A high precision transformer bridge system for comparison of primary capacitance standards at low frequencies was developed. Its main transformer was constructed by special winding techniques and has the inphase and quadrature error of $0.073{\times}10^{-6}$ and $0.14{\times}10^{-6}$ at 1592 Hz($\omega=10^4$) respectively. But the measurement uncertainty of this bridge system can be achieved $0.03{\times}10^{-6}$ by using some substitution method.

I perform bit error rate(BER) analysis of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) systems impaired by both direct current(DC) offset and carrier frequency offset. By analyzing the BER performance for real OFDM systems employing 16-quadrature amplitude modulation(QAM) and pilot symbol estimation, the dependency of BER on the DC offset and carrier frequency offset is quantified and compared to ideal performance. Results show that the magnitude of frequency offset and DC offset are required to be less than 0.01 and 0.007, respectively.

Herein, a new space-time block coding technique is proposed for a MIMO 2 × 2 multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) system to minimize the bit error rate (BER) in Rayleigh fading channels with reduced decoding complexity using ZF and MMSE linear detection techniques. The main objective is to improve the service quality of wireless communication systems and optimize the number of antennas used in base stations and terminals. The idea is to exploit the correlation product technique between both information symbols to transmit per space-time block code and their own orthogonal Walsh-Hadamard sequences to ensure orthogonality between both symbol vectors and create a full-rate orthogonal STBC code. Using 16 quadrature amplitude modulation and the quasi-static Rayleigh channel model in the MATLAB environment, the simulation results show that the proposed space-time block code performs better than the Alamouti code in terms of BER performance in the 2 × 2 MIMO system for both cases of linear decoding ZF and MMSE.

The main purpose of this paper is to solve the second kind Volterra integral equations by Clenshaw-Curtis spectral collocation method. First of all, we can transform the integral interval from [-1, x] to [-1, 1] through a simple linear transformation, and discretize the integral term in the equation by Clenshaw-Curtis quadrature formula to obtain the collocation equations. Then we provide a rigorous error analysis for the proposed method. At last, several numerical example are used to verify the results of theoretical analysis.

This paper presents an active noise cancelling model using wavelet transform and subband filter banks based on adaptive filter. The analysis filter banks decompose input and error signals into QMF filter banks of lowpass and highpass bands. Each filter bank uses wavelet filter with dyadic tree structure. The decomposed input and error signals are iterated by adaptive filter coefficients of each subband using filtered-X LMS algorithm. The synthesis filter banks make output signal of wideband with perfect reconstruction to prepare adaptive filter output signals of each subband. The analysis and synthesis niter hants use conjugate quadrature filters for Pefect reconstruction. Also, The delayed LMS algorithm model for on-line identification of error path transfer characteristics is used gain and acoustic time delay factors. The proposed adaptive active noise cancelling modelis suggested by system retaining the computational and convergence speed advantage using wavelet subband filter banks.

Timing recovery loop composed of the Timing Error Detector(TED), loop filter and resampler is widely used for the timing synchronization in MQASK receivers. Since TED is sensitive to the delay between the symbol period of the signal and sampling period, the output is averaged out when the symbol rate and sampling rate are quite different the recovery loop cannot work at all. This paper presents a sampling frequency discriminator (SRD), which detects the frequency offset of the sampling clock to the symbol clock of the MQASK data transmitted. Employing the SRD, the closed loop timing recovery scheme performs the frequency-aided timing acquisition and achieve the synchronization at extremely high sampling frequency offset, which can be used in variable symbol rate MQASK receivers.

This paper presents a Ku-Band Doppler Radar System to measure respiration and heart rate. It was measured by using simultaneous radar and ECG(Electrocardiogram). Arctangent demodulation without dc offset compensation can be applied to transmitted I/Q(In-phase & Quadrature-phase) signal in order to improve the RMSE(Root Mean Square Error) about 50 %. The power leaked to receiving antenna from the transmitting antenna is always generated because of continuously opening the transceiver of CW(Continuous Wave) Doppler radar. As the output power increase, leakage power has an effect on the SNR(Signal-to-Noise Ratio) of the system. Therefore, in this paper, leakage cancellation technique that adds the signal having the opposite phase of the leakage power to the leakage power was implemented in order to minimize the decline of receiver sensitivity. By applying the leakage cancellation techniques described above, it is possible to measure the heart rate and respiration of the human at a distance of up to 35 m. the heart rate of the measured data at a distance of 35 m accords with the heart rate extracted from the ECG data.

In this paper, we designed 1 chip IC for 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer used for various IoT/M2M mobile devices such as smartphone, wearable device and etc. We especially focused on analysis of gyroscope noise and proposed new architecture for removing various noise generated by gyroscope MEMS and IC. Gyroscope, accelerometer and geo-magnetic sensors are usually used to detect user motion or to estimate moving distance, direction and relative position. It is very important element to designing a low noise IC because very small amount of noise may be accumulated and affect the estimated position or direction. We made a mathematical model of a gyroscope sensor, analyzed the frequency characteristics of MEMS and circuit, designed a low noise, compact and low power 1 chip 6-axis inertial sensor IC including 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer. As a result, designed IC has 0.01dps/${\sqrt{Hz}}$ of gyroscope sensor noise density.

Adaptive modulation(AM) is an important technique to increase the system efficiency, in which transmitter selects the most suitable modulation mode adaptively according to channel state in the temporary and spatially varying communication environment. Fixed modulation on channels with varying signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) is that the bit-errorrate(BER) probability performance is changing with the channel quality. An adaptive modulation scheme can be designed to have a BER which is constant for all channel SNRs. The correct as well as fast and simple SNR estimation is required essentially for this adaptive modulation. In order to operate adaptive modulation system effectively, in this paper, we analyze the effect of SNR estimation performance to it through the average BER and data throughput. Applying SNR estimation based on auto-correlation of decision feedback signal and others to adaptive modulation system, we also confirm performance degradation or improvement of its which is decided by SNR estimation error at each transition point of modulation level. Since SNR estimation based on auto-correlation of decision feedback signal shows stable estimation performance for various quadrature amplitude modulation(QAM) comparatively, this can be reduced degradation than others at each transition point of modulation level.

This paper describes an acoustic communication receiver structure, which is designed for QPSK (Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) signal with 25 kHz carrier frequency and 5 kHz symbol rate, and takes samples from received signal at 100 kHz sampling rate. Based on the described receiver structure, optimum design parameters, such as number of taps of FF (Feed-Forward) and FB (Feed-Back) filters and forgetting factor of RLS (Recursive Least-Square) algorithm, of joint equalizer are determined to minimize the BER (Bit Error Rate) performance of the joint equalizer output symbols when the acquisition data in shallow water using implemented acoustic transducers is decimated at a rate of 2:1 and then enforced to the input of receiver. The transmission distances are 1.4 km, 2.9 km, and 4.7 km. Analysis results show that the optimum number of taps of FF and FB filters are different according to the distance between source and destination, but the optimum or near optimum value of forgetting factor is 0.997. Therefore, we can reach a conclusion that the proper receiver structure could change the number of taps of FF and FB filters with the fixed forgetting factor 0.997 according to the transmission distance. Another analysis result is that there are an acceptable performance degradation when the 16-tap-length simple filter is used as a low-pass filter of receiver instead of 161-tap-length matched filter.
