  • This paper was built for an activation of a merged education and development of non-subject, new type creative merged education program having effectivities. This program is disciplined a kind of flipped learning and camp program of 2 nights and 3 days. Given a problem which big enough and open-ended problem, multidisciplinary team that composed with engineering and design major students works the capstone design project. For ordinary engineering design process, 'how can we make?' was important. But in this program 'what can we make?' is more serious question. Our program was pursuing an creative idea that can induce innovation. Teaching or interference of professors was minimized and then students solve the problem theirselves by long time and liberal brainstorming. Last products is not real goods and only a proposal for manufacturing. Finally, the results are presented using ppt and board. After not only professors but also students of other teams can ask a question, resolve and comment on that proposal. The benefits of this program are that inner members of university take a whole process from planning and working to last evaluation. Besides economic benefit, they can secure an infrastructure for development of creative merged education program by running for several times and so can improve the program continuously. For an aspect of students, they can respond to recently highlighted creative experiences that required for recruitment.

  • The internal and external outputs of the agricultural sub-systems of mixed livestock-crop farms in Pabna Bangladesh were analysed, to clarify the multiple functions of cattle in farm systems. Production systems with grazing areas were relatively more productive than those with no grazing. There was a tremendous variation in farm income, largely because of land area. An increase of one ha in land area was estimated to boost farm income by about 50%. Number of cattle, cattle off-take percentage and milk off-take per average cow related positively to farm income. As land area decreased the relative importance of cattle production increased. Crops were dominant in producing food for home consumption. Cattle contributed only 5-6 per cent to home consumption. Cattle supplied a significant cash income: 45 per cent in the villages with grazing areas and 57 per cent in the other villages. In future, the cash output from cattle will decline and emphasis will shift to the role of cattle in supporting crop production. Any research or development strategy for livestock needs to focus first on the importance of the complex relation between livestock and crops.

  • Renewable energy sources has drawn considerable attention as clean energy sources because of changing public attitudes regarding greenhouse gas and fine dust. Recently, in this respect, the government provides the drivers of electric vehicles with various benefits such as tax reduction, financial incentives and free parking from the public to the private sector. Plug-in electric vehicles are the most common in the private sector. Otherwise, different types of battery-based buses in the public sector are being developed, and there are three main types of charging: plug-in, battery swapping and wireless. Therefore, economic assessment of charging types in each bus route is required in order to facilitate the use of battery-based buses instead of the existing CNG buses. In this paper, net present value(NPV) and B/C ratio of charging types are evaluated in consideration of the bus schedule, the cost of charging station, and the life cycle of battery, etc. per each bus route. In case study, main bus routes in Daegu City are simulated with the proposed evaluation method to validate the eco-bus project.

  • Recently, interests in IT Service Management(ITSM) are increasing internationally as well as domestically. In order to realize the benefits from ITSM, it is necessary to institutionalize it as a culture of the organization through effective change management. One of the most promising approach of effective change management is the change management framework of ITSM. In this study, we analyze a success case in which the change management framework of ITSM was applied to IT Service company which has introduced ITSM. Through the analyses, this study aims to propose a feasible and specific approach to institutionalize ITSM. To accomplish the objective, the study is designed to analyze specific methods for applying ITSM's change management framework to ITSM organizations, performance of projects and future directions based on interviews and review of project documents/deliverables. This study could not provide detailed performance measures due to lack of previous research on this topic and difficulty of obtaining quantitative data. However, this study has contributed to proposing a direction to institutionalize ITSM in organizations by analyzing a feasibility of ITSM's change management framework in implementing ITSM.

  • Cost and schedule are the major concerns for the successful construction project management. The four dimensional CAD (4D CAD) integrating graphical data and scheduling data has also been an area of research interests for improving construction controls. In order to achieve the benefits from these areas in an integrated way, this study proposes a 4D-EVMS system for the owners. Managerial requirements for cost and schedule control for the owners are identified first. A 4D-EVMS model is then proposed which provides functional flexibility in order to enhance the efficiency of the system. Lessons learned and practical implications are briefly summarize.

  • As developers and testers today we all suffer from increasing project complexity, the risks of late defect discovery, repetitive manual processes, and the risk of release delays. In this paper, we introduce an effective framework for automated testing to help solve such problems. Those that are new to testing do not need to delve into complex automation tools or test scripts. This framework helps automate the distribution, execution and results analysis of test cases. It also aids communication among the various stakeholders, using tables for representing tests and for reporting the results of automatically checking those tests. This paper describes the practices and benefits of using the proposed framework.

  • We are living in epoch of information when Internet touches all aspects of our lives. Therefore, it provides a plenty of services each of which benefits people in different ways. Electronic Mail (E-mail), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Voice/Video Communication, Search Engines are bright examples of Internet services. Between them Social Network Services (SNS) continuously gain its popularity over the past years. Most popular SNSs like Facebook, Weibo and Twitter generate millions of data every minute. Twitter is one of SNS which allows its users post short instant messages. They, 100 million, posted 340 million tweets per day (2012)[1]. Often big amount of data contains lots of noisy data which can be defined as uninteresting and unclassifiable data. However, researchers can take advantage of such huge information in order to analyze and extract meaningful and interesting features. The way to collect SNS data as well as tweets is handled by crawlers. Twitter crawler has recently emerged as a great tool to crawl Twitter data as well as tweets. In this project, we develop Twitter Crawler system which enables us to extract Twitter data. We implemented our system in Java language along with MySQL. We use Twitter4J which is a java library for communicating with Twitter API. The application, first, connects to Twitter API, then retrieves tweets, and stores them into database. We also develop crawling strategies to efficiently extract tweets in terms of time and amount.

  • Nuclear power plant site selection is a complex process and its successful completion is a critical milestone in the NPP development cycle. Proper siting of NPP will ensure public health and safety, environmental conservation, reduced project failure risks and a smooth NPP development process among other benefits. The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the application of systems engineering to the problem of NPP siting in Kenya. The siting process demonstrated in this paper includes stakeholder need analysis where stakeholders are identified and their needs concerning NPP site are elicited and converted into system functional requirements. A value model is then developed and potential sites iteratively subjected to three types of criteria i.e. exclusionary criteria, avoidance criteria and suitability criteria. This process is used to identify the candidate sites. An additive value model; multiple objectives Decision Analysis (MODA) is then used to calculate candidate solutions values. The site with the highest solution value score is selected. Sensitivity studies using different criterion weight sets (thereby reflecting different viewpoints) can be conducted to assess their effect on the selection of a preferred site and thereby lend additional credibility to the decision process.
