A Comparative Study of the Public's Image on Helping Professions: Comparison between Social Welfare Professional and Other Professionals (사회복지사와 타분야 원조전문직 간 대중이미지 비교연구)

  • This study attempts to explore and describe the public's image on social welfare professionals in the comparison with other helping professionals. Using a sample (n=1,156) collected from high school students, college students, and citizens, this study comparatively examines the public's image on five helping professionals such as social welfare professionals, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, nurses, and pastoral counselors. In measuring the public's image, this study uses a semantic differential scale that is composed of 16 pairs of adjective words. In overall, among five helping professionals, social welfare professionals is the most positively recognized; thus, its total score is the highest. By using correspondence analysis, social welfare professionals belong to the second quadrant that includes "practical" and "comfortable". As have discussed in the previous research, however, the analysis reveals that social welfare professionals' expertise is not highly evaluated. On the other hand, ANOVA shows that unlike statistically significant differences between social welfare professionals and other helping professionals, there is no statistically significant difference between social welfare professionals and clinical psychologists. Finally, MANOVA shows that except for gender social demographic variables do not make any differences in the public's image on social welfare professionals. In conclusion, this study discusses diverse directions and measures to strengthen social welfare professionals' competencies including expertise and promote the public's image social welfare professionals.

Analysis of Education Needs for Instructional Competency of Lifelong Education Instructor (평생교육 교수자의 교수 역량에 대한 교육 요구 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of current difference of education needs for instructional competency of lifelong education instructor and the level of importance of lifelong education for drawing priority. Through the literature review, this is divided the lifelong education instructor's competencies such as planning, implementation, management and support and analyzed the current level and importance with 35 items through t-test analysis. The priority for education needs is applied to Borich and the Locus for Focus model simultaneously. According to result for study, the largest item of competency for lifelong education instructor is verified with the current level and importance for building of social networking and managing competency. The top priority item of education needs for instructional competency of lifelong education instructor is located in the first quadrant of model and the Locus for Focus model, according to priority in needs for Borich and was showed in program competency. The second items in priority were derived by learning resources, information gathering, competency for focus development, equitable evaluation for student, competency for building team work. Therefore, these competencies are considered as factors for priority of lifelong instructor and will be developed in personal and organizational development.

A Study on the Determinants of Apartment Price during COVID-19 Pandemic Using Dynamic Panel Model: Focusing on the Large-scale Apartment Complex of More than 3,000 Households in Seoul (동적패널모형을 활용한 코로나19 팬데믹 기간 아파트가격 결정요인 연구: 서울특별시 3000세대 이상 대규모 아파트 단지를 중심으로)

  • This study investigated price factors for large apartment complexes in Seoul during the COVID-19 pandemic and compared Gangnam and non-Gangnam areas, which have been recognized as heterogeneous markets. We find that the change in apartment prices in large-scale complexes did not significantly affect the individual characteristics of apartments, unlike previous studies, but was affected by macroeconomic variables such as interest rates and money. On the other hand, considering the units of the interest rate and total monetary volume variables, the effects of two variables on the apartment sales price is significantly high. In addition, the Gangnam area model analysis shows that apartment prices are greatly affected by interest rates and currency volume, and, the non-Gangnam area model analysis shows that apartment prices are greatly affected by interest rates and currency volume, but the degrees are different from the Gangnam area model. Overall, our study shows that interest rates and money supply were the main factors of apartment price changes, but apartment prices in non-Gangnam areas are more sensitive to changes in interest rates and money supply.

