We consider a supply chain consisting of a make-to-order manufacturer and N component suppliers and study the impacts of the number of suppliers on component inventory management. The manufacturer has full information and continuously observes the state of both component inventory level and customer backorders. Based on this information, the manufacturer determines whether or not to place a component purchasing order to a supplier among N suppliers even though some orders are in process by other suppliers. The goal of this paper is to numerically identify the manufacturer's purchasing policy which minimizes the total supply chain cost and the best choice of N. Our model contributes to the current literature in that the problem of simultaneously considering multiple outstanding orders and incorporating order setup cost into the model has not been covered yet. From numerical experiment, we investigate how much the policy with N suppliers can contribute to reducing the supply cost compared to the policy with a single supplier.
The purpose of this study was to examine the consumers' purchasing behavior of budget-priced cosmetics according to the shopping orientation. Questionnaires used for this study were composed of 57 questions including 21 questions about cosmetic shopping orientation, 32 questions about budget-priced cosmetic purchasing behavior and four questions about demographic variables. Questionnaires were administrated to 20 to 49 aged 317 women who have shopping experience on budget-priced cosmetics. Data were analyzed by using factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, ${\chi}^2$-test, correlation, crosstabulation analysis, and scheffe test utilizing SPSS/WIN. The results were as follows. First, shopping orientation of cosmetics were classified into 5 factors: 'interest and impulsive purchasing tendency', 'price-oriented purchasing tendency', 'ration-oriented purchasing tendency', 'famous brand-oriented purchasing tendency' and 'brand royalty- oriented purchasing tendency'. According to the shopping orientation of cosmetics, the respondents were classified into 4 groups: 'passive shopping group', 'rational shopping group', 'active shopping group', 'neutral shopping group'. Second, when comparing each group's purchasing behavior of budget-priced cosmetics with shopping orientation of cosmetics, there was not significant difference in one time purchasing cost and the number of shop visits. In case of demographic variables concerning purchasing behavior of budget-priced cosmetics, there was significant differences in one time purchasing cost according to age, level of education and employment status. The number of shop visits had also difference according to age, level of education and monthly family income. Based on these results, marketing strategies for demographic characteristics of target market rather than the shopping orientation are needed.

This subject study includes the first and second contractor companies in Korea. The results of this study are as follow. First, the knowledge and cost price sharing activities of major purchase vendor with cooperative company had a positive effect on the trust of cooperative company, however this was not so with the information sharing activities in that case. Second, the trust of contractors on large purchasing enterprises was positively influenced by sharing activities with purchasing activities of major company. Third, the knowledge and cost price sharing activities of purchasing enterprise with contractors on the sharing activities were mediated by the trust of contracting company on the large purchase enterprise. According to this study, the mediated effect of trust relationship can influence a contracting company. Whereas preceding studies of sharing activities were conducted about unidirectional instruct of large purchase enterprises to small and medium size contracting companies, this study was conducted on bidirectional effects, which included knowledge, cost price, information sharing activities between contracting companies and large purchasing enterprises. Conclusively, this study showed the possibility of spreading cognitive and change about mutual benefits strategy between small and medium size contracting company and large purchasing enterprise.
Since 2001, Korea government has been purchasing the generation from renewable generation facilities with the higher incentive prices than market price in order to increase the penetration of renewable energies. Generally, the incentive purchase tariff is calculated on the base of the generation cost of renewable power facilities. This paper constructs the input data for economic analysis and evaluates the generation cost of PV, wind power, LFG and small hydro power using LCCA model.
This study was to explore purchasing behavior and repurchase intention by considering social-face sensitivity and conspicuous consumption. To do this, first, this study tried to explain how consumers had different characteristics for social-face sensitivity, conspicuous consumption, purchasing behavior, and repurchase intention for outdoor wear. Second, this study tested the relationship between consumer behavior (purchasing behavior and repurchase intention) and social-face sensitivity by considering the mediating effect of conspicuous consumption. As the results, first, there was a significant relationship between social-face sensitivity (sensitivity to saving face) and conspicuous consumption, which had a significant effect on the purchasing behavior with outdoor wear(purchase frequency, purchase cost). Second, social-face sensitivity (consciousness of shame) had a significant effect on conspicuous consumption (preference for famous brands, status symbol, pursuing fashion), and social face sensitivity (consciousness of social formality) had a significant effect on conspicuous consumption (preference for famous brands). The relationship between the conspicuous consumption and purchasing behavior showed that conspicuous consumption had significant effects on consumer behavior (purchase frequency, purchase cost). The relationship between the social-face sensitivity and purchasing behavior showed that being conscious of others had a significant effect on purchasing behavior. Third, purchasing behavior with outdoor wear had a significant effect on repurchase intention. Finally, this study confirmed that conspicuous consumption had a partially significant mediating effect on the relationship between social-face sensitivity (sensitivity to saving face) and purchasing behavior.

