This study was carried out in order to determine the essential structure and meaning of sexual harassment experienced by nurses, prepare a systematic mediation measure that could prevent sexual harassment. In this study, Giorgi's phenomenological research method and an in-depth interview were used, and data was collected from seven participants in general hospital nurses who had experienced sexual harassment from August 6, 2022 to March 25, 2023. The main question used in the in-depth interview was "What does sexual harassment mean to you?". The transcribed data was analyzed according to the method presented by Giorgi through the stages including reading of the data, breaking of the data into some kind of parts, organization and expression of the data from a disciplinary perspective and synthesis or summary of the data for purposes of communication to the scholarly community. As a result, 159 meaning units, 37 essential psychological meanings, 13 sub-constituents, 5 constituents were drawn. The five components include 'exposed to the front line of sexual harassment', 'struggling alone', 'feeling abandoned from the organization', 'finding a way to get through together' and 'feeling changing'. Based on the above results, it is expected to prevent sexual harassment of nurses and provide basic data useful for preparing systematic intervention measures for them and improving the system.
The purpose of this paper is to empirically grasp the influence on self-efficacy and depression and the relationship between variables, focusing on middle-aged women in their 40s and 50s who are psychologically and socially vulnerable. Through this, it was intended to explore the psychological problems of highly educated careerinterrupted women from a personal perspective and further derive implications for the development of policies and services for socially highly educated career-interrupted women. The relationship between variables was analyzed through a survey based on measurement tools structured by variables of Saju factors, self-efficacy, and depression, and the effect of the sub-dimensional characteristics of Saju structure on self-efficacy, and the resulting level of depression were verified through structural equation model analysis. Bigeop, Jaeseong, and Kwanseong have been found to have a positive and direct effect on self-efficacy and negative direct effect on depression, eventually increasing self-efficacy and lowering depression. It was found that Siksang had a positive (+) relationship with depression and a negative (-) relationship with self-efficacy, but Inseong did not directly affect self-efficacy and depression. In addition, the indirect effects between variables and the effects between self-efficacy and depression were identified.
This paper deals with fundamental questions how we should understand and approach the gambling addiction problems optimally. We attempted to define the nature of gambling behaviors first and to understand gambling addiction as an extreme class of behaviors on a behavioral continuum. This frame of reference would allow researchers to diagnose, classify, and evaluate gambling problems clearly, and to estimate prevalence rate and incidence rate more accurately from a perspective of behavioral sciences. Also, we emphasized to get out of a dichotomy in classifying gambling behaviors(i.e., either pathological or non-pathological). In addition, we introduced multi-agent and multi-level approaches to understanding gambling problems. With these approaches, each of the agents pertinent to the gambling problems can take its own responsibility and collaborate with other agents to solve the problems together. Also it is a proper time to develop a new scale overcoming the limitations of existing scales. So we presented several cautions in developing new scales for evaluating gambling problems. Lastly, in building a gambling policy, the estimation of prevalence and incidence rate is an important issue. So we suggested various ways for accurate estimation of prevalence and incidence rates reflecting the nature of gambling problems.

This study aims to identify research trends in adaptation of young children from multicultural families in order to provide insights for researchers around research topics and cultural adaptation orientation of young children from multicultural families. Subjects of this study were 41 literatures with key words of'young children from multicultural families', 'adaptation', and'life'through paper search system. This study was analysed the research themes, methods, subjects, and perspectives of cultural adaptation in adaptation researches of young children from multicultural families, 2006-2017 from peer reviewed journals with analysis frameworks. The results showed that : (a) the most common research topic continues to be about adaptation conditions of young children from multicultural families; (b) among research methods, quantitative research has most frequently used in, followed by qualitative methods, mixed methods, and literature review; (c) cultural adaptation was focused on the perspective of social-cultural adaptation, developmental importance of adaptation in early childhood and problems-based research. It implicated that further researches are need to focused on psychological adaptation and formation of classroom community beyond personal and structural adaptation in preschools.
Temperature and weather are all around us, quite literally. Furthermore, temperature and weather not only permeate our atmosphere, constantly affecting our visceral states of warmth and coldness, but they metaphorically permeate our language. People, products, and ideas can all be "hot" or "cold." Given this ubiquity, it is perhaps surprising that relatively little research has systematically examined the influence of temperature on choice and judgment. Temperature-related words such as "hot" and "cold" are often used to describe impulsive and calculated behaviors, respectively. These metaphoric connotations of thermal concepts raise the question as to whether temperature, psychological states and decision making are related to each other, and if so, how. The current research examines these questions and finds support for a relationship. Across one field study and one laboratory experiment, I demonstrate that both hot ambient room temperature (Spa) and hot temperature primes (words) trigger decision outcomes in line with the metaphoric association between hot temperature and impulsivity. In the field study, participants were recruited in hot (40-50 degrees Celsius) and cold (10 degrees Celsius) rooms at a spa. Participants were simply asked to indicate their willingness-to-pay (WTP) for three product categories (travel package, birthday dinner, and cell phone). The results showed that participants in the hot room in comparison to those in the cold room were willing to pay more for the same products. Next, I tested if our results would go beyond ambient temperature and would hold if I were to prime temperature concepts by using a different priming method (i.e., subliminal vs. supraliminal). In line with the previous findings in the spa, participants in the hot priming condition were more likely to choose the wrong answer for the bat and baseball question than those in the cold priming condition. In addition, product type (e.g., pleasure vs. necessity) can moderate the effect of hot temperature on impulsivity. Mood and arousal did not mediate participants' responses. My findings seem to suggest that the effects of temperature on decision outcomes can be attributed to metaphoric associations rather than incidental mood or arousal. The current research applies a novel perspective in understanding the relationship between temperature and judgment and decision making. Also, the results have practical implications for packaging, advertising, merchandising, and pricing of goods and services, as well as for public policy and awareness. One of the most natural implications of my findings would be that retailers would be better off carrying more impulse purchase items on hot days. Furthermore, point-of-purchase promotions encouraging impulse purchase is more likely to be effective in retail environments with higher temperature than with lower temperature. In addition, advertisements and product packages evoking hot temperature associations (e.g., beach, sunshine, summer) might lead consumers to pay higher price for the advertised product than those with cold temperature associations.

