The purposes of this research were to; (a) identify useful information source; (b) assess the usefulness of the Internet as an information source; and (c) assess the degree of Internet utilization for purchasing process in food service industry. The results were as follows; 1. 'personal experience and colleague recommendation' was perceived as the most useful information source, whereas the most frequently used source was 'Internet web site' for real purchasing practice. 2. the most frequently used purchasing activity through Internet was 'online ordering', followed by 'gathering product/component information', however e-marketplace or Internet bidding were less performed by Internet. 3. acquisition of real time information, rapidity, accuracy, and increasing effectiveness of purchasing process were reported the advantages of Internet utilization. 4. respondents somewhat or strongly agreed with the importance of Internet in terms of present and future purchasing management. The results of the research suggest that Internet should be able to improve purchasing process and enhance buyer-supplier relationship directly or indirectly, therefore food service industry should consider making attempt to new purchasing systems through Internet for strategic sourcing and effective procurement management.
The purpose of this study was to test the effect of the clothing purchasing situation on the preceived risk and information search behavior. Data were obtained from 369 students who were studying in Semyung University. The results of this study were as follows : 1. Students gave the clothing to their favorites as a gift 1 to 2 times in a year. And they thought self using purchasing was more important than gift giving purchasing. 2. In gift giving purchasing, perceived risks were higher than self using purchasing. But the economic risk was the exception. In that case, students showed more information search behavior except family search source. 3. According to the situation, main and interactive effect of sex and involvement level on perceived risk and information search behavior were significant. In self using purchasing, involvement level had the main effect to the type of information search behavior. But the family search source was the exception Also in gift giving purchasing, they showed the same results. In self using purchasing, main effects of sex and involvement level on perceived risk were significant. Also in gift giving purchasing, they showed the same results, but the socio-psychological risk was the exception.
Purpose - In order to collect information needed for the establishment of more effective marketing strategies of on-line purchasing agent services targeting Chinese consumers, the study investigated the relationship among Chinese selection criteria. They included fashion products, use of information source, and satisfaction with on-line purchasing agent services. The study also identified the differences in the Chinese selection criteria of fashion products, use of information source, and the satisfaction level with on-line purchasing agent services according to their age and gender. Research design, data, and methodology - The study was implemented through a normative-descriptive survey method using a self-administered questionnaire. Data were collected from February 9 to 28, 2016, and analyzed by factor analysis, ANOVA and Duncan test, t-test, and multiple regression analysis. Results - Differences were found in selection criteria of fashion products and use of information sources among groups. Thirty's age group was concerned about price/brand more than the twenty's were. Twenty's were concerned about practicality/quality of the products more than the thirty's. Hallyu/broadcasting was used by men more than by women as an information source of Korean fashion. SNS/WOM(word of mouth) was used more by women than by man. Twenty's showed lower level of satisfaction with customer services/credibility than other factors. The thirty's showed lower level of satisfaction with informational role of the service than other factors. Those who utilize each type of fashion information source more showed higher satisfaction level with on-line purchasing agent service of Korean fashion products.. In general, according to the selection criteria and use of information, there were differences in satisfaction with on-line purchasing agent service of Korean fashion products. Conclusions - Considering the findings of the study, as well as age, gender, selection criteria and use of information source, Chinese consumers could be used as a criteria of market segmentation for on-line purchasing agent services of Korean fashion products. The results manifested that there is a need to differentiate marketing strategies according to the satisfaction levels with each satisfaction factors of on-line purchasing agent service of Korean fashion products.
This study is conducted to examine elderly consumers' information needs according to information sources. And the relation with related variables purchasing problems of the elderly consumers and their needs according to information sources is investigated. The data was collected from 782 elderly consumers ages range from 55 to 74 and major findings are as follows: (1) Their needs according to information sources are relatively high and followed by neutral information source department store personnels and advertisements (2) The more esperiences they have and the more seriously they perceive their purchasing problems in a relatively poor conditon of a market the more information they want from department store personnels. (3) How many experiences they have and how much they perceive seriously in purchasing problems are the major intervening variables which have strong positve effects on the needs. The experiences show the strongest effects on the needs. The level of the percept on is strongly related to the needs and neutral information source is the major effect among the information sources.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of sociocultural attitudes toward appearance, clothing and cosmetics purchasing behaviors according to male consumer's age group. The research method was survey and subjects were 656 male consumers. The results were as follows. First, three factors (appearance importance awareness, appearance internalization, and slimness importance awareness) were emerged on sociocultural attitudes toward appearance. Young age group showed higher level of appearance importance awareness and internalization than middle age group. Second, there were many differences on clothing purchasing behaviors by age variable. Young age group more importantly considered psycho-social purchasing motives, aesthetic selection criteria, and the internet as information source and purchasing place than middle age group. Whereas middle age group more importantly considered practical purchasing motives, practical selection criteria, and store display & salesman as information sources, and fashion outlet as purchasing place than young age group. Third, there were also many differences on cosmetics purchasing behaviors by age variable. Young age group used more and various cosmetics, and they more importantly considered skin improvement as purchasing motive, skin suitability and price as selection criteria, the internet as information source and purchasing place than middle age group. On the other hand, middle age group generally used fundamental cosmetics, and they more importantly considered skin protection as purchasing motive, quality as selection criterion, TV and store display & salesman as information sources, and discount store and cosmetics speciality store as purchasing places than young age group.
