This paper presents a multi-domain topology optimization using the harmonically excited coil and the iron in order to focus pulsed magnetic field (PMF). The design sensitivity of the harmonic magnetic field is derived by adjoint variable method. As a result of the optimization, PMF is considerably concentrated on the objective domain with much less leakage than the initial model.

The pulsed poser system has been widely used to many applications, such as E/P(Electrostatic Precipitator), DeNox/DeSOx power system, ozon generator, etc. A pulse energy efficiency for load depends on the rising time, peak value, pulse duration and impedance matching, etc. The pulse generator generally required for short pusle duration and high peak value was forced to consider its volume and economy. In this study, developing a compact pulse generator that applied for cascading method to be made of two pulse transformers, we compared cascading voltage with non cascading one by applying the pulse energy to load. Adopting cascading technique to pulse transformer, we found that average cascading voltage was about 60[%] of theoretical value. Maximum cascading ratio was calculated at 60 times compared with non cascading voltage.
High voltage pulse power supply using Marx generator and solid-state switches is proposed in this study. The Marx generator is composed of 12 stages and each stage is made of IGBT stack, two diode stacks, and capacitor. To charge the capacitors of each stage in parallel, inductive charging method is used and this method results in high efficiency and high repetition rates. It can generate the pulse voltage with the following parameters: Voltage: up to 120kv Rising time: sub ${\mu}S$ Pulse width: up to $10{\mu}S$, Pulse repetition rate: 1000pps The proposed pulsed power generator uses IGBT stack with a simple driver and has modular design. So this system structure gives compactness and easiness to implement total system. Some experimental results are included to verify the system performances in this paper.

The electronic equipment which is exposed to high level pulsed radiation is damaged by Upset, Latchup, and Burnout. Those damages come from the instantaneous photocurrent from electron-hole pairs generated in itself. Such damages appear as losses of a power in military weapon system or as a blackout in aerospace equipment and eventually caused in gross loss of national power. In this paper, we have implemented a RDC(Radiation detection and control module) as a part of the radiation protection technology of the electronic equipment or devices from the pulsed gamma radiation. The RDC, which is composed of pulsed gamma-ray detection sensor, signal processors, and pulse generator, is designed to protect the an important electronic circuits from the a pulse radiation. To verify the functionality of the RDC, LM118s, which had damaged by the pulse radiation, were tested. The test results showed that the test sample applied with the RDC was worked well in spite of the irradiation of a pulse radiation. Through the experiments we could confirm that the radiation protection technology implemented with the RDC had the functionality of radiation protection for the electronic devices.

Pulse transformers have been developed to apply for pulsed power technology as an alternative of a Marx generator. To obtain repetitive pulsed power generation, it is necessary to observe the rising time of output of pulse transformer. In this paper, using the equivalent circuit, The rising wave of output of pulse transformer is simulated for various input wave by using the Electromagnetic transient program(EMTP).

Helical magneto-cumulative generator(HMCG)s are very useful devices in suppling pulsed high current to inductance loads. To apply fast high voltage pulses to high impedance loads, high current outputs of HMCGs are required to be conditioned to higher voltages by using various pulse components such as opening/closing switches and pulse transformer. In this paper, stepping with the trends of requirements for ever-increasing energy in pulsed power applications coupling methods is investigated to obtain higher output energy by connecting several HMCGs in series or parallel way. The coil dimension of HMCGs used in series or parallel connections was 50 mm in diameter and 150 mm in length. The coil was fabricated by using enamel-coated copper wire of 1 mm in diameter. The highest energy amplification ratio and peak voltage of load were achieved from the serially connected four-barrel HMCG system. They were 68 and 34 kV, respectively, when the initial energy of 0.36 kJ was supplied into that system with the load of 0.4 μH. Within the tested range of inductance ratio, energy amplification ratio was found to be highly dependent on the inductance ratio of serial- and parallel-connected HMCG systems to load, which to be optimal around 500 was turned out. The experimental results showed that the output energy and voltage of load are controlled by connecting HMCGs in series or parallel.

The pulsed power system was widely making use good of many industrial and environments. The pulse generator generally required for short pulse duration and high peak value was forced to consider its volume and economy. In this paper, this system is designed and fabricated which has a compact size of pulse generator with switched MOSFET. We have studied the removal of rust material using Arc discharging. It have tested their characteristics by adjusting variable voltage charging and pulse repetition rate. As a result, We can eliminate rust materials with this device.
An electromagnetic generator with variable stimulation parameters is required to conduct basic research on magnetic flux density and frequency for pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMFs). In this study, we design an electromagnetic generator that can conduct basic research by providing parameters optimized for cell and animal experimental conditions through adjustable stimulation parameters. The magnetic core was selected as a solenoid capable of uniform and stable electromagnetic stimulation. The solenoid was designed in consideration of the experimental mouse and cell culture dish insertion. A voltage and current adjustable power supply for variable magnetic flux density was designed. The system was designed to be adjustable in frequency and pulse width and to enable 3-channel output. The reliability of the system and solenoid was evaluated through magnetic flux density, frequency, and pulse width measurements. The measured magnetic flux density was expressed as an image and qualitatively observed. Based on the acquired image, the stimulation area according to the magnetic flux density decrease rate was extracted. The PEMF frequency and pulse width error rates were presented as mean ± SD, and were confirmed to be 0.0928 ± 0.0934% and 0.529 ± 0.527%, respectively. The magnetic flux density decreased as the distance from the center of the solenoid increased, and decreased sharply from 60 mm or more. The length of the magnetic stimulation area according to the degree of magnetic flux density decrease was obtained through the magnetic flux density image. A PEMF generator and stimulation parameter control system suitable for cell and animal models were designed, and system reliability was evaluated.

This paper describes an all solid-state switch pulse generator for various applications where square pulse voltage is required. The pulse generator produces various voltage pulses: voltage $5{\sim}100kV$. current $10{\sim}200A$, pulse width $1{\sim}10{\mu}sec$, repetition rate up to 500Hz. The output power is the combination of these parameters up to 10kW. It consists of a DC-DC converter and several pulse generating modules which are connected in series to obtain higher pulse voltage. Each module contains semiconductor switches (IGBT's), energy storage capacitors and control units to trigger switches. The structure and operational principle are described and the protection circuit for reliable operation is suggested. Experimental results show that the pulse generator can be used for applications with nonlinear loads.