This study aimed to examine the influence of emotional information on task switching performance from a cross-cultural perspective. Specifically we investigated whether the impact of affective information differs between Koreans and Caucasian when they perform a switching task using pictures that express positive and negative emotions. In this study, Korean and Caucasian college students were presented with either positive or negative faces and asked to perform either an emotion or a gender judgment task based on the color of the picture frame. The results showed that the switching cost from the gender judgment task to the emotion task was significantly larger than the switching cost from the gender task to the emotion task for both Koreans and Caucasians. This asymmetric switching cost was maintained when the previous and current pictures showed the same emotion but disappeared when two images presented different emotions. Regardless of the participant's cultural background, switching costs were greater for emotional tasks where the emotion was directly related to the task than for gender tasks. However, the effect of emotional switching on switching costs varied by the individual's background. Koreans were less sensitive to whether poser's emotion was changed than Americans. These results demonstrate that emotional information affects cognitive task performance and suggest that the effects of emotion may differ depending on the individual's cultural background.
The present study examined the overall receptivity of community members to migrant wives in Korea. A total of 23 community members from two regions, Ansan, an urban area and Youngam, a rural area, were selected for the interview based on their prior experience with migrant wives. Data were collected via a semi-structured interview method. The participants provided their personal feelings and thoughts on a variety of issues involving migrant wives, such as how they perceive migrant wives' original culture and lifestyles, the nature of their interaction experience with migrant wives, their overall evaluation of migrant wives, their opinions about migrant wives' cultural adaptation, and their opinions about the on-going transformation of the Korean society into a multi-racial, multi-cultural society. Interview results indicated that, although the participants' attitude toward migrant wives was positive, the overall receptivity to migrant wives was largely based on the traditional sex-role stereotypes typically found in the Korean society. Moreover, the vast majority of the participants endorsed a narrow-minded, uni-directional perspective on cultural adaptation which puts far greater emphasis on migrant wives' assimilation into the host culture than reciprocal influence process between the two cultures. Implications of the study and directions for future research were discussed.
This study examined how the explicit and implicit race attitudes differ according to age and gender from the developmental perspective in Korean elementary students. The study also investigated the efficacy of a multi-cultural education program on explicit and implicit attitude change in elementary school students. This thesis consists of two parts. In Study 1, elementary school students(first grade:117, fourth grade:117) completed Explicit Attitudes Rating Scales, Explicit Preference Test, and Child Implicit Association Tests (Korean-White/Korean-Black/ Korean-Southeast Asian IATs). The effects of age and gender on explicit and implicit attitudes toward Korean/White/Black/Southeast Asian were examined with two-way MANOVA. The results demonstrated that as age increases, in-group preference/out-group bias decrease on the explicit level. In contrast, on the implicit level, as age increases, in-group preference/out-group bias do not decrease. Rather, prejudiced attitudes toward blacks increase. Study 2 was performed to investigate the effect of a multi-cultural education program on explicit and implicit attitude change toward races in elementary school students. The program conveying an anti-bias message consists of three sessions, and the procedures are as follows; watching video clips, confirming contents and short discussion. Two classes in the program and two classes in comparative groups on the first and fourth grade of elementary school were assessed. The results showed that black preference significantly increased both in the first and the fourth grade elementary students on the explicit attitude level, but not on the implicit level. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings were discussed.
Most previous research on safer sex and condom use has been mainly focused on individual's dispositional factors such as attitudes, perceived control, intention, and etc. However, a few researchers recently started to propose that condom use is not a matter of individual behavioral decision but a product of serious interactive negotiation processes and condom negotiation would be the proximal key-determinant of condom use behaviors. The present research categorized condom-negotiation strategies and preferences of Korean college students and examined relationship between the strategies and other sex-related concepts. 186 participants' strategies on a free-response questions of condom negotiation revealed 7 types of persuasion strategies for condom use; Pregnancy risk, responsibility, care for partner, withholding sex, sexual disease, direct request, and sexual satisfaction (in order of preference). 6 types of persuasion strategies for condom avoid were abstracted: Pregnancy free, Sexual satisfaction, responsibility, direct request, unfaith toward condom, and withholding sex (in order of preference). This study examined the meaning of main visions in the Book of Revelation from the perspective of analytical psychology. The core contents of these visions are 1) the image of Christ represented as One like the Son of Man and Apocalyptic lamb, 2) Sun and Moon Woman and Dragon, 3) Whore Babylon and Bride New Jerusalem, 4) Hieros Gamos and Descending New Jerusalem. Such archetypal images lead to become conscious of an individual, and at the same time the visions of Revelation as a drama of archetype present the transion of civilization, as ultimately penetrating the history of the time period. This article contemplated on the characteristics of the archetypal image emerging in the visions and categorized them into the father archetype, mother archetype, or anima archetype. The ultimate purpose of all the visions can be understood as the ascent, conjunction and descent. This will mean to become conscious of human and incarnation of God, i.e. the individuation process. In our time suffering from masculine one-sidedness, the vision of new Jerusalem presents how the feminine can redeem an individual and this world.
