This study has been done in order to help the people understand the cancer patients and provide the basic materials for the care of cancer patients by deeply understanding the living experience of the practice of alternative therapy for cancer patients. Data were collected with several in depth interviews and observations. Collected datas were analyzed by using phenomenological method of study by Giorgi (1970). The trial experience of alternative therapy for cancer patients has been classified into the one of having concerns, following, being infatuated, and coming out by pushing, and the experience of having concerns appeared as the meaning of the limit of modern medicine, despair, loneliness. hope, emotional support. dissolution of the feeling of uneasiness. the feeling of burden of the medical expense, self-treating, the subject of treatment. and indifference while the experience of following appeared as the meaning of blind following, temptation, going outside to look for something, wandering. following unconditionally, advise of the professionals, mistaken belief. self-abandonment, powerlessness. disconnection of dialogue with the medical staff. elevation of immunity, strengthening the physical power, absence of the source of examined information, clinging, self-responsibility. the experience of being infatuated appeared as the meaning of thorough trial. affirmative experience. devotion. diverse efforts, faithful trial. affirmative self-suggestion. change of the style of life. the feeling of burden of expense, being envious, bitter feeling toward the family, considering family, family discords, and difficulty of enforcement. The experience of coming out by pushing appeared as the meaning of waiting. self-reflection. maintaining the distance. cutting attachment, throwing the greed away, coming out by pushing. being thoughtful. accepting disease. individual difference of physical quality, and ambivalence. But they return to the experience of being concerned all over again in case of recurrence or metastasis of the disease even though they come out of such stage, and they always have ambivalence even in the condition with no recurrence and metastasis. In conclusion, the trial of alternative therapy for cancer patients could be explained as the adaptive behavior to the disease which is difficult to be cured. the cancer. The cancer patients are exposed to the side effects and harm without the examined information resources. Therefore the nurse should well aware of the alternative therapy and be able to do the appropriative management through the open communication with the patients who are under the trial of alternative therapy.

Pulling-type cutting devices, which use a diamond wire saw, have been used generally for cutting concrete structures. In this study, a pushing-type cutting device with a collection cover was developed by overcoming the disadvantages of pulling-type devices. In this device, dry or liquid methods can be selected to cool frictional heat. Operation and leakage tests of the dust generated during the dismantling of a concrete structure were carried out, confirming the suitable operation of the fabricated cutting device; the leakage rate was approximately 1.7%. For a conservative evaluation, the internal dose of workers was estimated in dismantling the core center part of biological shield concrete with a specific activity of 99.5 Bq·g^-1. The committed effective dose per worker was 0.25 mSv. The developed cutting device contributed to reducing radioactive concrete waste and minimizing worker exposure due to its easy installation. Therefore, it can be utilized as a cutting apparatus for dismantling not only reinforced concrete structures but also radioactive biological shield concrete in nuclear power plant decommissioning efforts.

This paper describes the implementation of document image restoration system for the geometric distortion using structured light. To get accurate document images, the bounded book must be flattened by pushing down the book with a class plate. However, most of ancient documents are too fragile to be pushed. The proposed system restores the distorted character image due to geometric distortion.

Every few years the low-tying coastal plains of Bangladesh are seriously flooded by storm surges, in which fierce cyclones develop in the Bay of Bengal and then move towards the coast, pushing large masses of sea water onto the land. The coastal areas are densely populated and the combination of high winds and deep floods invariably kills thousands of people. (omitted)

One of the major discoveries in extragalactic astrophysics made over the past few years is the detection of ultra-diffuse galaxies, a new type of galaxies which appear to be far more numerous than normal galaxies, and which are giants in terms of size, yet dwarfs in terms of luminosity. These galaxies point to the huge discovery potential of the last niche that remains to be explored in observational parameter space: the sky at extremelylow surface brightness. Implications for objects in the Solar System, stellar physics, the interstellar medium, galaxies and cosmology will be addressed, along with the major challenges for pushing the frontiers in ground- and space-based observations.

Every web server comprises a repository of all actions and events that occur on the server. Server logs can be used to quantify user traffic. Intelligent analysis of this data provides a statistical baseline that can be used to determine server load, failed requests and other events that throw light on site usage patterns. This information provides valuable leads on marketing and site management activities. In this paper, we propose a method of design for log analysis system using RTMA(realtime monitoring and analysis) technique.

We reported pushing of colloidal particles by a moving isotropic-nematic phase boundary. Here, we report tailoring the structure of 3-dimensional networks formed by these particles by adjusting the rate of phase transition and by application of an electric field. The resulting networks affect the electro-optic performance of liquid crystal devices.

The modeling for the looper of a hot strip finishing mill to control the tension of the strip is presented. The looper is an arm pushing against the strip between stands in a tandem mill to keep the strip tension constant and to isolate the interactions of the adjacent stands. Tension is influenced by the difference in mass flow through the up stream and down-stream rolling stands. Tension is critical to strip quality, influencing width, gauge, and shape. This paper presents how looper angle and strip tension are controlled for a hot strip finishing mill.
