A Methodology for Defining the Study Impact Area Using Mode Diversion Trip Rate in Rail Infrastructure Feasibility Study (철도사업에서의 수단전환통행비율을 고려한 분석영향권 설정방법론의 개발)

  • The current Korean preliminary feasibility study guidebook provides a simple method for determining the impact area of a transportation project without taking its characteristics into account, which often leads travelers to switch their travel modes. Hence, this study develops a comprehensive methodology for defining the impact area when evaluating railroad projects, which can significantly affect travel mode choice behaviors. To develop the methodology, a hypothetical project was devised. The analysis results show that the convergence of mode-diverted trip rates is improved from 76% to 93% by implementing the proposed method. In addition, there was a significant difference in benefits (about 10.9 billion won) between adopting the current method and the proposed method.

  • A forest project for the sequestration of carbon dioxide helps to reduce the concerntration of greenhouse gas in atmosphere and provides various co-benefits. A lot of forestry-based carbon offset programs have been developing for the purpose of CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility), voluntary GHG emission reduction, and regulatory context etc. in worldwide. We studied major characteristics - project type and criteria, additionality, credits, permanence, carbon accounting and monitoring, co-benefit - of advanced forest carbon offset programs. Also, we tried to comprehend the direction and basic elements to design a domestic program.

  • As the Nagoya Protocol has been in effect since 2014, firms that invest in projects related with the genetic resources should establish methods to share the benefits arising from using genetic resources with the country providing such resources. The objective of this paper is to investigate the factors that affect the genetic resources related investment decisions under the Nagoya Protocol. Specifically, we construct the model of Sharpley value and benefit sharing rate in order to consider the results of benefit sharing with a providing country under the Real Options, and simulate the model in the context of Madagascar Banana project. The results show that the product time to market, benefit sharing rate, and discount rate significantly influence the investment decisions.

  • Optimizing truck dispatching-intervals is imperative in ready mixed concrete (RMC) delivery process. Intervals shorter than optimal may induce queuing of idle trucks at a construction site, resulting in a long delivery cycle time. On the other hand, intervals longer than optimal can trigger work discontinuity due to a lack of available trucks where required. Therefore, the RMC delivery process should be systematically scheduled in order to minimize the occurrence of waiting trucks as well as guarantee work continuity. However, it is challenging to find optimal intervals, particularly in urban areas, due to variations in both traffic conditions and concrete placement rates at the site. Truck dispatching intervals are usually determined based on the concrete plant managers' intuitive judgments, without sufficient and reliable information regarding traffic and site conditions. Accordingly, the RMC delivery process often experiences inefficiency and/or work discontinuity. Automatic data collection (ADC) techniques (e.g., RFID or GPS) can be effective tools to assist plant managers in finding optimal dispatching intervals, thereby enhancing delivery performance. However, quantitative evidence of the extent of performance improvement has rarely been reported to data, and this is a central reason for a general reluctance within the industry to embrace these techniques, despite their potential benefits. To address this issue, this research reports on the development of a discrete event simulation model and its application to a large-scale building project in Abu Dhabi. The simulation results indicate that ADC techniques can reduce the truck idle time at site by 57% and also enhance the pouring continuity in the RMC delivery process.

Data mining approach for identifying factors impacting construction accident costs: from indirect expenses perspectives

  • Construction projects account for a significant proportion of workplace hazards globally. While construction cost reports typically emphasize direct accident costs such as treatment expenses, nursing care costs, or disability benefits, indirect factors like work interruption loss costs or consolation costs are frequently overlooked, because it is relatively difficult to estimate those factors in advance. Recognizing and accurately estimating the indirect costs factors associated with construction accidents would not only shed light on the monetary impact these incidents have on overall project costs but also would enable to estimate the total accident cost in advance. The current study seeks to identify factors influencing indirect costs, which ultimately govern the total accident cost, through a data mining approach. A survey was conducted in domestic construction companies, resulting in a dataset of 1038 accident records collected from construction sites. First, statistical analysis was performed to uncover characteristics and patterns of factors affecting construction accident costs from both direct and indirect perspectives. Later, this study proposes four distinct machine learning (ML) models, comparing their performances in predicting the total accident cost (including indirect costs) in advance. Additionally, this research sheds light on an important issue in construction data analysis, which is the scarcity of data in a particular class, by applying random oversampling and random undersampling techniques. The suggested framework can assist practitioners and management in estimating construction accident costs and identifying the relevant attributes that impact accidents at the construction site for future practices.

