The purpose of this study was to examine the variation in professors' satisfaction with faculty development programs and in their teaching efficacy according to their demographic characteristics and the rate of participation in faculty development programs in a medical school. The data were collected from 59 faculty members who participated in the Professor's Seminar. The questionnaire consisted of three parts: general background of the respondent; satisfaction with the faculty development program; and teaching efficacy. The data were analyzed by methods of descriptive analysis, analysis of variance, and the Mann-Whitney U-test. The program satisfaction of faculty members was significantly different by the years of educational career but it was not different by job status, specialty, gender, and the participation level in faculty programs. The faculty members' teaching efficacy differed significantly by gender and the participation level in faculty programs, while it did not differ by educational career, job status, or specialty. The results of this study suggest that various faculty programs should be developed to increase the satisfaction level of different groups of faculty members, and that they should be more focused on teaching efficacy, as it is considered to be one of the most effective way to increase the quality of education.
In this paper, the heat transfer characteristics of a self-oscillating heat pipe are experimentally investigated for the effect of various working fluid fill charge ratios and heat loads. The characteristics of temperature oscillations of the working fluid are also analysed based on chaotic dynamics. The heat pipe is composed of a heating section, a cooling section and an adiabatic section, and has a 0.002m internal diameter, a 0.34m length in each turn and consists of 19 turns. The heating and the cooling portion of each turn has a length of 70mm. A series of experiments was carried out to measure the temperature distributions and the pressure variations of the heat pipe. Furthermore, heat transfer performance, effective thermal conductivity, boiling heat transfer and condensation heat transfer coefficients are calculated for various operating conditions. Experimental results show the efficacy of this type of heat pipe.

Conclusions : It is necessary to activates the social network from friends and to develop an effective program to improve career attitude maturity of students with major in health administration considering these findings.
This study has attempted to investigate correlations among variables against 366 college students from cosmetology-related departments in Busan and figure out the effects of the variables which have an effect on adaptation to college life. First, in terms of 'college life stress', a positive correlation was observed with 'depression' while a negative correlation was found with 'adaptation to college life'. As 'social support' increased, 'self-efficacy' and 'adaptation to college life' were high as well. However, 'depression' was low. On the contrary, 'self-efficacy' revealed a negative correlation with 'depression' but a positive correlation with 'adaptation to college life'. Second, as peer support and professor support increased, and academic performance and value-related problems and depression decreased, 'adaptation to college life' was satisfying. Third, in terms of the effect of 'adaptation to academic achievements', 'academic matters' was the highest. In terms of the effect of social adaptation, 'peer support' was the highest. In terms of the effect of emotional and physical adaptations, 'depression' was the highest. In terms of the effect of attachment to college, 'professor issues' were the highest.
The objective of this study was to prepare the base on which Korean food can become a globally important health food. A focus group interview was conducted with a nutritionist and professor of food and nutrition to select the Korean food for a healthy menu. Five main categories were established to select a healthy menu based on the Korean food philosophy, including Korean food made from beans, Korean food made using fermentation, Korean food made using various colors, Korean food with high dietary fiber, and Korean food made with abundant unsaturated fatty acids. The 52 healthy menu items selected based on these standards were composed of easily available food materials. The efficacy of food materials described in Sikryochanyo, the traditional Chosun dietary therapy, was checked to verify the efficacy of this healthy menu. This study demonstrated that basic materials can be efficiently used to enable citizens to select Korean food as an international health food. As such, the results can be utilized to publicize Korean food as a healthy food.

Chinese medicine is a precious treasure inherited from ancient ancestors. It is accredited for the prosperous growth of the Chinese nations. However, the descriptions of the herbs in the ancient herbal are not in detail and the great numbers of herbs used which grows in wide geographic areas together with various local folk names, new substitutes and new folk medicines had increased, many Chinese herbs are composed of herbs that are labeled with identical names but actually are of different origins and different grades. Similar situation had occurred in China, japan and Korea In Taiwan, misused Chinese crude drugs are also very common in the past. This phenomenon had caused a lot of confusion and had great influence the clinical efficacy of the treatment. In the past, Professor Hong Yen Hsu, Na Chi, Woei Song Kan and Kung Yin Yen had studied the origins of Chinese crude drugs in Taiwan based on the morphological identification and found that the origins of Ma-Tou-Ling, Pu-Kung-Yin, Tu-Chung, Wang-Pu-Liu-Hsing, Pan-lan-Ken, Niu-Chi, Fang-Chi, Huang-Chi, PienHsiu and Sha Wan-Tzi are different from that of the species used in mainland China. In order to assure the quality and clinical efficacy of the crude drugs, besides the traditional morphological methods, we bad recently combined modem chemical and pharma-cological methods to assess drug quality. Drugs that have been evaluated without effects should be abandoned. The species of those commonly misued crude drugs used in compound formula preparations are also identified Based on the pharmacological results, a suitable species is recommended so as to improve the clinical efficacy of those preparations. In this paper, we like to report our recent studies on Niu Chi(Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, Cyathulae Radix and Strobilanthis Radix). Fang-Chi(Arstolochiae Fangchi Radix, Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix and Cocculus Radix) and Huang-Chi(Astragali Radix and Hedysari Radix) using comparative pharmacognosy methods.
