To find out the major factors affecting the pedestrian satisfaction, the quantitative evaluation on the walking environment were carried out using questionnaire with the 5-point Likert scale in the selected 6 community roads in Seoul. Data were analyzed using descriptive, correlation, and regression analysis. One of main findings reported that pedestrians are not satisfied yet with pedestrian environment(Mean=2.88, S.D.=1.12). The correlation analysis reported 'Safe to walk' (R=.640,p=.001), 'Feel like walking' (r=.603, p=.001), 'Enjoyable to walk'(R=.601,p=.001), and 'Adequate for walking & dialogue'(R=.586,p=.001), are top four factors that positively correlate with overall pedestrian satisfaction. Results indicate that safety should be considered in priorities but amenity development be thought to be important in pedestrian improvement projects. And a broad public participation in decision-making is needed for the effectiveness of the project.
The purpose of this study was to identify current trends in music therapy literature in Korea in order to provide the groundwork for future research. Therefore, 122 articles from the Korean Journal of Music Therapy (KJMT) from 1999 to 2012 and 76 articles from the Journal of Music and Human Behavior (JMHB, formerly known as Korean Journal of Music Therapy Education) from 2004 to 2012 were analyzed. Analysis was performed by identifying the frequency and percentage of the following items: type, population, topic, and methodology of published articles. In addition, the results obtained were compared and contrasted between these two publications. Overall, it was found that there was a high prevalence of descriptive studies (KJMT, 46%,; JMHB, 45%), applied research (KJMT, 51%; JMHB 66%), and quantitative studies (KJMT, 82%; JMHB 37%). In addition, ordinary people with no particular diagnosis were the most often studied population (34%). Differences were found in that a historical study was only found in KJMT whereas a philosophical study was published only in JMHB. Further analysis revealed that JMHB included a higher proportion of applied research than KJMT. In KJMT, quantitative research was appeared twice as often as qualitative and mixed-method research combined. On the other hand, a similar number of each of the three methodological types of studies appeared in JMHB. In conclusion, this study indicates that more effort should be made to increase the quantity and improve the quality of professional publications in the field of music therapy in Korea.

This study aims to analyze the content and methodological aspects of converging scientific technology and humanities in 233 elementary school STEAM programs developed and publicized from 2012 to 2015, to provide the basic materials and implications for editing and supplementing the development of future STEAM programs or policies, or on-site applications of developed programs. The analysis results show that among the Liberal Arts courses of the STEAM program, including Korean, Social Studies, and Ethics, the level of convergence was lowest in Ethics. This seems to be due to the fact that convergence between scientific technology and humanities tended to emphasize a cross-studies convergence over a content convergence done with a specific purpose. In terms of methodological convergence between scientific technology and humanities, the level of convergence of humanities at a normative level was relatively lower than that at a descriptive level. Although a quantitative comparison of the two methods was not significant, it is rather concerning that due to simply converging descriptive humanities, students may not be so aware of the double-sidedness of scientific technology, despite the discovery of some programs that need re-evaluations of their ethical or normative directions. Moreover, the results showed that the cases of converging scientific technology and humanities at a normative level that were analyzed in the STEAM program can be divided into 'complementation of humanities to utilizing scientific technology' and 'complementation of humanities to research in scientific technology and development.' Based on such research results, the study discusses the development of STEAM programs and policies and directions for editing and supplementing programs on-site.
The sensory quality characteristics of 7 different types of Korean traditional tea products were analyzed. For the standardization of sensory testing condition, the optimum drinking temperature were measured with 50 students, and all the samples tested were found to fall in the range of $60-70^{\circ}C$. The optimum concentrations of tea for drinking were generally met with the amount recommended by the producer. A total of 45 sensory describing terms expressing the taste, odor, and mouthfeel were collected. Using the sensory describing terms as the character notes, flavor profile analysis was made for each tea product with 8 members of trained panel. The differences in quality characteristics of 29 test samples were evaluated and shown in the chart constructed by the quantitative descriptive analysis method.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the foodservice management practices and productivity in elementary schools in order to provide basic information for an efficient food service management. This approach was achieved using a variety quantitative and qualitative information including general foodservice management, managerial and operational factors, and the productivity in elementary school foodservice systems. The labor productivity in 28 school foodservice system was assessed and related to a number of influencing variables within the system. The productivity measurement was based upon the total meal equivalents as a ratio of the total direct and non-direct labor hours required to prepare these meals. Twenty-eight elementary schools located in Seoul and Kangnung were surveyed to get data for the variables. Questionnaire and a survey form were mailed. Statistical methods used in this study were descriptive analysis, $\chi$$^2$-test, 1-test and one-way ANOVA analysis. Elementary schools in Seoul were all located in urban areas, whereas elementary schools in Kangnung were in urban areas (40.0%), provincial areas (40.0%) and in isolated areas (20.0%). Total average number of meals including children and staff was 928.2${\pm}$ 650.0 with a yery significant difference (p<0.001) between Seoul and Kangnung. The average cost of school meal in Seoul and Kangnung were 1191.0 won and 1526.2 won, respectively. The result of Pearson Correlation analysis indicated that labor cost per meal, 1-week meal equivalents and meal equivalents per labor were significantly correlated with the productivity.

