Hear infrared (NIR) spectra were measured, at five temperatures, for forty-eight samples of honey, from a variety of geographical and botanical sources, and the data has been used to explore the possibility of using NIR spectroscopy for testing label claims concerning the geographical and botanical source of honey being offered for sale to the public. These results demonstrate that the successful characterization of the botanical source of a honey may be obtained by NIR spectroscopy. Further work with large numbers of samples and groups will be required to realized this potential. Additional analysis of these data suggest that research into new ways of obtaining information on the change of absorption with temperature might be beneficial for a range of technologies.
Purpose: ISO 26000 is a newly emerging international standard for corporate social responsibility. This paper aims to derive core subjects of primary concern when introducing and practicing corporate social responsibility. Methods: Perceived performance and importance levels on core subjects in ISO 26000 are investigated, and a survey is conducted from members of organizations having published CSR reports. Frequency analysis, analysis of variance, cross tabulation and IP analysis are used to analyze surveyed data. Results: Items to be improved with high emphasis among 7 core subjects in ISO 26000 are organizational governance for public and private service sectors, fair operating practices for industrial goods manufacturing sectors, and organizational governance and environment for consumer goods manufacturing sectors. Human rights and labor practice are perceived as having high performances in comparison with importance. Conclusion: Organizations should find ways to build social responsibility into their governance systems and procedures with high priority.

Using the 1995 Survey of Consumer Finances, this study investigates how family life-cycle stages and financial management practices affect household saving. First findings are that household income and householders education, race and ethnicity have significant effects on saving. Second, regarding the effect of the family life-cycle stages, younger married couples without children, middle pre-retired households without dependent children, and older households without dependent children are more likely to save than other similar households in the life-cycle stage of younger single households. Third, households with longer financial planning horizons, saving goals for retirement, purchase of durable goods and emergency goods, and low credit card debt are more likely to save. Based on the results, implications for financial management education and public policy are suggested.

Data released by the National Fire Agency showed that the total incidence of fires from 2014 to 2023 was 410,497, among which 75,215 were house fires, constituting 18% of the total occurrences. The fatalities resulting from house fires numbered 1,435. Fatalities stemming from prior house fires occurred between midnight and 6 am, coinciding with periods of sleep and diminished responsiveness to fire emergencies. A fire safety labeling system is proposed to prevent fire hazards associated with household products. This system primarily entails indicators of thermal energy and inherent fire attributed to household products. Furthermore, the Korea Fire Safety Institute has suggested adopting a risk label as a concrete measure plan for implementing the fire safety labeling system for household products. The results promise to safeguard the public against fires and increase the exports of household commodities by enhancing the corporate reputation through positive association with fire safety measures.
Due to characteristics of modern society including technological development, various methods engaging interaction between people and manmade environment have become one of the major issues raised in various fields of deign so called interactive design. Interactive design started as the interface between human and computer system, but now expanded to interior design field enhancing spatial experience of users. Now, many corporates are looking into interactive design to bridge the gap between company or brand identity and consumers as marketing tool. The current study investigates interactive concepts and characteristics of corporate participated public spaces and tries to define their design methods according to spatial marketing strategies. Using theoretical inquiry, cultural events and delivery of corporate identity information were defined as two major spatial strategies through cognitive or behavioral approaches. Moreover, digital, constructive, and expressive presentations were found to be most common design methods. Through this theoretical framework, 7 selected samples in Korea are analyzed in order to find detailed design characteristics. It is hoped that this study may serve in understanding current design approaches of interactive corporate public spaces and useful guideline when designing interactive public spaces not only as means of marketing strategies but even for public goods.
