  • Generally speaking, because of complexity of engineering process, the systems engineering may be not easy to understand clearly and not easy to perform also. The status of systems engineering infrastructure of the some Korean industry is not matured yet, i.e., the systems engineering process, method, tool and environment is not implemented consistently within the steel making industry. These difficulties are more severe at the concept and basic design phase than the detail design phase relatively. Korean industry has lots of development project for the precedented systems and usually has matured domain knowledge for the precedented systems. Even though there is a mature domain knowledge of the precedented systems, the development project will lead to failure under the condition of engineering system is not well equipped. For the project success, it is very important to have a proper engineering execution system especially for the concept design and basic phase, which has a high abstraction and a large influence on the whole project. This paper proposes a minimized design process that can be easily applied to the concept and basic design phase of the precedented systems, instead of complex system engineering processes. This paper also proposes the application case of the minimized design process and methods for a Blast Furnace System.

6시그마 기법을 통한 안정된 맥파측정 프로세스 설계 (A Case Study of Six Sigma Project for Improving method of measuring pulse wave)

  • Pulse is one of the basic diagnostic information of TKM(Traditional Korean Medicine). To quantify and standardize pulse diagnosis, we had collected an amount of clinical data from May 2005 by using newly developed pulse analyzer. But there were many noises in pulse wave according to measuring method, environment, operator and condition of patient. So some data can’t be included for analyzing diagnosis. To reduce noises from measuring pulse and to collect reliable pulse wave data, we made the process map of measuring method and applied six sigma project. With this we can improved the method of measuring pulse wave in collecting clinical data. The project follows a disciplined process of five macro phases: define, measure, analyze, improve and control (DMAIC). A process map and C-E diagram are used to identify process input and output variables. The major input variables are selected by using C&E matrix, and process map is developed by analyzing input variables. And the optimum process conditions are going to be controled to avoid in increasing loss of collecting pulse wave data.

A Construction Supply Chain Management Process with RFID/WSN-based Logistics Equipment

  • Construction supply chain management (CSCM) has become one of the critical factors that determine the success of a construction project as it becomes increasingly complicated and mega-sized. Particularly for high-rise or mega-sized building construction, just-in-time supply chain management is required due to lack of storage space and effective logistics for construction components and materials at a construction site. Despite the fact that research and development of radio frequency identification (RFID) and wireless sensor network (WSN) technology have been performed, construction project managers still need to carry mobile devices and check material and component flow at each stage of the supply chain process. This research proposes that the equipment used in the construction supply chain process, such as movers, trailers, gates, and hoists, can become main actors in the supply chain process using RFID and WSN technologies. And the proposed equipment and process focused on a solution to the redundancy identification problem, which has been observed in operations that use RFID/WSN-based processes for construction logistics. This paper also presents issues identified through verification and validation of the research results and proposes further studies.

  • 프로젝트의 성공적 수행을 위해 단계별 체계적 관리를 제공하는 사업관리정보시스템은 필수적이다. 그러나, 기존 관리시스템은 사업을 통한 공모과제들의 접수, 선정, 수행관리 등에만 초점이 맞춰져 있었으며, 사업 자체에 대한 관리는 전무한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 공모과제의 관리뿐만 아니라, 시행사업에 대한 총괄관리가 가능한 하향식 전주기적 사업관리의 시스템화를 통해 연구성과를 체계적으로 관리함으로써 사업관리 업무의 효율성을 제고할 수 있는 방안에 대해 기술한다. 또한, 사용자의 특성에 맞는 차별화된 정보를 제공할 수 있는 사업관리정보시스템 구축을 통해 고객 맞춤형 서비스를 제공하는 환경에 대해 기술한다. 이러한 사업관리정보시스템을 활용함으로써 표준화된 체계적 사업관리를 가능하게 하고, 시스템간 연계를 통한 즉각적인 후속 업무 진행으로 업무 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있음을 적용 사례를 통해 확인한다.

  • 최근 PF사업은 급격한 성장 속에서 개발환경의 변화가 다양하게 나타나고 있다. 이러한 건설시장의 성장과 개발환경 변화에 따라 PF사업 관련기업들은 성공할 수 있는 사업을 찾기 위해 많은 노력을 하고 있으며 PF사업 초기단계부터 성공여부의 판단근거를 마련하기 위해 다양한 연구를 수행하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 PF사업을 구상하고 개발하는 일련의 과정에 있어서 PF사업의 성공요인을 찾아보고, 전문가조사를 통해 주요성공요인을 찾았다. 또한, PF사업 종사자들에게 실증조사를 실시하여 성공요인을 도출하고 도출된 요인들의 상대적 중요도를 파악하기 위해 계층적 분석방법인 AHP를 실시하여 정성적인 부분을 정량적 접근이 가능하도록 이론적 근거를 마련하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 PF사업 성공요인을 도출하고 계층적 분석방법인 AHP기법을 활용하여 PF사업 성공요인의 상대적 중요도를 제시하고자 한다. 정성적인 주관적 요소를 객관화하여 각 요인에서 나타나는 적용상의 한계를 해결함으로서 성공적인 PF사업을 수행하려는 기업이나 관련종사자에게 객관적이고 공정하게 적용해볼 수 있는 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