A Study on the Determination of Scan Speed in Whole Body Bone Scan Applying Oncoflash (Oncoflash를 적용한 전신 뼈 영상 검사의 스캔 속도 결정에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The various studies and efforts to develop program are in progress in the field of nuclear medicine for the purpose of reducing scan time. The Oncoflash is one of the programs used in whole body bone scan which allows to maintain the image quality while to reduce scan time. When Those applications are used in clinical setting, both the image quality and reduction of scan time should be considered, therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the criteria for proper scan speed. Materials and Methods: The subjects of this study were the patients who underwent whole body bone scan at the departments of nuclear medicine in the Asan Medical Center located in Seoul from 1st to 10th, July, 2008. The whole body bone images obtained in the scan speed of 30cm/min were classified by the total counts into under 800 K, and over 800 K, 900 K, 1,000 K, 1,500 K, and 2,000 K. The image quality were assessed qualitatively and the percentages of those of 1,000K and under of total counts were calculated. The FWHM before and after applying the Oncoflash were analyzed using images obtained in $^{99m}Tc$ Flood and 4-Quadrant bar phantom in order to compare the resolution according to the amount of total counts by the application of the Oncoflash. Considering the counts of the whole body bone scan, the dosed 2~5 mCi were used. 152 patients underwent the measurement in which the counts of Patient Postioning Monitor (PPM) were measured with including head and the parts of chest which the starting point of whole body bone scan from 7th to 26th, August, 2008. The correlations with total counts obtained in the scan speed of 30cm/min among them were analyzed (The exclusion criteria were after over six hours of applying isotopes or low amount of doses). Results: The percentage of the whole body bone image which has the geometric average of total counts of under 1,000K among them obtained in the scan speed of 30cm/min were 17.6%(n=58) of 329 patients. The qualitative analysis of the image groups according to the whole body counts showed that the images of under 1,000K were assessed to have coarse particles and increased noises. The analysis on the FWHM of the images before and after applying the Oncoflash showed that, in the case of PPM counts of under 3.6 K, FWHM values after applying the Oncoflash were higher than that before applying the Oncoflash, whereas, in the case of that of over 3.6 K, the FWHM after applying the Oncoflash were not higher than that before applying the Oncoflash. The average of total counts at 2.5~3.0 K, 3.1~3.5 K, 3.6~4.0 k, 4.1~4.5 K, 4.6~5.0 K, 5.1~6.0 K, 6.1~7.0 K, and 7.1 K over (in PPM) were $965{\pm}173\;K$, $1084{\pm}154\;K$, $1242{\pm}186\;K$, $1359{\pm}170\;K$, $1405{\pm}184\;K$, $1640{\pm}376\;K$, $1,771{\pm}324\;K$, and $1,972{\pm}385\;K$, respectively and the correlations between the counts in PPM and the total counts of image obtained in the scan speed of 30 cm/min demonstrated strong correlation (r=.775, p<.01). Conclusions: In the case of PPM coefficient over 3.6 K, the image quality obtained in the scan speed of 30cm/min and after applying the Oncoflash was similar to that obtained in the scan speed of 15 cm/min. In the case of total counts over 1,000 K, it is expected to reduce scan time without any damage on the image quality. In the case of total counts under 1,000 K, however, the image quality were decreased even though the Oncoflash is applied, so it is recommended to perform the re-image in the scan speed of 15 cm/min.

Training Needs Analysis for the Roles and Competency of Field Representatives in Electric Work (전기공사 현장대리인의 역할 및 역량에 대한 교육요구분석)

  • The purpose of this study are to provide the basic data materials and implementations for successful performance of electric-work field representatives of South Korean firms by identifying their roles and competency and examining their educational need. For this research purposes, three phased analysis was followed on: (1) the roles of electric-work field representatives, (2) competency of electric-work field representatives and (3) educational need for their competency. This research method was to conduct a focus group interview for 10 expert field representatives along with survey. The collected data materials were processed by MS Excel and SPSS 21.0 for statistical analysis including average, standard deviation and other basic statistics; the gap in awareness of field representatives; and need values. For the needs analysis, the difference between significance of field representatives' competency and current status was examined by t test. And the awareness gap between competency importance and current status was identified based on the Borich equation. The Locus for Focus model was employed herein to identify the kinds of competency with high importance and high inconsistency to prioritize. As a result, this research has found as follows: first, the roles of field representatives were found to be in 13 different kinds of roles. Second, electric-work field representatives were found to need to have 16 different skills. Third, regarding the 16 abilities, the gap between current status and significance was analyzed herein. The results showed statistically significant differences in all cases. The Borich needs analysis found the first required ability was communication ability followed by power of execution, conflict management ability, analytical thinking and time management ability. Also, the results of Locus for Focus model analysis displayed that the first quadrant(HH) included 7 highly-demanded abilities of communication ability, analytical thinking, decision making ability, specialty, time management ability, power of execution and drive for work implementation. The top-priority group was found to have 5 items of communication ability, analytical thinking, time management ability, power of execution and drive for work implementation which were commonly seen in the Locus for Focus model outcomes. Based on these findings, this research could identify the roles and competency of electric-work field representatives and provide the basic data materials applicable to future personal management of electricity companies including recruitment, division of work, job description, evaluation, etc. Also this research offered guidelines on demanded abilities in the field and where to place priority. The kinds of abilities with high educational demand as found in this research must be considered in designing educational programs for the competency building of field representatives. This research is expected to provide useful information in developing such educational programs for field representatives.

ASSESSMENT OF DENTAL ANXIETY IN THE CHILD PATIENT BY THEIR DRAWINGS (환아의 그림을 통한 치과치료시 불안도 평가)

  • The aim of the present study was to establish validity for Dental Anxiety Scale in children by their drawings. Dental treatment was provied for 35 children in the ages of 4 to 8, using the quadrant approach. The children's anxiety arising during dental treatment was measured by Modified Sheskin's Criteria(Dental Anxiety Scale, DAS). After reliability analysis of Dental Anxiety Score, it was compared with Faces Pain Scale and was tested for their correlation. Thereafter the several factors having an effect on Dental Anxiety Scale were examined. A significant correlation(r=0.2610) was found between the two scales and Dental Anxiety Scale was high significantly in 4-6 score of Faces Pain Scale. The findings suggested that the Dental Anxiety Scale is a valid means of assessing child dental anxiety status in a clinical context and the Dental Anxiety Scale can be affected by 'Age', 'Gender' and 'Reaction in the past'.

