This research attempted to examine the concept of social capital and intellectual capital for re-conceptualizing the library's total values. This approach enabled research to analyze that social capital formation is created by public libraries as functioning agencies. Intellectual capital consisted of human capital, structural capital and social capital was examined on applicability in the public libraries by understanding social capital. The research outlined the mechanism for total values of libraries. Finally the findings of this research were expected to help to research for libraries' identity.

Objectives : This study was conducted to examine the differences in the association of intellectual capital with organizational effectiveness of nursing organizations between public and private hospitals. Methods : A total of 166 nurses (82 of public hospital and 84 of private hospital) were recruited for the survey. Nurses' job satisfaction, organizational commitment, intellectual capital, sociodemographics, work-related factors, and health status were measured. Results : Nurses of public hospitals reported significantly higher scores in human capital, customer capital, job satisfaction, emotional engagement, and transactional commitments than did those of the private hospital. Human capital private and structural capital were significantly associated with nurses' job satisfaction in both public and private hospitals. Customer capital was positively associated with the emotional and transactional commitment in the public hospital, while, structural capital was associated with transactional and normative commitment in the private hospital. Conclusions : We could confirm that the nurses' intellectual capital is important the effectiveness of nursing organizations in both public and private hospitals.

Public diplomacy activities can benefit from social capital theory, when its social dynamics is elucidated in the investment of complex social networks and in the establishment and management of relationships with foreign publics. Social capital theory explains that actors can produce purposive actions to mobilize resources in social structures, which thus explains the dynamics of social interactions. In response to the lack of conceptual frameworks for understanding public diplomacy activities within social capital theory, we conducted a narrative literature review that intends to identify the means through which international actors, such as governments, engage with foreign publics through the dynamics of social networks and the resources embedded in them. In addition, we explored the multidimensional characteristics of social capital to enhance the comprehension of the manner in which actors access, share, and maintain resources in target communities, institutions, or organizations through public diplomacy activities. In summary, we highlight the importance of new theoretical explorations on the application of social capital theory to public diplomacy and the need for a research agenda in the field.

The aim of the study is to explore the impact of intellectual capital and knowledge management on public sector innovation and also role knowledge management as the mediator variable. The study applied a descriptive quantitative method and by using a simple random sampling approach to 200 civil workers in Indonesian government entities. The data was gathered using an online questionnaire technique and analyzed using the AMOS program for structural equation modeling (SEM). According to the findings of the research, intellectual capital has a substantial influence on knowledge management. As a result, intellectual capital and knowledge management have a significant impact on public sector innovation, with knowledge management serving as a mediator between intellectual capital and public sector innovation. Besides that, the findings of this study suggest that organizations can increase innovation by choosing the right intellectual capital and utilizing good knowledge management. This work addresses a vacuum in the literature on applying knowledge management in the public sector, and so adds substantially to the theoretical progress of the area. Moreover, this is the first study to test the mediating role of knowledge management in the relationship between intellectual capital and innovation in the public sector of a developed country.

This research attempted to examine the influence of the public library on our society and its relationship with social capital. For this research, a theoretical approach to the relationship was required. This approach enabled the research to analyze the type and range of the social capital being studied. In addition, this research emphasized that the social influence of public libraries was equivalent to the influence of social capital, based on the interaction between individual and community. The research outlined the mechanism by which public libraries create social capital. Finally the findings of this research were expected to help to develop an effective policy for public libraries.

This paper addresses the relationship between public housing tenure and social disadvantage. The research examines social capital levels among public tenants in Australia, concentrating on their level of interpersonal trust and confidence in a range of public institutions. Through multivariate analyses of national survey data it also profiles the social and political background of public housing tenants. Although public housing tenants have access to secure and affordable housing, they appear to be less trusting and 'happy' than private renters or homeowners, and exhibit less confidence in some institutions such as the Australian parliament, universities and the ABC (the Australian public television broadcaster). These results probably reflect the residualised nature of public housing in Australia and indicate that public tenants are likely to be 'alienated' from certain aspects of mainstream culture. However, public tenants have higher levels of confidence than homeowners in the Australian defence forces and trade unions. So public housing may 'shore up' confidence and social capital in some areas, and levels of trust would be lower if public housing was not available to disadvantaged citizens.

Intellectual capital is the driving force for the competitive advantage and durability of the public library. This asset consists of the library members' competences, the organizational structure constructed by the members, and the interrelationships among the people sharing the same interests. These are called human capital, structural capital and social capital in the respective order. The purpose of the study was to provide foundational information for the public library's intellectual capital assessment as well as creating an experimental assessment model. It analysed the three characteristics of the capital, which generated an assessment index. In addition, it identified the relationship between the components of the intellectual capital and performance were discovered through empirical study to improve the assessment system.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of prep-entrepreneurs psychological characteristics and entrepreneurial intention. For this purpose, this study established Positive psychological capital and Public self-consciousness as variables of psychological characteristics based on Social Identity Theory and, as factors affecting Positive psychological capital and Public self-consciousness, established Narcissism, Self-compassion and Career ambition as independent variables based on self-affirmation Theory. In order to verify research hypotheses, 358 questionnaires collected from prep-entrepreneurs were used for the empirical analysis. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, narcissism and self-compassion has a positive effect on positive psychological capital. Second, career ambition has a positive effect on public self-consciousness. Third, positive psychological capital and public self-consciousness has a positive effect on entrepreneurial intention. As the outcome of Mediating effect positive psychological capital and public self-consciousness has a Mediating effect on the relationship between narcissism, self-compassion, career ambition and entrepreneurial intention. This study has a meaning in that it confirmed the influential relationship between the prep-entrepreneurs' psychological characteristics and entrepreneurial intentions. In addition, this study suggested its implications, limitations, and future research directions based on the study results.

Interviews with 17 Korean American professionals living in Korea revealed the relationship between their status, cultural identities, social capital, and conflicts that arise between their understanding of American and Korean social norms. The findings indicate that social capital for Korean Americans in Korea largely comprises of their English community in Korea and the Seoul Global Center; and that their access to social capital in the Korean society, in general, is limited. As result of limited availability and accessibility of social capital, with a sense of superiority, they maintained their American identity. In terms of social control, their lack of motivation to adopt and follow Korean social norms, as well as them being from the U.S., limited changes occurred in their cultural identity. Extending previous research on the Theory of Intercultural Public Relations, the public's power allows them to maintain their cultural identity, which in turn, effect their communication process. Implications of these findings, as well as suggestions for future study, are discussed.

This research works out a design for the assessment model of intellectual capital of the public library based the intellectual capital and assessment index. The public library is created by the intellectual & social capital through knowledge & information service. This study presented core competencies and index and was examined on applicability the assessment model in the public libraries. The result of this research was looked forward to help to index of quantitative and qualitative assessment in values and competencies for libraries' environment.