Progressive Design-Build: Its Functions as a Contracting Method and the Four Pillars of Project Success

  • As a project delivery method, Design-Build (DB) has provided owner, architect, and contractor groups with a process of early design and rapid construction for the past three decades. Although there are many benefits to using standard DB, dissatisfaction has arisen due to limitations to innovate, limited owner involvement during design, and often lengthy procurement. Progressive Design-Build (PDB) has become an appealing alternative providing benefits not seen with standard DB. This paper investigates how PDB impacts a project and how it compares against standard DB; it also presents a proposed framework for evaluating the owner's responsibility and assessment of a project, which we named the "Four Pillars of Project Success". The four pillars are defined with respect to an owner's responsibility and assessment of a project, including project predictability, project risk, project schedule, and project cost. We conducted a literature review, examined several public project case studies, analyzed PDB project information collected by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), and held stakeholder interviews with owners, contractors, and architects who have used both PDB and standard DB. This paper offers insight into PDB's structure and outcomes so an owner group can make an informed decision when considering PDB as their next construction contracting method.

  • 최근 국내 건설업계는 건설경기 침체, 해외건설 수주부진, 치 열한 경쟁 등 어려운 상황에 직면한 실정인데 이에 본 연구에서는 효과적인 리스크관리 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 효과적인 리스크관리와 성공적인 사업관리를 수행하기 위하여 국내 상위 건설회사를 모집단으로 한 설문조사를 실시하여 건설관리에 의한 리스크인자와 리스크관리에 의한 리스크인자를 검정하여 리스크인자를 분석하고 미리 예측하여 원인을 분석하여 대응$\cdot$제어하면 리스크인자를 경감하게 되어 공사비, 공기, 품질을 향상시켜 양질의 건설공사를 수행 할 수 있게 하는 방안을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다.

자동차 부품 제조업체의 조립라인 개선을 위한 6시그마 프로젝트 사례 연구 (A Case Study of a Six Sigma Project for Improving Assembly Line of Auto-Part Manufacturing Company)

  • Since the six sigma strategy was first introduced to Motorola in 1987, it has been taken as an important business strategy to strengthen the competitiveness of leading companies in the global competitiveness environm ent. This paper presents a six sigma project to reduce the cycle time of assembly line in a medium size automotive part company. The project follows a structured methodology of DMAIC cycle which consists of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. A CTQ is determined based on COPQ analysis, and a process map is utilized for identifying process input variables. As a result of the project, two assembly lines are converted to cell line production lines. The cycle times become 55 sec./unit and 64 sec./unit from 64 sec./unit and 83 sec./unit at the beginning of the project, respectively.

  • Nowadays, the construction industry utilizes 3D models in the designing process, on which research is being conducted to establish an automated system for project cost estimation in connection with information related to construction such as material unit costs and wages, beyond the level of design interference review and construction quantity estimation. In this process, the project cost is estimated in connection with unit price data after takeoff the quantity based on the 3D model attributes and data types. A way to reduce cost and risk would be first developing prototypes of some of essential buildings and works, comparing and validating the outcomes, and then extending to the whole scope, because estimates differ on the basis of the scope and level of 3D design models as well as the data accuracy. This study analyzes case studies of project cost estimation by computing the quantity on the basis of 3D model in the construction industry and explores methodologies and management measures applicable for estimating nuclear power plant construction project costs.

  • 국내에서 BIM의 실무 활용은 건축공사 중심으로 적용되고 있다. 건축공사의 부위별 객체 특성이 정형적, 수직적, 반복적인 형태를 갖는 반면에 토목공사의 객체 특성은 비정형적, 수평적, 비반복적인 형태를 갖으므로 3D객체 구성이 어렵기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 토목공사의 기획단계부터 설계단계까지의 업무 및 정보관리의 문제점을 파악한 후 BIM기반에서의 적용 프로세스를 제안하며, 제시한 프로세스를 기반으로 BIM시스템을 구축하여 교량공사를 대상으로 실무 적용성을 검토한다.
