  • The study of classifying gamer types or analyzing the characteristics of gamers is a field of interest for data analysis researchers. From the past to the present, much research has been done on gamer categorization and gamer analysis. However, most studies use surveys or bio-signals, which is not practical because it is difficult to obtain large amounts of data. Even if the game log is used, it is difficult to analyze the psychology of the gamer because the gamer is categorized and analyzed by extracting only statistical values. However, if we can extract the cognitive psychology information of the gamer from the basic game log, we can analyze the gamer more intuitively and easily. In this paper, we extracted eight cognitive psychological features representing the behavior and psychological information of the gamer using Crazy Dragon's game log, which is a mobile Role-Playing-Game (RPG). In addition, we classified gamers based upon cognitive psychological features and analyzed them using eight cognitive psychological features. As a result, most gamers were highly correlated with one or two types.

  • This study was to examine the positive and negative affect related to psychological characteristics of each Sasang types using Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) with 78 students from School of Korean Medicine, Pusan National University. After determining the Sasang types by QSCC II, the psychological characteristics of each Sasang types were analysed by PANAS. We did ANOVA analysis with eight related scales and found significant differences between the Tae-Eum type ($18.71{\pm}8.75$, $6.47{\pm}3.36$, $6.31{\pm}2.47$, $3.18{\pm}2.77$, $10.94{\pm}10.08$) and the So-Eum type ($13.38{\pm}6.03$, $4.55{\pm}2.23$, $4.19{\pm}2.16$, $5.81{\pm}4.20$, $1.83{\pm}9.17$, respectively) in Positive Affect (PA) (F=3.931, p=0.024), PA-Joy (F=3.991, p=0.023), PA-Interest (F=5.025, p=0.009), NA-Afraid (F=3.118, p=0.050), and Difference between Positive and Negative Affect (DPN) (F=6.355, p=0.003) scores. The post-hoc analysis showed that the Tae-Eum type ($18.71{\pm}8.75$, $6.47{\pm}3.36$, $6.31{\pm}2.47$, $10.94{\pm}10.08$) has significantly higher score than So-Eum type ($13.38{\pm}6.03$, $4.55{\pm}2.23$, $4.19{\pm}2.16$, $1.83{\pm}9.17$, respectively) in PA (p=0.018), PA-Joy (p=0.021), PA-Interest (p=0.017), and DPN (p=0.002) scores. The So-Eum type ($5.81{\pm}4.20$) showed significantly (p=0.047) higher score than the Tae-Eum type ($3.18{\pm}2.77$) in NA-Afraid. Results demonstrated distinct affect profile differences between Tae-Eum and So-Eum Sasang types using PANAS. This study may serve as the foundation in identifying psychological traits of Sasang types, especially regarding the aspect of affect.

  • The degree of mutual understanding between nursing students and instructors regarding simulation-based education remains unknown. The purpose of this study was to identify the subjectivity of nursing students and instructors about simulation-based learning, and was intended to expand the mutual understand by employing the co-orientation model. Q-methodology was used to identify the perspectives of 46 nursing students and 38 instructors. Perception types found among students in relation to simulation-based learning were developmental training seekers, instructor-dependent seekers, and learning achievement seekers. The instructors estimated the student perception types as passive and dependent, positive commitment, demanding role as facilitators, and psychological burden. Perception types found among instructors included nursing capacity enhancement seekers, self-reflection seekers, and reality seekers. The students classified the instructors' perception types as nursing competency seekers, learning reinforcement seekers, and debriefing-oriented seekers. As a result of the analysis of these relations in the co-orientation model, instructors identified psychological burden and passive and dependent cognitive frameworks among students; however, these were not reported in the students' perspectives. Likewise, the reality seekers type found among the perception types of instructors was not identified by the students. These findings can help develop and implement simulation-based curricula aimed at maximizing the learning effect of nursing students.

  • Despite the abundance of research on alcoholic-beverage consumption in the food and beverage marketing literature, research directly assessing and comparing consumers' psychological motives for drinking different types of alcoholic beverages is relatively limited. There is also a paucity of research comparing drink-type specific consumption motivations in an Asian market. Paying attention to some recent new changes in the alcoholic-beverages market of South Korea, this study investigated South Korean young adult female consumers' alcoholic-beverage type-specific drinking motives. A self-administered online survey of 340 young adult female drinkers about their alcohol-consumption patterns, alcoholic-drink preferences, involvement with alcohol, and four types of drinking motives (coping, social, conformity, and enhancement motives) revealed differences in: (1) the association between the consumer's alcohol involvement level, alcohol consumption frequency/amount, and preferences for alcoholic beverages across different types of alcoholic drinks; (2) the underlying psychological motives for drinking different types of alcoholic beverages; (3) the association between consumption contexts and alcoholic drink types; and (4) the consumption patterns and drinking motives across different consumer groups that are segmented in terms of their most preferred type of alcoholic beverages. These findings point to the importance of investigating drink-type-specific consumption motivations in alcoholic-beverage consumption research. Limitations and implications for future research are also discussed.

  • In this study, 1 dependent variable and 9 independent variables were established to examine suitable illuminance by spaces in urban parks in consideration of night users' psychological reactions and activity types. Such fixed variables were evaluated by a series of experiments of changing illuminance, and correlation among those variables was verified by correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis to suggest suitable illuminance by spaces. The results of this study are as follows: 1) The independent variables influencing suitable illuminance by spaces in urban parks were directly influenced rather by the psychological reaction of night users than the activity types by spatial functions. 2) Securing suitable illuminance by spaces commonly increased spatial availability, created certain atmosphere, and provided safety in the psychological reaction of night users. 3) Suitable illuminance by spaces in urban parks is: Central square is 31.88lx, resting space 6.30lx, exercising space 33.14lx, children's playground 14.19lx, pedestrian road 12.29lx, entry space 16.30lx, and green space 7.03lx. That is, when a place had more positive activities, spatial illuminance was increased. 4) Though comparison by spaces with the illuminance standard for urban parks as mentioned in KS A 3011-1993 can not be made, such illuminance was relatively compatible with the permissible range of illuminance in the author's opinion. It is expected that this study investigating suitable illuminance by spaces for night use in urban parks, will provide necessary knowledge for securing suitable illuminance by spaces in urban parks through classifyingin detail the illuminance standard of KS A 3011-1993. Besides, by helping make us aware of the importance of illuminance in urban parks as well as of external space in the night, this study will contribute to academic research and development in the field of landscape architecture and associated fields and be utilized in establishing legal and institutional standards.

  • The Purpose of this study is to understand phases and paradigms related to voluntary services offered by undergraduates and the processes in which voluntary services are implemented. For this, interviews for 23(men: 10, women: 13) undergraduates were conducted from Aug., 2008 to Apr., 2009 were conducted and the data collected from those interviews were analyzed on the basis of the Grounded Theory. Main analysis procedure is known as codings(open coding, axial coding, selective coding). This analyses produced 119 concepts, 41 subcategories, and 16 categories in open coding. Then, axial coding was conducted to organize the basic framework of generic relationships among psychological motivation, social context, personal perception, practical action, psychological response, and psychological consequence. Core essence is "Volunteer types are categorized simple practice type, self-serving type, and community type." Finally, undergraduate volunteers were explained in 3 types(simple practice, self-serving, and community) on the basis of paradigms. These results were discussed in terms of further research and limitation.