This research attempted to present the efficiency of culture marketing to the organizations producing culture-art products and to the companies utilizing art and suggest the practical viewpoints to the culture and art policy agencies. The methodology used was to take an in-depth look at the consumer value cognition and benefits of culture-art products in contemporary consumption culture from a social context by conducting a total of 12 Focus Group Interviews, consisting of 58 males and females in their 10s~50s who can represent culture-art product consumers. The culture-art products refer to the artist's spiritual, actual act of creating or to the end products with economic exchange value. They are also sense goods and merit goods that affect the mental state of consumers. By looking at culture-art products as consumer merit goods, this research examined consumer value cognition of culture-art products based on the characteristics culture-art products. As a result, this research determined that consumers view culture-art products largely as 'aesthetic and sensuous merit goods', 'actual and individual merit goods', and 'social public property'. As 'aesthetic and sensuous merit goods', culture-art products are considered as the products of an artist's creative activities; as 'social public property', culture-art products have a public value in terms of ownership; and as 'actual and individual merit goods', culture-art products act on the spirit and reality of a consumer in terms of consumption. As a result of analyzing the benefits of culture-art products based on the above-mentioned consumer value cognition, it was observed that the benefits of culture-art-product consumption are chiefly divided into 'aesthetic character-oriented', 'social relationships-oriented', and 'individual benefits-oriented' depending on how consumers see culture-art products. A 3-conceptional structures model was constructed according to the relationship between consumer value cognition of culture-art products and the benefits. This research revealed that consumers who pursue the aesthetic value or sense of beauty as the central reason experience culture-art products themselves, enjoy intellectual quests, and pursue their satisfaction by expressing affection for and interests in culture-art products. On the other hand, consumers who pursue social value as the central reason as a means of communication by perceiving culture-art products as a public property of society, pursue sympathy with people close to them through the symbolic power of culture-art product consumption or the joy of self-display. Consumers who perceive art products as spiritual and actual merit goods and pursue consumer value as a central reason want to express their own personality, develop themselves, and differentiate themselves or identify themselves with others in the context of social relations for the ultimate goal of living a happy and satisfied life while pursuing to satisfy imminent and actual necessities as emotional stability and rest. The fact that culture-art product benefits could vary according to how a consumer perceives them implies that consumer value cognition of culture-art products and their benefits significant affect consumers' decision in choosing and consuming various culture-art products. It turned out that such benefits from the consumption of culture-art products reflect the complex contemporary consumption culture of rational consumption, symbolic consumption, experiential consumption, and social reflective consumption. This research identified conceptional structures of consumer value cognition on culture-art products and benefits that can be used for studying and understanding culture-art products consumers who pursue a variety of consumption values. They can also be used by private companies in utilizing art, as well as by national agencies in enhancing the population's quality of life. However, since this research could only conceptually grasp consumer perception of culture-art products and reveal the dimension of classification due to its own limitations arising from characteristic investigation, quantitative data on the benefits of culture-art product consumers should be measured in future studies through a quantitative investigation, while using the value cognition of culture-art products and the individual characteristics of consumers as variables based on this research.
Many studies using trademark information have suggested that trademark information is good data to monitor business trends. This study intends to analyze the trend change before and after COVID-19 using trademark information. Changes before and after COVID-19 were analyzed by using goods & service classification, similar group code, and designated goods information as trademark information. Among the trademark information, it was statistically significant that the change in trends before and after COVID-19 using designated goods names. To verify the results, the changes in keywords using designated goods names before and after COVID-19 were compared with the frequency of keywords in Google Trends. Among the top 8 keywords extracted from designated goods names, the frequency of Google trend searches for 'online, antibacterial, prevention of epidemics, meal kit, virtual' is on the rise, and 'mask, droplet' is not on the rise, but it increased rapidly at the time of COVID-19, and even after COVID-19, it showed a higher level than before. The frequency of 'unmanned' does not differ much before and after COVID-19, but it has been maintained at a consistently high level, and related businesses have been active since before COVID-19, and it can be interpreted as a keyword with high public interest. This study has academic achievements in that it specifically identified information that could be used in business trends by using three types of trademark information.
