  • Programmable Metallization Cell (PMC) is a memory device based on the electrolytical characteristic of chalcogenide materials. In this study, we investigate the nature of thin films formed by photo doping of Cu ions into chalcogenide materials for use in solid electrolyte of programmable metallization cell devices. We were able to do more economical approach by using copper which play an electrolyte ions role. The results imply that a Cu-rich phase separates owing to the reaction of Cu with free atoms from chalcogenide materials.

  • This paper proposes a programmable low pass filter(LPF) to estimate stator flux for speed sensorless stator flux orientation control of induction motors. The programmable LPF is developed to solve the dc drift problem associated with a pure integrator and a LPF with fixed pole. The pole of the programmable LPF is located far from the origin to decrease the time constant as speed increases. The programmable LPF has the phase and the magnitude compensator to exactly estimate stator flux in a wide speed range. So, the drift problem is much improved and the stator flux is exactly estimated in the wide speed range.

  • The novel integration method with programmable high-pass filter is suggested in order to solve the problem of integration for stator flux estimation in a stator flux oriented direct vector controlled induction motor drive system. The dc offset in a pure integrator is eliminated using high-pass filter with fixed time constant, and then time constant of programmable high-pass filter is controlled with a inverter frequency for integration in a wide frequency range, considering phase lag and attenuation due to both the hardware low-pass filter and high-pass filter. The proposed method is verified with the experimental results implemented by 32-bit DSP.

  • In this paper, an agile programmable chirp spread spectrum generator for wideband frequency-jamming applications from 20 MHz to 3 GHz is proposed. A frequency-mixing architecture using two voltage-controlled oscillators is used to achieve a wideband operating frequency range, and the direct digital synthesizer (DDS)-based chirping method with a two-point modulation technique is employed to provide a programmable and consistent chirp bandwidth. The proposed signal generator provides the various programmable FM signals from 20 MHz to 3 GHz with a modulation bandwidth from 0 to 400 MHz. The prototype successfully demonstrates arbitrary sequential jamming operation with a fast band-to-band hopping time of < 10 ${\mu}sec$.

  • Photodiffusion of silver into chalcogenide thin film is one of the most interesting effects that occurs in chalcogenide glass as it theatrically changes the properties of the initial material and forms a ternary. Programmable Metallization Cell(PMC) Randon Access Memory use for photodiffusion of mobile metal is based on the electrochemical growth and removal of nanoscale metallic pathway in thin film of solid electrolyte. This paper investigates the annling properties on Ag-doped $Ge_{25}Se_{75}$ thin film structure and describes the electrical characteristics of PMC-RAM. The composition of the intercalation products containing Ag is confirmed using X-ray diffraction which shows the formation of Ag-doped $Ge_{25}Se_{75}$.

  • 현재 인터넷은 하드웨어 종속적인 특징을 가지고 있어 급변하는 환경에 적응하기 힘들다. 이러한 제약사항은 관련 산업 발전을 더디게 하고 있다. 이와 같은 네트워크 환경에서 산업 발전을 위하여 네트워크 인프라에 유연성을 제공할 수 있는 기술의 개발이 필요하다. 그러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 오픈프로토콜인 OpenFlow의 Programmable Network의 특성을 이용하여 네트워크 가상화를 구현하였으며, 응용 서비스별 Virtual Network를 제공하는 방안에 대해 연구하였다. 이를 위하여 OpenFlow 기반의 Programmable Network를 구축하였으며, 동적으로 구성이 가능한 네트워크에서 가상화를 제공하기 위해 VNAPI를 개발하였다. 또한, VNAPI를 통하여 신뢰성 있고 효율적인 응용 서비스의 전달을 위하여 Virtual Network Topology에 대한 설계를 같이 수행하였다.

  • Interpolated second order polynomials(ISOP's) are proposed to design efficient cascaded integrator-comb(CIC)-based decimation filters for a programmable downconverter. It is shown that some simple ISOP's can effectively reduce the passband droop caused by CIC filtering with little degradation in aliasing attenuation. In addition, ISOP's are shown to be useful for simplifying halfband filters that usually follow CIC filtering. As a result, a modified half band filter(MHBF) is introduced which is simpler than conventional halfband filters. The proposed decimation filter for a programmable downconverter is a cascade of a CIC filter, an ISOP, MHBF's and a programmable finite impulse response(FIR) filter. A procedure for designing the decimation filter is developed. In particular, an optimization technique that simultaneously designs the decimation filter is developed. In particular, an optimization technique that simultaneously designs the ISOP and programmable FIR filters is presented. Design examples demonstrate that the proposed method leads to more efficient programmable downconverters than existing ones.

  • We popose a programmed on-line to FSM-based Programmable BIST(Buit-In Self-Test) with selected command, to select a test algorithm from a predetermined set of algorithms that are built in the Flash memory BIST. Thus, the proposed scheme greatly simplifies the testing process. Besides, the proposed FSM-based Programmable BIST is more efficient in terms of circuit size and test data to be applied, and it requires less time to configure the Flash memory BIST. We also will develop a programmable Flash memory BIST generator that automatically produces Verilog code of the proposed BIST architecture for a given set of test algorithms. If experiment the proposed method, the proposed method will achieves a good flexibility with smaller circuit size compared with previous methods.

  • Mobile communication is one of the fastest growing industries in the world and especially in Korea, where we have well over 30 million voice subscribers. Mobile communication now offers variety of data communication services such as wireless internet, multimedia messages, and color graphic displays. Handsets also have grown to accommodate such services, thus with functionalities such as programmable virtual machines that users can download and execute their own programs. In this paper, we have demonstrated a PCS handset monitoring system which can monitor biometry signals - in this case ECG over wireless internet and wireless data network (IS95C) based on programmable virtual machine architecture. The remote client handset receives data signals from a centralized server and processes and displays them in human friendly form in real time. Since every single handset on sales in Korea has programmable virtual machine and more than 10 million handsets are in distribution already, proper applications may have substantial impact on the related fields.