  • This study utilizes the meta-analysis for the benefits transfer (MA-BT) approach to measure social costs the 7 target sites in the City and County of Honolulu. The estimated MA models (MA-1 and MA-1) were evaluated in terms of validity and reliability criteria. This study utilized a parametric t-test and a non-parametric sign rank test for checking validity. A transfer error measured by an absolute percentage difference was utilized to check reliability their similarity. The GIS was utilized for data collection in order to measure social costs for each target site. The results clearly demonstrated that social costs were substantially higher thant direct costs and varied market conditions and different methods used. In terms of validity and reliability criteria, MA models were preferred to the mean transfer value approach. MA-BT approach is desirable for measuring social costs for a project designed to measure social costs for these 7 proposed landfill sites with inaccessible data, on short time frames, and with little money. If researchers and planners have enough time and money, they can implement primary research. If not, the meta-analysis for the benefits transfer approach can be much better than no framework. The use of a GIS can help to identify secondary data within a specific radius of each target site.

It is need for new various characters, that (3D,4D-VFX) -Graphics of new an-sung'namsadang' group. that will be total different and new development. total VFX; 4-Dimantion visual graphics released in next an-sung local festival, Business prospects are bright and receiving benefits are increasing. As seen in the case of the character of in 2015, it can be a measure to earn benefits as a higher value-added business if it is managed in the local autonomous entities. In this thesis, I propose what the of character in the local special graphics; VFX style characters design. also I was show up to '4D contents character;' ; 'namsadang' group; creative processing including planing. It is possible to be ranged from special 4D series animation, a feature-length special effct cartoon film, character products, and even local doom Theme parks show up film. which are all expected high profits.   • Recently, as there are a rise in the standard of living and higher concerns of an electromagnetic wave and environment, undergrounding the aerial cables which are supported by large pylons and generally considered as the least attractive feature of an urban area is on an increasing trend to improve aesthetic benefits and electric reliability. This study applied Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) which is expected to become an effective tool to measure indirect benefit to estimate the substantial benefits of undergrounding overhead power line projects in an urban area. The tunneling construction project of the 345kV Shinsungnam electric power cable in Seongnam city was selected and a hypothetical scenario was given to respondents to determine their levels of Willingness to Pay (WTP) for undergrounding overhead power lines. The result from the estimation of the WTP of undergrounding overhead power lines in Seongnam city was calculated as approximately 17.1 billion won. Placing existing overhead lines underground is difficult to justify economically. Most undergrounding costs appear to be justified by aesthetic and public policy considerations. Therefore, considering the result of this study, undergrounding overhead power lines is of great benefit to public.

  • Since 'The Act on Private Investment of The Infrastructure' was established in 1994, private investment as well as government's investment has been active on transport infrastructure. But investment of transport infrastructure has more risks than others due to overforecast of transport demand for ensuring project validity, and cost uncertainty arising from financial crisis, commodity prices and so on. In the case of Incheon international airport express, after 2 years and 6 months, Incheon international airport express is opened, Korail take over equity stake in private investor due to the problems of MRG(Minimum Revenue Guarantee) be contracted with private investor. Not only that, in other case of Yong-in light rail, it is ongoing for legal disputes between Yong-in local government and private investor on account of opening delaying. On current Investment Assessment System of Transport Infrastructure, Risk Management system on investment of transport infrastructure is inadequate because Sensitivity Analysis in economic efficiency have been performed on the simple method which only changes benefits, expense and social discount rate. For this reason, this study analyze risks for investment of transport infrastructure demand forecast, and rise to the management practice for every particular item.

Selection of each goal, because the direction of vision and ITS around the railroad center of road users by highlighting the benefits of the railroad's traffic information center user switching, real-time delivery of information diversity (enhanced content) that can increase the capacity of line train operating systems, enhancing the safety management system introduced in the monitoring system and is a railroad crossing. Because urban railway project in accordance with the goal of decreasing the annual rate of the train support, and the average passenger wait time savings, increased future demand for railway, rail safety, including securing the expected effects may occur.