The study seeks to identify the factors affecting the green marketing element of students' food purchasing decision at Co-opMart supermarket chain in Ho Chi Minh City through the application of a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods that include probability sampling and convenient sampling of 400 students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH). The data are analyzed with SPSS software using Cronbach's Alpha, Exploratory Factor Analysis, Multiple Linear Regression and PATH model to test the model through the intermediate variable 'student's perception' and the hypotheses, identifying the green marketing effects on HUTECH students' food purchasing decisions at Ho Chi Minh City Co-opMart supermarket chain. The results of the study identify four factors of the green marketing mix (4Cs), namely, green commodity, green cost, green convenience, and green communication. All these factors have an influence on the student's food purchasing decision at Co-opMart supermarket. Cost is the strongest factor eliciting student's interest in purchasing green products, followed by convenience, then communication. Commodity has the least impact on green purchasing decision. This study proposes some feasible solutions for Co-opMart managers to attract more students using green food in the complex situation of contaminated food, which is extremely harmful to consumers' health.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the purchasing behavior and selection attributes for Home Meal Replacement (HMR) and to identify the selection attributes affecting purchasing frequency and purchasing costs of married women living in a city. Among 837 questionnaires distributed to HMR married women consumers, 752 complete questionnaires (89.8%) were analyzed. The younger married women group showed higher frequency of purchasing HMR than the older age group. The 20s and 30s age groups showed higher purchasing costs for HMR than the 40s and older age groups. A higher proportion of employed married women purchased HMR three or more times per week and spent an average of more than 20,000 won per purchase in comparison with unemployed married women. HMR selection attributes were classified into five factors: 'taste and sanitation', 'economic efficiency', 'health and nutrition', 'convenience', and 'reliability and awareness'; mean scores of these factors' importance levels were 4.28, 3.93, 3.59, 3.54, and 3.50 out of 5 points, respectively. The importance level of 'taste and sanitation' factor was significantly greater as married women's age decreased. However, the importance level of 'health and nutrition' factor was significantly greater as married women's age increased. The results of the logistic regression analyses indicate that the 'taste and sanitation' and 'health and nutrition' factors affected frequency of purchasing HMR. The 'reliability and awareness' factor had the most significant impact on cost per purchasing HMR. Therefore, a product differentiation strategy according to married women's age and employment status should be applied. Product qualities and brand value should be improved to enhance competition in the HMR market.

Increasing peak load is one of the major concerns about operation of urban railroad systems. Since ESSs (Energy Storage Systems) have a great potential for shaving the peak load, there has been a growing interest in the use of ESS for peak load reduction. Also, ESS can be optimally scheduled to minimize the electricity purchasing cost under a given ToU (Time-of-Use) tariff by taking advantage of electricity price difference between peak and off-peak time. This paper presents a Mixed Integer Programming (MIP)-based ESS scheduling method to minimize the electricity purchasing cost under a ToU tariff for an urban railroad system.