The purpose of this study was to analyze clothing fashion leadership and make-up fashion leadership of women's university students and investigate the relationships of information sources and ongoing information search. To achieve the purposes, a questionnaire was conducted to 400 female students from September 21 to October 30, 2011. The final data was analyzed with spss 17.0 program. The results were follows. First, It was found that information sources were classified 3 factors of marketer source, personal source, and mass media source. Second, there were significant differences of clothing fashion leadership and make-up fashion leadership by major and clothes and cosmetics purchasing expenses. Third, there were significant differences of clothing information sources and ongoing information search by major and clothes and cosmetics purchasing expenses. Forth, there were significant differences of make-up information sources and ongoing information search by major and clothes and cosmetics purchasing expenses. Fifth, there were significant relations of clothing/make-up fashion leadership, information sources, and ongoing information search. Thus, it was found that clothing fashion leadership and make-up fashion leadership are related to information sources and ongoing information search.
The purpose of this study is to provide consumers with practical information for reasonable purchasing by analyzing apparel purchasing behavior. information source use, demographic differences in terms of life style patterns, moreover, to support apparel manufacturers in producing goods and making a plan by developing more effective advertisements and efficient marketing strategy, such as media strategy. This study targeted 832 men and women wearing sports casual wear. Information source is used to analyze the data and MANOVA, ANOVA. Scheffe is employed for post-inspection and demographic bases are based on the frequency of each type. The followings are the conclusions of this study : 1. In case of print media, TV, PC factor, fashion advocates and individuality advocates most frequently used information source. In case of purchasing experience factor, individuality advocates skewed higher frequency than conformity type. and then, in case of observation information use factor, individuality advocates were ranked as the highest and conformity type as the lowest. In case of human information use factor, fashion advocates and individuality advocates showed higher frequency than practical type and conformity type. 2 In case of female, Individuality advocates was ranked as the highest. In case of male, practical type and conformity type were rank as the highest. Fashion advocates ranked as the lowest in any case. 3. Individuality advocates were ranked as the highest among people aged 14 to 16, practical type among 17 to 19, conformity type among 20 to 23, conformity type among over 20. 4. Middle school students tended to be the individuality advocates, high school students the practical type, university students the practical type and the conformity type, and company workers conformity type.
This study is to compare clothing purchasing behaviors between Korean and American college students, especially men. A theoretical study was reviewed, then the survey was performed. 200 questionnaires were utilized for this study. The SPSS 12.0 was used to analyze the technical statistics like average, frequency, t-test, $X^2$, and factor analysis. The result showed, first there were some differences in most of all the clothing Purchasing behaviors such as the reason for the purchases, the purchasing information source, the standard of selecting clothes and the standards of selecting stores. There were slight differences in the reasons for the purchases between Korean and American college men. Both of them said that they purchase clothes to satisfy their needs and the situation. The American college men were slightly higher than the Korean college men for both the need.situation and impulse motive. Regarding the information sources for the purchase, The Korean college men were slightly higher than the American college men for the media information sources and lower than them for the human information sources. Regarding the standard for store selection, the college men from both countries considered product service to be the most important. The American college men considered the convenient and store services to be more important than Korean college men. Regarding the standard fur clothes selection, the Korean college men considered the clothing that matched their personal styles to be the most important standard, however, the American college men considered the attractive from the opposite sex as the important standard.
The purposes of this study were to identify the effect of clothing involvement and shopping orientations on the usage of information sources and to investigate the differences of clothing involvement, shopping orientation and clothing purchasing behavior according to the types of information source usage. The study subjects comprised 302 females living in Seoul. The datas were analyzed with factor analysis, regression, ANOVA, discriminant analysis, and $x^2$-test. The results generated from this study are as follows: First, clothing involvement and shopping orientation factors influenced the usage of information source. Among the clothing involvement factors, fashion/clothing involvement was the most important factor to the types of information source. Second, according to usage of information sources, female consumers were classified into four groups, such as active, nonpersonal, personal, and non-active information source usage group. Fashion/clothing involvement was the most significant involvement factor to divide four groups. Third, among the demographic variables, only age was the useful factor which can differ the usage of information source. For example, 30s' were more active than other groups, on the other hand 50s' use personal information source more than other groups. Therefore, marketer should blow consumer's clothing involvement and shopping orientation which are effective to the usage of information source, and use this knowledge on the advertising and marketing plan.
The study applies lifestyles based on the list of values(LOV) to the college student-consumers, classifies them and compares traits. The study also looks into store images of internet fashion shopping malls and differences in purchasing behaviors. The results of the study show that there are three types, namely 'self-confidence and pursuit-of-success type,'family-oriented and responsible type', and 'passive and popular-culture-consumer type'. Among the elements constituting the store images of internet fashion shopping malls, there were considerable differences between groups on 'product and information service' element and 'convenience' element. On shopping mall purchasing behavior, the study confirmed some differences on 'information source', 'product purchase amount', and 'payment method' when purchasing a product. Furthermore, there were considerable differences on shopping mall satisfaction level and repurchasing intention between groups by lifestyle-type.
