In this paper, a process model for assessing, evaluating and improving a program outcome on the cultivation of internationality is proposed by analyzing the present outcome assessment system. By setting up performance scaled levels and specifying the target level for the performance criterion, the proposed model can help programs to demonstrate effectively that each of their graduates meets the required the program outcome levels. By allowing effective Continuous Quality Improvement(CQI) for the performance criterion, the model can help save operational expense associated with running of the program CQI. In addition, it is discussed that one of the most important aspect is logical and objective approaches when establishing the outcome assessment system. It is hoped that the proposed model can ultimately help to meet the program outcomes requirements in the engineering accreditation criteria.
Parenting or parenting behaviors has been a key subject during the last three decades. Studies on the parenting mainly focused on either the associations between mothers' parenting and child outcomes or variables predicting parenting behaviors. Regarding child outcomes, social-emotional development of children has been more frequently studied than their cognitive development. Also, the characteristics of parents, children, and contextual environments have received attention in predicting mothers' parenting behaviors. Recently, there have been attempts in identifying the processes that are hypothesized to mediate or moderate the relationships between parenting and developmental outcomes. Furthermore, the studies using longitudinal data have been increased as well. For a future direction, the age-specific and culturally sensitive measures assessing Korean mothers' parenting behaviors are needed. Research efforts and policies should be directed toward supporting parents and their children from diverse backgrounds in the rapidly changing Korean society.

This study was conducted to identify and analyze the educational needs for program outcomes in nursing students. Participants included 256 nursing students at K college, and a survey was conducted from October 30 to December 22, 2017. Data was analyzed with SPSS WIN 20.0 using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Borich's Needs Analysis, and the Locus for Focus Model. Results found that subjects recognized that the present level was high about 'Apply therapeutic communication skills,' 'Provide fundamental nursing skills' and 'Understanding nursing profession standards'. 'Provide fundamental nursing skills', 'Apply a nursing intervention', 'Understanding legal and ethical standards of nursing practice and implementation' were the most important sub-elements of program outcomes. In according with the Borich's needs value and the Locus for Focus Model, 'Apply a nursing intervention', 'Explain the importance of the role and cooperation within the healthcare team', 'Provide fundamental nursing skills', 'Execute the nursing process', 'Understanding the legal and ethical standards of nursing practice and implement' were identified as the top priorities of educational needs. Results of this study are expected to be used as basic data to develop outcome-based curriculum and nursing education programs.
The purpose of this paper are to evaluate the program outcome(PO) for mechanical engineering program at Chosun University, In order to achieve the objectives of this study, we analyze the evaluation system on measuring and analyzed methods of PO. We expect that the evaluation system of PO will help program members to efficiently manage the engineering program accreditation evaluations. This paper were to improve PO evaluation system throughout assessment tools, measurements and analysis of PO between current students and faculty. This study would be confined measurements, analysis and improvement of PO for current students, and faculty in this program.
Background: To determine whether the Health Partner Program is effective in training long-term cancer survivors to be health coaches. Materials and Methods: We randomly assigned cancer survivors who were selected through a rigorous screening process to either the Health Partner Program or the waiting-list control group. The program consisted of 8 weeks of training in health management, leadership, and coaching. At baseline, 8, and 16 weeks, we measured primary outcomes using the Seven Habit Profile (SHP), the Korean Leadership Coaching Competency Inventory (KCCI), Ed Diner's Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and the Posttraumatic Growth inventory (PTGI) and secondary outcomes using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), and the Medical Outcomes Study (MOS) short form 36-item questionnaire (SF-36). Results: We recruited 70 subjects and randomly assigned 34 to the intervention group. The Sharpen the Saw habit of the SHP increased significantly more in intervention group than in the control group (p=0.049), as did most PTGI factors. The intervention group also showed a significantly greater enhancement of vitality (p=0.015) and mental health (p=0.049) SF-36 scores but no improvement in KCCI, SWLS, HADS, or IES-R scores. The intervention group also showed a greater clinically meaningful improvement in the "Think Win-Win" of SHP (p=0.043) and in the personal strength score (p=0.025) and total score (p=0.015) of the PTGI. Conclusions: Long-term cancer survivors can benefit from the Health Partner Program to become health coaches.