And it is to find discriminative result as compared with foreign consumer. Research design, data, and methodology - Subjects for the quantitative study, quota sampling was adopted in the Lotte, Shilla downtown and airport duty free stores from the first to 15th December 2016 and 177 questionnaires from Koreans who had purchasing experience in off line duty free store were analyzed. The data was analyzed by using factor and reliability analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, the independent sample t-test and multiple regression analysis. To test consistency, Cronbach's alpha was used. Results - The result were as follows; 1. Korean consumers consider the importance of store attributes in duty free stores in order Product, Economic Feasibility, Convenience, Promotion, and Accessibility. 2. The meaningful impactive factors of duty free store attributes on consumer satisfaction turned out Product and Promotion. 3. These results show meaningful distinction between Koreans and foreigners in terms of consumer satisfaction in duty free stores. Conclusions - A marketer who is working for duty free store consider now that price benefit can not give strong impact to Korean consumers more and should concentrate on various brand assortment even including private brand. In terms of promotion, most duty free shops put special stress on foreign consumer's wants now as highly increasing of Chinese travelers but Korean consumer's sales portion and number of visitor also are steadily increasing. Therefore, a duty free marketer should prepare the Korean-oriented services with more enhanced promotion strategies for individual and group travellers, for example, a mileage service, VIP room and social network system to satisfy Korean consumers. In order to get satisfaction from Korean consumers, it makes effort on product and promotion than accessibility, price and convenience. Due to high level influence, further study is needed to enlarge to on-line market and to develop private brands for duty free stores.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the research trend of transformational leadership published in domestic journals in the last 10 years and to find some implications for future research. For this purpose, 337 research papers on transformational leadership from 2007 to 2016 were reviewed. This study used descriptive statistics by frequency and percentage and a network text analysis method. The findings of the study are as follows. First, the annual average number of papers published was 33. Second, 'human resource management research' was the most common topic. Third, most of the research subjects were business employees. Fourth, the research method trend analysis showed that the highest proportion was in the quantitative research. Fifth, 'transactional leadership' showed the highest frequency as a result of analyzing the keywords presented in the abstract of the paper. Sixth, as a result of analyzing the network texts, those having the trend of being analyzed with a close connections were 'transactional leadership', which had the highest connection to transformational leadership, showing the closest relationship with 'role satisfaction'.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the direction for development of the Korean Journal of Adult Nursing toward becoming an international journal through analysing the accepted and rejected papers during the last three years (2007-2009). Methods: Two hundred and ten accepted papers were analyzed focusing on research methodology and key words using descriptive statistics. In addition, rejected papers were reviewed to analyze their study designs and key words. Results: The proportion of quantitative research was 86.4% while the proportion of qualitative research was 9.5%. The majority of the qualitative research design was survey (71.8%). Sixty percent of the research had verbal consent and 32.7% had written consent from the participants. The prevailing data collection settings were hospitals (52.1%), and community (22.7%). The most frequently used research domain was health. It was noted that theoretical framework was rarely presented. The paper rejection rate was 31.5% and among the rejected paper, 75.3% was survey. Conclusion: The results of this analysis suggest that published studies have been improved and diversified compared with the papers published before the year 2007. However, translation research, clinical trials by nurses, and more detailed evaluation process for ethics in research need to be facilitated.
The purpose of this study is to compare the purchase intention on naturally dyed clothing between Korea and the US. As independent variables that affect the purchase intention, benefits that consumers seek when purchasing naturally dyed clothing, especially for fabric materials, and attitudes towards naturally dyed clothing were selected. A quantitative research method with a survey was employed. 160 data from Korea and 180 data from the US were used for the analysis. The convenience sampling method (i.e., college female students) was used. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test and regression analysis were employed to test the differences in purchase intention, fabric benefit sought, and the attitudes. The fabric benefit sought selected for this study includes eco-friendliness, uniqueness, aesthetic, comfort and quality. The attitude toward naturally dyed clothing was categorized as an emotional and a cognitive attitude. The results show the significant differences in the fabric benefit sought depending on nationality, major and experiences in natural dyeing. Significant differences were found in of the attitude toward naturally dyed clothing among the nationalities and the experience types in natural dyeing. In addition, there were significant differences in purchase intention toward naturally dyed clothing between Korean and the US participants, and countries show different fabric benefits and attitudes which influenced participants' purchase intention. The results of this study suggest an appropriate fabric planning for environment-friendly fashion products for both countries.
The objective of this study is to examine the studies of foreign workers in Korea at a level of meta-analysis focusing on their subjects and methodology. Over the last 15 years, studies of foreign workers have diversified subjects and refined methodology reflecting major characteristics of migration patterns including a rapid increase in number, large populations of illegal sojourners, a majority low-skilled young male workers from less developed countries, and an active role of migrant-support NGOs. Nevertheless, the studies have shown problems such as a higher ratio of macroscopic discussions, overemphasis on social problematic issues and a tendency towards descriptive analysis. Methodologically, they have also revealed an inactive use of empirical and quantitative data, lack of representativeness of sample and disregard of an importance of language in the study of foreigners. Based on the analysis, this study proposes strategies to enhance researches of foreign workers in Korea.
