Inspection and shape measurement of three-dimensional objects are widely needed in industries for quality monitoring and control. Recently the shape measurement using interferometric principle is found to be a successful methodology among other visual or optical technologies. Especially, the measuring method using wavelength scanning interferometer(WSI) has a great advantage in comparison with other conventional jnterferometric methods in that the absolute distance from the reference surface can be directly obtained from the amount of jnterferometric phase change. However, the measurement methods using WSI proposed by other researchers have low measurement resolution so far because they can't measure fractional phase change. To avoid this shortcoming we propose a new algorithm in this paper, which can obtain a small amount of even fractional phase change by sinusoidal function fitting. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed sinusoidal function fitting algorithm, a series of measuring experiments are conducted for discontinuously shaped specimens which have various height. The proposed algorithm shows much more enhanced measurement resolution than other existing conventional algorithms such as zero crossing algorithm and Fourier transform algorithm.

The purpose of this study was to determined the effects of reciprocal inhibition on spatial-temporal gait parameters in spastic hemiplegic patients through GaitRite system. The subjects were consisted 45 patients who had spastic hemiplegia due to stroke. All subjects randomly assigned to 3 group : manual reciprocal inhibition program group(manual group), neuromuscular electrical stimulation group(NMES group) and control group. The manual group received voluntary isometric contraction of pre-tibia muscle. The NMES group received neuromuscular electrical stimulation on tibialis anterior. The control group was not recieved any therapeutic intervention. Before and after experiments, spatial-temporal gait parameters and functional ambulatory profile was measure in all patients. The data of 30 patients who complete experimental course were statistically analysed. The results of this study were as following : 1. The percentage of change of functional ambulatory profile were markedly increased in manual group but statistically non significant(p>.01). 2. The percentage of change of gait velocity and cadence were markedly increased in manual group but statistically non significant(p>.01). 3. Asymmetry ratio of gait elements were more improved in manual group but statistically non significant(p>.01). 4. There were no statistical difference between pre-test and post-test with functional ambulatory profile, gait velocity, cadence and asymmetry ratios in NMES group(p>.01). 5. There were no statistical difference between pre-test and post-test with unctional ambulatory profile, gait velocity, cadence and asymmetry ratios in control group(p>.01). In conclusion, the present results revealed that reciprocal inhibition which produced by voluntary isometric contraction of pre-tibia muscle can be improved spatial-temporal gait parameters including functional ambulatory profile in hemiplegic patients. Therefore, reciprocal inhibition is useful to improve functional activities in hemiplegic patient. Further study should be done to analyze the effects of intervention duration of reciprocal inhibition, appropriate muscle contraction, optimal time to apply the reciprocal inhibition in more long period.
Effects of extracts obtained from the flowers of Elsholtzia splendens on the serum lipid profile and hepatotoxicity in mice were investigated. Female ICR mice were given E. splendens ethanolic extract (ESEs) orally at a dose of 10 or 50 mg/kg BW for 50 days. Significant dose-dependent decreases in triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol of serum were observed. In addition, ESEs prolonged the lag-time of LDL oxidation in vitro. In the serum of ICE mice given ESEs orally at 10 and 50 mg/kg BW, the serum levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) increased significantly, while total protein, albumin, creatinine, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and total bilirubin did not change. Therefore, ESEs may be beneficial to human health, although it has some hepatotoxicity.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the chronologic changes of the soft tissue profile in 6 to 11 years children.
The author analyzed 174 cephalometric roentgenograms of 13 boys and 16 girls taken from the ages of 6 to 11 to assess the growth changes of the soft tissue profile.
The results were obtained as follow:
1. Means, standard deviation and coefficient of variation of children were obtained.
2. Items which showed difference between males and females in longitudinal study were prn.
Sn. A', and Ls that were greater than females variation.
3. With age, thickness of the soft tissue were increased except Ls.
4. Nasolabial angle and facial convexity had no significant change with age and sex.

