  • The ability to rapidly create and deploy new and novel services in response to market demands will be the key factor in determining the success of the future service provider. This goal may be approached from different directions. One of them is an open interface making the functionalities of a network element programmable and usable by outside entities. In this paper, we describe several aspects of this new, hot technical area and introduce related standard activities. In addition, we present a new switching system called MSMP (Multi-Service Multi-Plug-In), which is based on the open programmable interface concept, and describe its architecture and main functionalities of its components.

  • A multiloop programmable controller using graphic control language and a configuration graphic editor for designing control algorithm in graphic windows are developed. Using the graphic control language, large and complex control algorithm can be designed easily and the modification of control algorithm is simple. The proposed controller using graphic language can be effectively used for complex plants like power plants.

  • This paper presents a desing of a PWM programmable controller for industrial robot to be utilized in process which reqires various movements and repeating operations. To be specific, a low-level robot language is constructed which makes easy for the user to program complex robot motion, and an interpreter is developed to execute the program. Also, related hardware and software, and monitor program for convenience of user are implemented. When the proposed controller is applied to the catresian coordinate 4-axis manipulator, it reveals that the error probabilities of X,Y and Z axis as 0.033%, 0.023%,0.028% respectively.

  • Programmable Metallization Cell (PMC) is a ReRAM device based on the electrolytical characteristic of chalcogenide materials. In this study, we investigated the nature of thin films formed by photo doping of Ag+ ions into chalcogenide materials for use in solid electrolyte of programmable metallization cell devices. We were able to do more economical approach by using Ag+ ions which play an electrolyte ions role. The results imply that a Ag-rich phase separates owing to the reaction of Ag with free atoms from chalcogenide materials.

  • This paper proposes a translation method that converts ladder diagrams to binary executable codes for PLC (programmable logic controller)s. A PLC based on general purpose DSP(digital signal processor) validates the method. We performed a benchmark on the system that compares the execution time of the interpretation method and ours. Experimenal result shows how fast this method executes programs that consist of codes generated.

  • The fuzzifier circuit DPFC 7 is presented. Its features are: programmable membership function, CMOS digital interface, analog and current mode internal processing and integrability without external components. It has been designed to obtain a basic efficient block for fuzzy processing, to be included in a future architecture.

  • This paper presents a programmable System-On-a-chip (SoC) for various embedded smart applications that need Neural Network computations. The system is fully implemented into a prototyping platform based on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The SoC consists of an embedded processor core and a reconfigurable hardware accelerator for neural computations. The performance of the SoC is evaluated using a real image processing application, an optical character recognition (OCR) system.

  • 본 논문에서는 프로그램 가능한 셀룰라 오토마타(Programmable Cellular Automata, PCA)를 이용한 곱셈기를 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 구조는 연산 후 늘어나는 원소의 수를 제한하기 위하여 이용되는 기약다항식(irreducible polynomial)으로서 All One Polynomial(AOP)을 사용하며, 주기적 경계 셀룰라 오토마타(Periodic Boundary Cellular Automata, PBCA)의 구조적인 특성을 사용함으로써 정규성을 높이고 하드웨어 복잡도와 시간 복잡도를 줄일 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 제안된 곱셈기는 시간적. 공간적인 면에서 아주 간단히 구성되어 지수연산을 위한 하드웨어 설계나 오류 수정 코드(error correcting code)의 연산에 효율적으로 이용될 수 있을 것이다.
