-stage queueing system which frequently arises in the study of overflow problems. A primary service facility consists of multiple primary queues where blocked calls are overflowed to a secondary queue. By approximating the input to the secondary queue with a two-state Markov Modulated Poisson Process (MMPP), we derive the blocking probability of the secondary queue. For the approximation, we employ the well-known Heffes' method and the SAM procedure.

  • Generally, queueing networks, networks, chains and simulation techniques are among the most widely used evaluation tools to study computer systems, manufacturing systems etc. But, these tools have some assumptions and difficulties. So, this thesis presents a method for manufacturing system using Petri nets. Petri nets are a graphical and mathmatical modeling tool and are promising tool for describing and studying systems that are characterized as being concurrent asychronous, dynamic, distributed and parrallel. It designs Petri net model for processing time of manufacturing system And it applied to a job shop system composed of 8 machines and 4 different job types.