A cam ring gear (CRG) system based on a hypotrochoid curve consists of a pinion with roller teeth and its conjugated internal CRG. In this study, we investigated contact forces, contact stresses, and load stress factors to predict the surface pitting life using an exact CRG profile by introducing the profile modification coefficient. The results show that the pitting life can be extended significantly by increasing the profile modification coefficient without any other change of parameters in the CRG system.
A counter gear transmits the rotation angle, so the angular velocity ratio of the gear does not necessarily need to be constant in the meshing process. As a pinion has a small number of teeth when combined with an internal gear for counters, tooth interference can occur with the use of an involute curve. This paper introduces circular arcs that represent a tooth profile and fillet for the profile design of a pinion through the combination of arcs with lines. The straight line of a rack tooth represents the profile of a mating internal gear. Thus, the circular arc and line maintain contact during the rotation of the counter gear. This paper presents an analysis of the meshing of the circular arc tooth and rack tooth along with the properties of the counter gear, such as the change in rotational velocity and amount of backlash. The contact ratio of the counter gear is 1 because the tooth contact occurs between circular arcs and line. The initial position of tooth contact, which denotes the simultaneous contact of two teeth, is found. As the rotation of the pinion, only one tooth keeps the contact situation. This meshing property is analyzed by the geometrical constraints of the tooth profile in contact and the results are presented as graphical diagrams in which tooth-arc movements are superimposed.
We report the application of time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) to the calculation of potential energy profile relevant to the excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) processes in title molecules. The TDDFT single point energy calculations along the reaction path have been performed using the CIS optimized structure in the excited state. In addition to the Stokes shifts, the transition energies including absorption, fluorescence, and 0-0 transition are estimated from the TDDFT potential energy profiles along the proton transfer coordinate. The excited state TDDFT potential energy profile of SA and 3ASA resulted in very flat function of the OH distance in the range ROH = 1.0-1.6 A, in contrast to the relatively deep single minimum function in the ground state. Furthermore, we obtained very shallow double minima in the excited state potential energy profile of SA and 3ASA in contrast to the single minimum observed in the previous work. The change of potential energy profile along the reaction path induced by the substitution of electron donating groups (-NH2 and -OCH3) at different sites has been investigated. Substitution at para position with respect to the phenolic OH group showed strong suppression of excited state proton dislocation compared with unsubstitued SA, while substitution at ortho position hardly affected the shape of the ESIPT curve. The TDDFT results are discussed in comparison with those of CASPT2 method.

This present paper describes a mathematical model of profile shifted elliptical gears, and this model is based on the concepts of envelope theory and conjugate geometry between the blank and the straight-sided rack cutter. The geometric model of the rack cutter includes working regions generating involute curves and fillets for trocoidal curves, and furthermore the addendum modified coeff. is considered for avoiding undercutting. The addendum modified coeff. is changed linearly along with pitch curves and must be the same absolute value at both major semi-axis and minor semi-axis. If undercutting is at all pronounced, the undercut tooth not only are weakened in strength, but lose a small portion of the involute adjacent to the base circle, then this loss of involute may cause a serious reduction in the length of contact. A very effective method of avoiding undercutting is to use the so-called profile shifted gearing. Non-undercutting condition is examined with the change of eccentricity and addendum modified coeff. in elliptical gears and then the minimum number of tooth is proposed not to gernerate undercutting phenomenon.

A repeated impregnation and carbonization process was introduced to product high-density woodceramics using a resin impregnation board. The density profile were measured to further confirm morphologically and structurally occurred changes of one-time and two-time phenolic resin-treated and carbonized woodceramics. After the two-time carbonization of the products, the minimum, average and maximum densities increased more than those of the one-time carbonized woodceramics, and the increase of density profile. Therefore, it is considered that the preparation of uniformed woodceramics with high-density and low density dissipation can be produced by a repeated impregnation and carbonization).