Analysis of Geomagnetic Field measured from KOMPSAT-1 Three-Axis Magnetometer (다목적위성 삼축자력계로부터 관측된 지구자기장에 관한 연구)

  • The Earth's total magnetic field was calculated from on board TAM(Three-Axis Magnetometer) observations of KOMPSAT-1 satellite between June 19th and 21st, 2000. The TAM's telemetry data were transformed from ECI(Earth-Centered Inertial Frame) to ECEF(Earth-Centered Earth-Fixed Frame) and then to spherical coordination. Self-induced field from the satellite bus were removed by the symmetric nature of the magnetic field. The 2-D wavenumber correlation filtering and quadrant-swapping method were applied to eliminate the dynamic components and track-line noise. To test the validity of the TAM's geomagnetic field, ${\phi}$rsted satellite's magnetic model and IGRF2000 model were used for statistical comparison. The correlation coefficients between KOMPSAT-1/${\phi}$rsted and KOMPSAT-1/IGRF2000 models are 0.97 and 0.96, respectively. The global spherical harmonic coeffi-cient was then calculated from the KOMPSAT-1 data degree and order of up to 19 and compared with those from IGRF2000, $\phi$rsted, and CHAMP models. The KOMPSAT-1 model was found to be stable to degree & order of up to 5 and it can give new information for the low frequency components of the global geomagtic field.

Analysis of Mammography for Patient with Breast Cancer (유방암 환자를 대상으로 한 유방영상검사 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of breast cancer from mammography images and to investigate the characteristics of patients who was diagnosed as a breast cancer. The subjects for this study were 85 patients who underwent breast imaging test with screen-film method and investigated from March 2010 to October 2010. The average age of the subjects is 51.9 years old. The 43.5% of onsets were located at the upper outer quadrant (UOQ). In terms of the age group, group for 40-49 ages were highest 37.6 (32/85)%. As for breast composition, fatty and dense breast were 30.6% (26/85) and 69.4% (59/85) respectively. The average age of the patients with fatty breast is 62.4 years old, whereas those with dense breast was 46.5 years old. The false negative rate of mammography images was 27.1% (23/85) and the sensitivity of mammography was 72.9% (62/85). The false negative rate of the patients with dense breast was 32.2% (19/59). the sensitivity of them was 67.8% (40/59).

Effects of Reusing and the Recommendation Depending on the Satisfaction Rate of Coffee Shop Service Quality (커피전문점 서비스품질 만족이 재 이용 및 추천의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose was to contribute substantially in terms of marketing strategic planning and implementation of coffee shops. Additionally, the target was set as the favorite coffee shops on the basis of the young people. Through the IPA Matrix, subdividion variable was derived and by using the variables in each quadrant, tested the variables that have significant effect on satisfaction, reuse, and recommendation intentions. The study results showed that there was a significant difference in the importance performance (IPA) difference analysis of coffee shop service quality elements and this proved that empirically, the expectations were different. Additionally, it was evident that there were statistically significant and not statistically significant elements in the relationship between service quality element and the overall satisfaction rate in each elements shown in the IPA. Through this, it was possible to provide the information on what service quality elements to focus and distribute. It was possible to understand that the ultimate goal should be satisfaction since the overall satisfaction positively affects the reuse and intention of recommendation and it was possible to re-confirm the previous studies which stated that overall satisfaction, reuse, and recommendation intentions have a positive influence.

The prediction of the tooth size in the mixed dentition for Korean (한국인에서의 혼합치열기 공간분석)

  • Estimating the size of unerupted teeth is an essential aspect of orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning in the mixed dentition. Several methods were introduced and used for the prediction. The most common methods among these would be Moyers probability chart and Tanaka and Johnston equations. These are currently used widely, but they were developed for Caucasians. Because there are clear racial differences in teeth size, the objectives of this study were to produce correlation coefficients between the combined mesiodistal widths of the permanent mandibular incisors and those of the canines and premolars for each quadrant, and prediction tables with regression equations, specifically for Korean. 178 young adults (70 women, 108 men, mean age 21.63 years) were selected from the College of Dentistry, Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. The mesiodistal crown diameters of the permanent teeth were measured with calipers. Significant sexual dimorphism was found in tooth sizes. The correlation coefficients between the total mesiodistal width of the mandibular permanent incisors and those of the maxillary and mandibular canines and premolars were found to be between 0.52 and 0.64. The standard error of the estimatation was better (0.60) for women and the ${\gamma}^2$ values ranged from 0.27 to 0.41 for both sexes Prediction tables were prepared for Korean. This study showed larger canine and premolar diameters than Tanaka and Johnston's and Moyers' studies which might be due to the racial differences. Further investigations with a larger sample size will be needed for more representative data on the Korean population.