The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze Jacqueline Kennedy and Michelle Obama's fashion style from a perspective of modernism and postmodernism. The method utilized in this study was first, to examine the properties of modernism and postmodernism. Next, we explored the types of role performance of the first ladies and the application of their fashion as an aid to their roles through the precedents of the research concerning modernism and postmodernism. The results of the study are as follows. First, there was a trend of formalism and anti-formalism. Jacqueline Kennedy made her public appearances wearing a formal dress in order to express the first lady's authoritarian figure of restrained elegance. The fashion of the first lady aspired to formalism. Meanwhile, Michelle Obama followed more of a free style by eschewing the typical formality of the first lady. She created diverse styles utilizing a variety of items, which were not interrupted by form or by using heterogeneous items. Second, there is a trend of elitism and populism. While Jacqueline Kennedy preferred only haute couture designers' costume in order to show the prestige and dignity of the upper class, Michelle Obama patronized unknown designers' clothing or mid-level casual brand goods that the public favors in order to interact with the public through her fashion. Third, while modernism regards totality or unity to be important, postmodernism puts an emphasis on the eclecticism by pursuing complexity and diversity through the deconstruction of an indigenous genre. In case of Jacqueline Kennedy, this tendency featured monotone clothing color, which presented a unified full set dress that excluded decoration. Michelle Obama, in contrast, mixed and matched formal dresses and a casual cardigan or felicitously mixed luxury brand or low to middle priced brand goods.
Interest on ocean environment has increased with the development of industrialized activities. Public marine resorces are defined broadly to include fish stocks, beaches, marine waters, recreational fishing, biota, waterfowls, shorebirds, seabirds and marine mammals But, it is not easy to analyze compensation for injury to publicly owned marine resources because the claimants do not exist clearly and the economic methodology of damage on public goods is not developed fully. This paper introduces basic idea of welfare economic theory and environmental legislation to the research question : How the economics and law can be applied to the case of damage on publicly owned marine resource. The paper discusses the concepts of willingness to pay (WTP) and willingness to accept (WTA). It is accepted generally that WTA is correct concept of welfare change in the case of damaged public goods. Four methods (compensating variation, equivalent variation, compensating surplus, equivalent surplus of measuring welfare changes are compared. Compensating variation(CV) is the best measure of welfare changes are compared. Compensating variation(CV) is the best measure of welfare changes caused by environmental damage. Vartia (1983) showed CV could be measured from the ordinary demand function using the differential equations. This paper also provides an overview of the emerging U.S. and Korea legal system for compensation for natural resource damages, with particular emphasis on U.S. legal system under Comprehensive Environmen-tal Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA). These regulations are to include two different types of standardized procedures for assessing natural resources injury : Type A or simplified assessment techniques for small releases ; and Type B protocols that would include detailed and extensive assessment methodologies for major releases. Type A procedures are specified by Natural Resources Damage Assessment Model for Coastal and Marine Environment (NRDAM/CME) of the U.S. CERCLA provides a legal 'legitimization for the use of economic-based nonmarket valuation in the courts and have introduced appropriate and accurate nonmarket valuation methods based on willingness to-pay for damage assessment. By briefly reviewing economic theory and environmental legislation, we hope to help provide a better understanding of the compensation process and the economics of publicly owned marine resources in the U.S. and to integrate the economics and law of natural resources valuation into a single comprehensive package in Korea.
As growing importance and concern of waterfront, we have tried to study its landscape, accessibility, landuse and so on as well as its environmentally sound and sustainable development. In fact we had been under the false thought that it always gaves what we wanted, and it was neglected in its economic value. This paper/looks at one alternative, the non-market value generated by management of waterfront as public resources. We consider the question : how much are people willing to pay to improve, how much are people want to improve\ulcorner The contigent valuation method was implemented during Sep. 9 to 14 in 3 beaches ; haeundae, Gwanganri, Songjeong. They are representative waterfronts which have been widely known and visited. We find out that households are willing to pay about 12,000-16,000 den per year for improving nature elements and inviting more valuable functions about 3 beaches. Especially Ive pay attention to difference between cognitive and comprehensive satisfaction 3 beaches and their substructural factors satisfaction such as natural environment, public facilities, recreational facilities and etc.
