멸치액젓 유래 저분자 물질의 항산화활성 (Antioxidative Activity of Low Molecular Weight Biocompounds Purified from Anchovy (Engraulis japonicus) Sauce)

  • Antioxidative activities of low molecular weight biocompounds purified from anchovy (Engraulis japonicus) sauce fermented at $15\pm3^{\circ}C$ for 5 years were investigated. The fermented anchovy sauce showed 5 peaks on gel chromatography pattern. Antioxidant activity of peak 2 was $82.7\%$ followed by $42.6\%$ of peak 1. Main antioxidant compounds of peak 1 were glutamic acid and lysine, but those of peak 2 were not confirmed by amino acid sequence analysis.

  • As a renewable power source, wind power generation has been research interest for many years. And power electronic converters have been developed and applied in variable speed wind turbines. This paper presents the basic development and implementation of space-vector modulated three phase AC-AC matrix converter for variable speed wind power system. Basic matrix converter operation is described, where a new bidirectional switch structure with commutation circuit is used. Finally, experiment results of basic converter operation are shown.

Barrier-Transition Cooling in LED

  • This paper proposes and analyzes recycling of optical phonons emitted by nonradiative decay, which is a major thermal management concern for high-power light emitting diodes (LED), by introducing an integrated, heterogeneous barrier cooling layer. The cooling is proportional to the number of phonons absorbed per electron overcoming the potential barrier, while the multi-phonon absorption rate is inversely proportional to this number. We address the theoretical treatment of photon-electron-phonon interaction/transport kinetics for optimal number of phonons (i.e., barrier height). We consider a GaN/InGaN LED with a metal/AlGaAs/GaAs/metal potential barrier and discuss the energy conversion rates. We find that significant amount of heat can be recycled by the barrier transition cooling layer.

플라즈마 활성 소결에 있어서 다이스의 온도분포에 미치는 몰드 크기의 영향 (Effect of Mold Dimensions on Temperature Distribution of Die during Plasma Activated Sintering)

  • In the present study, the focus is on the analysis of the effect of the mold dimensions on the temperature distribution of a die during plasma activated sintering. The temperature distribution of a cylindrical mold with various dimensions was measured using K-type thermocouples. The temperature homogeneity of the die was studied based on the direction and dimensions of the die. A temperature gradient existed in the radial direction of the die during the plasma activated sintering. Also, the magnitude of the temperature gradient was increased with increasing sintering temperature. In the longitudinal direction, however, there was no temperature gradient. The temperature gradient of the die in the radial direction strongly depended on a ratio of die volume to punch area.

  • We present a simple algorithm for detection of red patches by remote sensing in coastal waters of Korea. The red tide patches can by identified by the relative intensity of red band signal with respect to the blue-green background signal, provided the radiometric signals only in the sea area are properly stretched. We tested our algorithm by Ocean COlor Monitor(OCM) data of Indian Satellite IRS-P4, which has been received from 2001 by National Fisheries Research and Development Institute of Korea. A comparison of our results with observation shows that the locations of red tides derived from remote sending imagery by our algorithm are in accordance with observations.

  • 본 연구는 최근 창업공간으로서 코워킹스페이스가 성공적으로 운영될 수 있도록 운영전략을 도출하는데 그 목적이 있다. 따라서 문헌조사를 통해 운영에 필요한 요소들을 도출하였고, 이에 대한 우선순위를 파악하기 위해 AHP 방식으로 설문지를 설계한 후 코워킹스페이스 운영자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 가장 높은 순위를 가진 3대 운영요소는 커뮤니티 및 커뮤니케이션, 공간 및 인테리어, 서비스 다양화 및 가격정책으로 확인되었고, 이에 대해 관련 분야 전문가들과 논의하여 코워킹스페이스의 운영전략을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 코워킹스페이스 운영요소 소개 및 우선순위 도출방법 제시를 통해 코워킹스페이스를 도입하고자 하는 공공, 민간분야에서 초기단계에 운영모델, 운영전략으로 활용할 수 있다는 점에서 의미하는 바가 크다고 할 수 있다.

