  • Using King's model, we derived the dynamical masses of six globular clusters. The masses of clusters were calculated from the dynamical length parameters combined with the central velocity dispersion. The dynamical masses are all in the range from $2.5{\times}10^{5}M_{\odot}$ to $1.4{\times}10^{5}M_{\odot}$. The $(M/L_v)_{\odot}$, values lie between 1.0 and 1.2, which are typical for galactic clusters.

  • New empirical relations between stellar CaII emission and rotation or age are derived by analyzing Wilson's CaII flux measurements (1968, 1978) of lower main sequence stars, and then we correlate them with their age and rotation rate. It is found that stellar chromospheric emission decays smoothly with age as a star slows down rotationally, establishing that both the emission level and rotation rate decrease with the square root of age.

  • Since Goldreich and Julian's pioneering work in 1969, the pulsar magnetosphere theory has been dramatically developed for theorists to possess an elegant axisymmetric, stationary model. Based on this development the black hole magnetosphere theory has also been established in the last 30 years. Such theoretical developments will be reviewd equation by equation in this paper.

  • We have analyzed 221 data of daily sunspot observations made during the period of January 1 to December 30 in 1999 and presented the daily relative sunspot numbers. During the year of 1999, our annual average of relative sunspot numbers is found to be 130.1. This number is obtained from the averaged daily number of 6.7 spot groups, in which there are about 45.9 distinct spots observed. According to the appearance of 384 spot groups, our analysis shows that the mean life time of spot group is about 5 day and 4.6 hours.

  • We have developed a new device, Plate-to-CCD Convertor (PCC), to conveniently digitize photographic plates in a relatively short time without losing any plate information (Oh et al. 1995). Using this device we have performed surface photometry of 12 early type galaxies. We determined relative orientations and scales to analyze PCC images. We also determined an ellipticity, position angle of the major axis, and $a_4$ of each galaxy to quantify the distribution of surface brightness. We checked the performance and limitation of this device by comparing the PCC images with those digitized by the ST microdensitometer and those obtained with CCD observations.

  • We analyze 271 data of the daily sunspot observations during the period of January 1 to December 31 in 1994 and present the daily relative sunspot numbers. During the 1994, the preliminary annual average of the relative sunspot numbers is found to be 32.9 based on 12.4 distinct spots in a single group for 2.2 spot groups. According to the appearance of 146 spot groups, our analysis shows that the mean life time of spot group is about 4 day and 19.2 hours.

  • We discuss a new IRAS Faint Source Catalog galaxy redshift catalogue (RIFSCz) which incorporates data from Galex, SDSS, 2MASS, WISE, AKARI and Planck. AKARI fluxes are consistent with photometry from other far infrared and submillimetre missions provided an aperture correction is applied. Results from the Hermes-SWIRE survey in Lockman are also discussed briefly, and the strong contrast between the galaxy populations selected at 60 and $500{\mu}m$ is summarized.

  • This paper demonstrates that there is a unique exponentially stable equilibrium state of a class of impulsive cellular neural network with delays. The analysis exploits M-matrix theory and generalized comparison principle to derive some easily verifiable sufficient conditions for the global exponential stability of the equilibrium state. The results extend and improve earlier publications. An example with its simulation is given for illustration of theoretical results.
