  • Purpose: For the last few decades, TQM has become a hot topic in the inner-disciplinary field in the production management line. Still, unfortunately, the study of TQM and Quality Output management is partially only attached to the tangible side in the production management line. Whereas theoretically, the implications of TQM require incremental improvement in all management lines (e.g., HRM, Marketing, Operations, and Distribution Management). Therefore, starting from the main problem, this study aims to analyze the effect of total quality management, Organizational Culture, Perceived Distribution of Quality Awareness, and quality output through a more in-depth analysis. Research design, data and methodology: We conducted a survey of 170 respondents from managers, staff, and employees from 48 companies in Indonesia. We used a quantitative approach with the SEM method to answer this study's problem formulation and hypotheses. Results: The results of our research stated that based on the demonstration of statistical test results, all hypotheses were positive and significant, both direct and indirect relationship demonstrations. Conclusions: Universally, the findings in this study illustrate that the supporting factor for creating value-added in TQM and Quality output lies in the optimal and positive organizational culture and Perceived Distribution Quality Awareness factors in the organization.

통합정보시스템의 조직 통제에 미치는 영향 : ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) 시스템 도입을 중심으로 (The Effects of Integrated Information Systems on the Organizational Control : A Focus of ERP Implementation)

  • This study attempts (1) to analyze the changing pattern of organizational control by investigating the impacts of ERP implementations on the determinants of organizational control types and (2) to compare the performance variances based on the fitness between implementation of ERP and the changed mode of organizational control. Research results reveal that firms with ERP shows high degree of information integration, which partially affects the determinants of organizational control types. Also, results indicate that firms now with ERP shows the higher levels of both behavior and output control than without ERP, and the magnitude of change in behavior control level was greater than that of output control level. Finally, this research suggests that while the firms that implemented ERP for the purpose of quality and service improvement need to more focus on behavior control than on output control, the firms for the purpose of cost reduction need to excercise more output control in order to establish a cost effective control strategy.

사회복지서비스 기관의 조직성과에 관한 연구 : 서울시 지역사회복지관의 질 산출(quality output)을 중심으로 (A Study on the Performance of the Human Service Organizations : An Analysis from the Perspective of Quality of Output)

  • This study examines the organizational performance of human service organizations from the quality output perspective. Using the 2001 evaluation data about 89 community welfare centers in Seoul, this study attempts to identify the levels of the performance of human service organizations in Korea. This study also attempts to identify the factors that predict performance of human service organizations measured in terms of client satisfaction and experts' evaluation about the functioning of each center. Results are as follows: (1) when pooling 866 clients' satisfaction level into satisfaction score about each center, the average of client satisfaction about the centers is 3.42 at 4 points scale. (2) 41.6% of the community welfare centers is evaluated as "highly qualified" in its overall operation and functioning by the professional evaluation team, (3) the employee reward system(+), practice based on the program guideline manual(+), the portion of the government support grant in its budget(-), the overall employee salary level(-), the level of acquirement of program grants from external sources (-) are the predictors in explaining clients' satisfaction level, and (4) the level of professional expertise of the executive director(+), the level of professional supervision of middle managers(+), the employee reward system(+), the program need assessment(+), the level of client information system(+), the portion of government support grant(-), the overall employee salary level(-) are the predictors for "being highly qualified" in its overall operation and function of each center. Through the empirical analysis, this study provides valuable knowledge about organizational performance of community welfare centers from the quality output perspective. Finally, this study discusses implications for more effective and efficient organizational performance of community welfare centers in Korea.

  • There have many studies seeking for an effective IS planning approach. These studies mainly considered organizational characteristics, external factors, and IS planning process as key factors influencing ISP outcome. ISP output, however, was less focused, which is believed to have a more direct relationship with ISP outcome. In this study we attempt to study empirically how architectural quality of ISP output impacts on ISP outcome.

  • 호텔 기업은 경영 방법 및 판매 이익을 향상시키기 위해서는 서비스를 개선해야만 달성할 수 있으며, 호텔 및 외식업 시장의 관리 시스템에 대한 부족한 것들과 비교되는 부분들이 많은 실정이다. 그 분석 결과에 대한 내용은 다음과 같습니다. 자유스럽고 열린 호텔 기업 문화는 외부 환경 변화에 유연하고 탄력적으로 대처하며 좋은 기업 문화는 직원, 고객, 원가, 재고 관리에 효율적인 결과를 창출한다. 호텔 레스토랑 성향은 효과적인 서비스 질, 경영 관리에 중점을 두고 호텔 경영 방식은 다른 서비스 질과 품질 및 조직성과 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 추후에 호텔 경영 방식에 따라 경쟁 우위 확보를 강화해야 기업이 살아남는 방법 중의 하나이다. 호텔 기업에 대한 다양한 연구가 계속되고 결과가 호텔 경영진이나 종사자들에게 도움을 줄 것으로 기대한다.