Purpose: This study was done to identify the effects of a health diary program on fall related outcomes the low-income elderly women. Methods: The study was carried out with a nonequivalent control group with pretest-posttest design. The study was composed of two groups, each made up of 24 subjects: experimental group and control group. The subjects were low-income women aged over 65 years with osteoarthritis and both the experimental and control groups were made up of subjects with the same age profiles. The independent variable was the health diary program, and the dependent variables were fall related outcomes (fear of falling, fall-efficacy, knowledge of fall) difficulty of performing activity, and mood state. The health diary program was performed for 50 minutes each session and twice a week for 8 weeks. Data were collected before the health diary program 10 weeks after the beginning of the program. Results: The experimental group showed significant differences in knowledge of fall, fear of falling, and mood state compared to the control group. However there was no significant differences in difficulty of performing activity and fall efficacy. Conclusion: The results of this study may be used as part of an education to prevent falls for low-income elderly women with osteoarthritis.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify effects of action learning approaches on learning outcomes of students taking nursing management courses. Methods: The questionnaire surveys were completed between March 2011 and June 2012 by 109 undergraduate seniors in the nursing department of C University. Survey data were obtained 3 times: before, in and after the study of nursing management. The course consisted of lectures and clinical practices. Learning outcomes were measured through problem solving skills, team efficacy, and class satisfaction. Collected data were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA with the SPSS 20.0 program Results: Scores for problem solving skills (F=13.67, p<.001) and team efficacy (F=4.49, p=.012) showed statistically significant increases after the course. The scores also increased significantly after the lectures for 5 of 9 problem solving skill subscales: analysis skill, divergent thinking, decision making, assessment, feedback, and after the clinical practices for 2 subscales: divergent thinking, and execution and risk taking. Class satisfaction score also increased after both the lectures and the clinical practices. Conclusion: The findings from this study suggest that an action learning approaches for nursing management courses would be a useful teaching and learning method to achieve learning outcomes.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of a moderate-intensity, walking exercise program on the body composition, blood lipids and psychosocial outcomes in postmenopausal obese women. Methods: With a quasi-experimental pre- and post-test design, a total of 36 postmenopausal obese women was recruited in 2 metropolitan areas by convenience sampling. Sixteen women participated in 1 hour of moderate-intensity walking exercise 5 days per week for 3 months and 20 women did not. Cardiovascular risk factors include body composition and blood lipids. Body composition was measured as body mass index, % body fat, and waist/hip ratio; Blood lipids were measured with total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL and LDL; psychosocial outcomes were evaluated by self-esteem and depression. Results: Over 3 months, the score of self-esteem increased and depression decreased in the exercise group relative to the control group. However, there were no significant differences in body composition and blood lipids. Conclusions: This study suggests that 3 months of moderate-intensity exercise training can improve psychosocial outcomes but further studies are needed to replicate walking exercise on physiologic variables among postmenopausal obese women. These findings are of public health relevance and add a new facet to the growing literature on the health benefits of moderate exercise.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to analyze the effects of medical staffing level as bed-to-medical staff ratio on patient outcomes as length of stay (LOS) among hospitals in Korea. Methods: Two hundred and fifty one hospitals participated in the study between January and March 2008. Data for the study was requested by an electronic data interchange from the Health Insurance Review Agency in 2008. In data analysis, SPSS WIN 15.0 program was utilized for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. Results: The mean score for length of stay was 13.6 days. The mean of operating bed-to-nurse ratio was 7.93:1. The predicting factors for LOS were bed-to-nurse's aide ratio, bed-to doctor's ratio, severely ill patient rate, and hospital type. These factors explained 28.9% of the variance in patient outcomes. Conclusion: This study results indicate that the relationship between medical staffing level and patient outcomes is important in the improvement of the quality of patient care. Thus, improvements in the quality of the nurse practice environment could improve patient outcomes for hospitalized patients.
Objectives: The challenging issue of public health program is to strengthen partnership and network between health resources. This study identified the structure and characteristics of school health program network. Methods: In this paper we collected data from schools and organizations in 4 local communities in 2014 that participated to school health program. Using social network analysis techniques we measured the number of component, diameter, density, average degree, node centralization for each network. Results: We determined that networks shared some common organizational structure such as less density, low average degree, and short diameter. Networks were dominated by the health center, and directions of collaborations between nodes were mostly one-way. Conclusions: These findings can help to depict the network of school health program. The further research is necessary to define causal relationship between network effectiveness and public health outcomes.
