  • It is very important to produce military goods for customers, and a customer satisfaction index should be developed for quality control of military goods. Seoul National University and Defense Quality Assurance Agency jointly developed MCSI (Military Customer Satisfaction Index). In this paper the model of MCSI is explained, and the sampling design and survey method is introduced. Also a preliminary test was undertaken, and its result is briefly explained.

  • Machine Learning(ML) splits data into 3 parts, which are usually 60% for training, 20% for validation, and 20% for testing. It just splits quantitatively instead of selecting each set of data by a criterion, which is very important concept for the adequacy of test data. ML measures a model's accuracy by applying a set of validation data, and revises the model until the validation accuracy reaches on a certain level. After the validation process, the complete model is tested with the set of test data, which are not seen by the model yet. If the set of test data covers the model's attributes well, the test accuracy will be close to the validation accuracy of the model. To make sure that ML's set of test data works adequately, we design an experiment and see if the test accuracy of model is always close to its validation adequacy as expected. The experiment builds 100 different SVM models for each of six data sets published in UCI ML repository. From the test accuracy and its validation accuracy of 600 cases, we find some unexpected cases, where the test accuracy is very different from its validation accuracy. Consequently, it is not always true that ML's set of test data is adequate to assure a model's quality.

  • This paper presents case studies on database Quality uSing an extended database Quality model developed by Korea Database Promotion Center, which shall be called KDPC2003. The model is applied to evaluate two kinds of databases ; one is an operational database, the other is an information service database. The purpose of this research is two-folded. One is to evaluate database quality and assess current status of database quality management; the other is to assess usefulness of KDPC2003 and to propose ideas for its augmentation. The findings in this study will provide basic facts to test database quality evaluation models.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of health promotion program, which was based on the Health Belief Model, on the health belief, health promoting behavior and quality of life for middle-aged women. Methods: The study focused nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected among 40 middle-aged women (20 were experimental group and 20 were control group) on 1st November 2014 and 25th April 2015. The experimental group received 12 sessions of health promotion program for aging preparation once a week for 12 weeks. Data were analyzed by ${\chi}^2$ and t-test and paired t-test using the PASW 21.0 program. Results: The study results shown that, health belief (t=-2.94, p=.006), health promoting behavior (t=-4.76, p<.001) and higher quality of life (t=-7.65, p<.001) scores of experimental group were higher than the control group. Conclusion: The health promotion program based on the Health Belief Model was effective and increased the health belief and health promoting behavior and quality of life among middle-aged women. It seems health promotion program is necessary to improve middle age women's health and quality of later life.

  • The objective of this study is to test Parasurman, Zeithaml & Berry(1985)'s service quality gap analysis model, and to confirm reliability and to confirm reliability and validity of the model. The reliability of the model is adopted, but the validity must be retested in the further study. In the results of the gap analysis model, the correlation between consumer expectations and management perceptions of consumer expectations(gap1) was not accepted. The correlation between management perceptions of consumer expectations and service quality specifications(gap2), the correlation between service quality specifications and the service actually delivered(gap3), and the correlation between services delivered and services promised to consumers(gap4) were accepted. To improve domestic telecommunication service quality, practical guides such as standardization of job roles, cooperation among customer-contact persons, communication between managers and employees, evaluation programs for employee's improvement of service quality, appropriate supports for customer-contact persons were suggested. For generalizing the gap model, additional studies under the different contexts and industries will be needed.

  • The accurate results of finite element analysis are directly related to reliability FE model which is exactly describing dynamic characteristics of target structure. So, a model updating is necessary to establish reliable FE(Finite Element) model with a lot of experience and effort using modal testing. A large structure is too difficult to obtain the dynamic characteristics owing to its weight and size. In this work, using main gun firing test, modal testing was performed to obtain dynamic characteristics of large naval vessel, which is difficult to tap the general modal testing method. The result of experiment was considered its possibility and future plans.

  • Generally, spiral test has been used for evaluating course-keeping quality of a ship. But, there are many difficult problems in performing spiral test and reversed spiral test. Therefore, we propose zig-zag test instead of spiral test for evaluating curse-keeping quality of a ship. In this paper, K-T maneuvering response model is applied to the spiral curves which are systematically produced to calculate Zig-zag maneuver. Then, 1st overshoot angle and 2nd overshoot angle are plotted. And the relations between overshoot angles and band widths of spiral curve are discussed.

  • This study aims at the development of the model for a forecasting of water quality in river basins using artificial neural network technique. Water quality by Artificial Neural Network Model forecasted and compared with observed values at the Sangju q and Dalsung stations in Nakdong river basin. For it, a multi-layer neural network was constructed to forecast river water quality. The neural network learns continuous-valued input and output data. Input data was selected as BOD, CO discharge and precipitation. As a result, it showed that method III of three methods was suitable more han other methods by statistical test(ME, MSE, Bias and VER). Therefore, it showed that Artificial Neural Network Model was suitable for forecasting river water quality.

  • Purpose: In this study, the reliability growth management procedures for armed vehicle is suggested and an illustrative case study of launcher system is given. Methods: Crow-AMSAA model is adopted to manage reliability growth of armed vehicle using failure data acquired from development test phase to field operation phase. Between the development test phase and the production phase, the suggested reliability growth procedures for armed vehicle entails accelerated life test of the selected module whose design is changed to improve its reliability for assuring the target system reliability. And it can be verified through estimating the system reliability based on the failure data of field operation phase. Results: It is shown that the proposed reliability growth management procedures are effective for armed vehicle based on the case study of launcher system. After estimating the reliability of launcher system at every development test, some items are selected to change their designs for improving reliability. Accelerated life test is performed to prove the reliability improvement and finally it is verified through the field operation. Conclusion: The reliability growth management procedures for armed vehicle is suggested and the case study of launcher system shows it can be effective for managing the reliability growth of the armed vehicle.

  • Purpose: This study was designed to construct a structural model for explaining model health-related quality of life in acquired people with physical disabilities. Method: The hypothetical model of this study was consisted of 6 latent variables and 14 observed variables. Exogenous variables included in this model were physical status and economical level. Endogenous variables were social attitudes, family function, self-esteem, and health-related quality of life. Data were collected from 226 acquired people with physical disabilities residing in Seoul and Kyunggi-do from January to February, 2005. The collected data were analyzed using SAS 8.2 version and LISREL 8.32 version program. Results: The results of the fitness test of the modified model were follow as; ${\chi}^2=67.479$ (df=50, p=.05), GFI=.959, AGFI=.914, SRMR=.049, NFI=.961, NNFI=.979, CN=249.244. Health-related quality of life was influenced directly by physical status, economic level, and social attitudes and accounted for 88.8% of the variance by these factors. Conclusion: These results suggest that physical status is the most significant effect on health-related quality of life, and social attitudes and economic level are important factors having influences on health- related quality of life. Therefore improving physical status and economic level, and modifying negative attitudes are necessary to increase health-related quality of life of acquired people with acquired physical disabilities.