조직 내 정치와 구성원 간 갈등이 의사소통의 질에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 간호조직을 대상으로 (The Effects of Organizational Politics and Conflicts on Quality of Communication among Nurses)

  • 조직 내 정치와 갈등은 어떠한 유형의 조직에서도 발견되는 일상적인 현상이며, 다양한 조직성과 및 산출 변수들에 영향을 주고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 간호조직 내 정치와 갈등에 관한 선행연구는 많지 않은 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구는 그 동안 간호조직 관련 연구에서 배제되어온 조직 내 정치와 갈등이 간호사 사이 의사소통의 질에 어떠한 영향을 주고 있는지 분석하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 A대학병원 간호사 310명이며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS21을 활용하여 기술통계, 피어슨상관분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 조직 내 정치와 부정적 유형의 관계갈등은 수직적, 수평적 의사소통의 질에 부(-)의 영향을 주고 있었으며, 긍정적 유형의 업무갈등은 정(+)의 영향을 주고 있었다. 공식적 의사소통의 질에 대해 조직 내 정치와 관계갈등은 부(-)의 영향을 주고 있었으나, 업무갈등은 유의하지 않았다. 조직 내 정치와 갈등은 비공식적 의사소통의 질에는 유의한 영향을 주고 있지 않았다. 줄세우기나 편가르기와 같은 조직 내 정치적 행위와 조직 구성원 간의 감정적인 갈등 현상에 대한 적극적인 관리가 필요함이 강조되며, 나아가 간호조직 내 정치와 갈등에 대한 본격적인 실증연구가 확대되어야 할 것이다.

  • 본 연구에서는 물류정보시스템을 도입활용하고 있는 무역업체들을 대상으로 내부업무효율성과 조직혁신정도를 조절변수로 하여, 내부업무효율성과 조직혁신정도가 높은 집단과 낮은 집단으로 구분하여, 이들 각 집단의 물류정보시스템 특성변수가 성과(이용자가치와 인식된 유용성)에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 구조화된 업무 환경에서 물류정보시스템을 통한 지속적인 업무수행과 더불어 조직혁신을 위한 기업차원에서의 노력이 병행되어야 하며, 물류정보시스템 도입 무역업체들은 정기적으로 기업의 업무활동전반에 대한 정확한 평가와, 전략수립을 통해 물류정보 시스템의 성과 제고를 위한 노력을 기울여야 할 것이며, 본 연구에서 나타난 바와 같이 물류정보시스템 도입 무역업체들의 낮은 조직혁신정도를 향상시킬 수 있는 조직자체의 각성과 노력이 뒤따라야 할 것이다.

Perception Based Definition of Construction Quality in Pakistan

  • The complexity arises in defining the construction quality due to its perception, based on inherent market conditions and their requirements, the diversified stakeholders itself and their desired output. A quantitative survey based approach was adopted in this constructive study. A questionnaire based survey was conducted, for the assessment of construction quality perception and expectations in the context of quality improvement technique. The survey feedback of professionals, from the leading construction organizations/companies of Pakistan were analyzed. The financial capacity, organizational structure, and construction experience of the construction firms formed basis for their selection. After statistical analysis of survey feedback it was found reliable and valid for the inferential purpose to the target population of construction professionals. The quality perception was found to be project scope oriented, considered as an excess cost for a construction project and keeping the rework minimum by qualifying the required quality tests, keeping the defects minimum by ensuring the specifications of supplied material. Any quality improvement technique was expected to address the financial aspects of the construction project for the employer and contractor, by increasing the profitability through reduction in overall cost, reduction in time, reduction in defects and improving the productivity in a construction project. The study is beneficial for the construction professionals to assess the prevailing construction quality perception and the expectations from implementation of any quality improvement technique in construction projects.

한국과 미국기업의 경영혁신 작업성과에 관한 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study of Business Innovation Project : Korean Companies vs. US Companies)

  • The purpose of this research is empirically investigating organizational/managerial factors affecting BPR implementation between Korean and US companies. And we compared the critical success factors and business innovation performance of Korean companies to those of US companies based on the prior research. Seven variables that represent success of BPR implementation are identified. They are : (1) reduction of process time (2) reduction of process cost (3) upgraded skill or knowledge (4) improved quality of process output (5) improved quality of work life (6) responsiveness to customer need (7) overall perception of BPR success. The result showed that the performance of US companies is better than that of Korean companies. Especially level of overall perception of BPR success of US companies is more high than that of Korean companies. The reason is that business innovation of Korean companies is focused on functional unit and incremental improvement.

  • In this paper, an improved AE system for digital still camera is proposed. AE system is auto exposure system to maintain optimized brightness of output image. But there is limitation for mobile devices to get high quality image with the conventional AE algorithm, because of organizational restriction of system. The conventional research has been studied only electronic shutter and AGC on the AE algorithm. In this paper, we suggest new AE algorithm included target setting, frame delay, Gamma Correction as well as electronic shutter and AGC to get high quality image. The proposed algorithm show improved result at control speed and ability of luminance expression.