Effect of Partial Dietary Substitution of Meat Meal for Fish Meal on the Growth and Body Composition of the Juvenile Olive Flounder Paralichthys olivaceus

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of partially substituting meat meal for fish meal on the growth and body composition of juvenile olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus during the winter season. Twenty-five fish (initial body weight, 23 g) were distributed into twelve 250 L flow-through tanks. Four experimental diets were prepared in triplicate: the control, MM20, MM40, and MM60 diets. Sixty percent mackerel meal was used as the primary protein source in the control diet. Meat meal was substituted for 20, 40, and 60$\%$ of the mackerel meal in the MM20, MM40, and MM60 diets, respectively. Survival was not significantly affected by the experimental diets. However, the weight gain and specific growth rate of fish fed the control, MM20, and MM40 diets were significantly higher than those of fish fed the MM60 diet (P<0.05). The feed efficiency ratio of fish fed the control, MM20, and MM40 diets was significantly higher than that of fish fed the MM60 diet (P<0.05). The protein efficiency ratio for fish fed the control diet was significantly higher than that for fish fed the MM40 and MM60 diets (P$\%$ substitution of meat meal for fish meal in the diet could be implemented without a reduction in growth or deterioration of the feed efficiency of juvenile olive flounder during the winter season.

스크래치 방지를 위한 테이퍼 롤링형 판재 누름키의 개발 (Development of Tapered Rolling Type Strip Pressure Key for the Prevention of Scratch)

  • 본 논문은 판재 성형을 위한 제관 라인의 판재 이송부에 장착되는 판재 누름키의 설계 개선에 관한 연구이다. 기존의 블록형 누름키가 판재의 종 방향 및 횡 방향 이송 과정에서 깊은 스크래치가 유발되는 것을 방지하기 위해 테이퍼진 롤러가 누름키 내부에 장착되어 가이드하도록 하는 테이퍼 롤러 누름키를 개발하였다. 이를 통해 판재의 종 방향 이송시 테이퍼 형상의 효과로 접촉부의 압력 스파이크를 저감시켜 판재의 스크래치 발생을 최소화하고 횡방향 이송시 미끄럼 접촉이 아닌 구름 접촉으로 유도하여 표면 스크래치를 원천적으로 방지할 수 있음을 스크래치 실험을 통해 그 효과를 확인하였다.

냉동저장동안 풋콩의 품질에 영향을 미치는 Blanching 조건 (Effects of Blanching Conditions on the Quality of Immatured Soybeans during Frozen Storage)

  • Blanching conditions for immatured soybeans were optimized by analyzing the effects of various time/temperature blanch treatment on the activities of peroxidase and lipoxygenase, the stability of vitamin C and color, and moisture content in immatured soybeans for the purpose of minimizing quality deterioration during frozen storage. Blanching at 96$^{\circ}C$ for 70 sec led to maximum inactivation of lipoxygenase in the immatured soybeans, while my blanching conditions tested in this study were not enough to inactivate peroxidase. Blanching at 82$^{\circ}C$ for 60 sec resulted in the highest amount of vitamin C remaining in the immatured soybeans after blanching. Hunter -a/b ratios of immatured soybeans blanched at 82$^{\circ}C$ for 60 sec and hue values (ΔE) of the immatured soybeans blanched at 76$^{\circ}C$ for 60 sec showed the closest values to those of fresh products. The changes in moisture content of immatures soybeans was not so significant after blanching. In conclusion, it was suggested that immatured soybeans be blanched at 96$^{\circ}C$ for 70 sec to minimize lipoxygenase activity and resulting quality deterioration, while blanching at 82$^{\circ}C$ for 60 sec was recommended to stabilize vitamin C and color.

남해 및 남동해역 대륙붕 퇴적물의 지음향 특성 (Geoacoustic Characteristics of Shelf Sediment in the South Sea and Southeastern Sea of Korea)

  • Physical and geoacoustic properties of inner shelf sediment in the South and Southeastern Seas of Korea have been studied based on six piston core samples. The sediments are largely composed of homogeneous mud except the core from the southeasternmost part of the area. Both physical and geoacoustic properties and mean grain size are relatively uniform with sediment depth, suggesting little effect of sediment compaction and/or consolidation. Mean grain size appears to be the most Important variable to determine the physical and acoustic properties. In contrast, the attenuation shows more or less fluctuations. Correlations between physical properties and sediment texture show slight deviations from those of the compared data, caused by the difference of sedimentary processes, mineral composition, and the difference of measurement system. In particular, the velocity is lower (approximately 20-30 m/s) than that of the previous data measured in the same area. This is probably due to the difference in velocity measurement system (particularly, error by a length of sample). We propose new relationships for physical and geoacoustic characteristics of shelf sediment in the study area.
