  • As people increasingly rely on mobile networks in modern society, mobile communication security is becoming more and more important. In the Long Term Evolution/System Architecture Evolution (LTE/SAE) architecture, the 3rd Generation Partnership (3GPP) team has also developed the improved Evolved Packet System Authentication and Key Agreement (EPS AKA) protocol based on the 3rd Generation Authentication and Key Agreement (3G AKA) protocol in order to provide mutual authentication and secure communication between the user and the network. Unfortunately, the EPS AKA also has several vulnerabilities such as sending the International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) in plain text (which leads to disclosure of user identity and further causes location and tracing of the user, Mobility Management Entity (MME) attack), man-in-middle attack, etc. Hence, in this paper, we analyze the EPS AKA protocol and point out its deficiencies and then propose an Efficient and Security Enhanced Authentication and Key agreement (ESE-EPS AKA) protocol based on hybrid of Dynamic Pseudonym Mechanism (DPM) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) retaining the original framework and the infrastructure of the LTE network. Then, our evaluation proves that the proposed new ESE-EPS AKA protocol is relatively more efficient, secure and satisfies some of the security requirements such as confidentiality, integrity and authentication.

  • In this paper, a conventional key exchange method simply performs the key exchange setup step based on discrete algebraic subjects. But the mutual-authentication procedure of wireless PKI for reducing authentication time uses an elliptical curve for a key exchange setup step. Proposed handover method shows reduced handover processing time than conventional method since it can reduce CRL retrieval time. Also, we compared proposed authentication structure and conventional algorithm. and simulation results show that proposed authentication method outperforms conventional algorithm in all environment regardless of call arrival rate. queue service rate. queue size.

  • Kerberos authenticates clients using symmetric-key cryptography, and supposed to Oust other systems of the realm in distributed network environment. But, authentication and authorization are essential elements for the security. In this paper, we design an efficient and secure authentication/authorization mechanism by introducing the public/private-key and installing the proxy privilege server to Kerberos. In the proposed mechanism, to make a system more secure, the value of the session key is changed everytime using MAC(message authentication code) algorithm with the long-term key for user-authentication and a random number exchanged through the public key. Also, we reduce the number of keys by simplifying authentication steps. Proxy privilege server certifies privilege request of client and issues a privilege attribute certificate. Application server executes privilege request of client which is included a privilege attribute certificate. Also, a privilege attribute certificate is used in delegation. We design an efficient and secure authentication/authorization algorithm with Kerberos.

  • This paper is proposed Hadoop security protocol to protect a reply attack and impersonation attack. The proposed hadoop security protocol is consists of user authentication module, public key based data node authentication module, name node authentication module, and data node authentication module. The user authentication module is issued the temporary access ID from TGS after verifing user's identification on Authentication Server. The public key based data node authentication module generates secret key between name node and data node, and generates OTKL(One-Time Key List) using Hash-chain. The name node authentication module verifies user's identification using user's temporary access ID, and issues DT(Delegation Token) and BAT(Block Access Token) to user. The data node authentication module sends the encrypted data block to user after verifing user's identification using OwerID of BAT. Therefore the proposed hadoop security protocol dose not only prepare the exposure of data node's secret key by using OTKL, timestamp, owerID but also detect the reply attack and impersonation attack. Also, it enhances the data access of data node, and enforces data security by sending the encrypted data.

  • To provide the confidentiality of messages transmitted over the network, the use of cryptographic system is increasing gradually and the hybrid cryptosystem, which combines the advantages of the symmetric cryptosystem and the public key cryptosystem is widely used. In this paper, we proposes a new hybrid cryptosystem capable of providing implicit authentication for the sender of the ciphertext by means of the 1-pass key distribution protocol that offers implicit key authentication, hash function and symmetric cryptosystem. Also, we describe some examples such as the Diffie-Hellman based system and the Nyberg-Ruppel based system. The proposed hybrid cryptosystem is an efficient more than general public key cryptosystems in the aspect of computation work and provides implicit authentication for the sender without additional increase of the communication overhead.

  • The development of IT technology and breakthrough of the network and the wired network, wireless network boundaries disappear and wired and wireless integrated service environment is the advent in online game environment. However, the wired and wireless integrated service environment appropriate security technology is still inactive, wired and wireless integration environment due to the characteristic as well as security threats wired network and security threats in wireless networks should be considered. Therefore, This wired and wireless integrated environment has been considering studied various, Among them wired and wireless environment considering the lightweight of ID-based authentication and key management has been in progress. In recent, Moon et al. pervasive environment in authentication and ID-based key management protocol is proposed. However, Moon et al.'s scheme is use the ID-based public-key approach to decreased the amount of computation. However, pairing by using a technique similar to the existing public key scheme can represent the amount of computation. Therefore, In this paper the way of Moon etc in security vulnerability analysis.

  • To achieve confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation simultaneously, the concept of signcryption was introduced by combining encryption and a signature in a single scheme. Certificate-based encryption schemes are designed to resolve the key escrow problem of identity-based encryption, as well as to simplify the certificate management problem in traditional public key cryptosystems. In this paper, we propose a new certificate-based signcryption scheme that has been proved to be secure against adaptive chosen ciphertext attacks and existentially unforgeable against chosen-message attacks in the random oracle model. Our scheme is not based on pairing and thus is efficient and practical. Furthermore, it allows a signcrypted message to be immediately verified by the public key of the sender. This means that verification and decryption of the signcrypted message are decoupled. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first signcryption scheme without pairing to have this feature.

  • WLAN user authentication is mostly based on user password resulting in vulnerability to the notorious 'offline dictionary attack'. As a way around this problem. EAP-TTLS and PEAP protocols are increasing finding their way into WLANs, which are a sort of combination of password protocols and the TLS public-key protocol. This leads to the use of the public-key certificate of the WLAM authentication server, and naturally the concern arises about its revocation status. It seems, however, that any proper soulution has not been provided to address this concern. We propose a very efficent and proper solution to check the certificate revocation status.

  • In this paper, we introduce a novel Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) based message authentication scheme that takes advantage of temporal and spatial uniqueness in physical layer channel responses for each transmission pair in vehicular communication networks. The proposed scheme aims at achieving fast authentication and minimizing the packet transmission overhead without compromising the security requirements, in which most messages can be authenticated through an extreme fast physical-layer authentication mechanism. We will demonstrate that the proposed secure authentication scheme can achieve very short message delay and reduced communication overhead through extensive analysis and simulation.

  • The method of accessing multiple control systems in the OT control network centered on operation technology uses the operator authentication technology of each control system. An example is ID/PW operator authentication technology. In this case, since the OT control network is composed of multiple control systems, operator authentication technology must be applied to each control system. Therefore, the operator must bear the inconvenience of having to manage authentication information for each control system he manages. To solve these problems, SSO technology is used in business-oriented IT networks. However, if this is introduced into the OT control network as it is, the characteristics of the limited size of the OT control network and rapid operator authentication are not reflected, so it cannot be seen as a realistic alternative. In this paper, a public key-based authentication mechanism was newly proposed as an operator authentication technology to solve this problem. In other words, an integrated public key certificate that applies equally to all control systems in the OT control network was issued and used to access all control systems, thereby simplifying the authentication information management and making access to the control system more efficient and secure.
