A simple and sensitive analytical method was developed using gas chromatography with electron capture detector (GC-ECD) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for determination of Picoxystrobin in agricultural products (apple, hulled rice, mushroom, pepper, soybean, and mandarin). Picoxystrobin residues were extracted with acetonitrile, partitioned with saline water, and then they were cleaned up on a florisil solid-phase extraction (SPE) cartridge to obtain an extract suitable for analysis by GC-ECD and GC-MS. The method was validated using 6 agricultural product samples spiked with Picoxystrobin at different concentration levels (0.02, 0.05 and 0.5 mg/L). Average recoveries of Picoxystrobin (using each concentration three replicates) ranged 64.0~98.3% with relative standard deviations less than 10%, calibration solutions concentration in the range 0.1~5 mg/L, and limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were 0.005 and 0.02 mg/L, respectively. The result showed that the developed analytical method is suitable for Picoxystrobin determination in agricultural products.
This paper presents a brief historical review of various attempts to estimate the age of the Earth, and reappraises the study of Patterson (1956) which revealed for the first time that the age of the Earth is $4550{\pm}70Ma$ by measuring Pb isotope ratios of several meteorites and a marine sediment. The standard model for the planetary formation of early solar system is: formation of solid particles condensed from the cooling of hot nebular gas -> formation of planet-sized bodies by accretion of those solid particles. The Moon is supposed to have formed from the accretion of the relicts produced by the collision of proto-Earth with Mars-sized body. It is not easy to pinpoint the age of the Earth, considering the series of events related to the formation of the Earth. So, I propose that the collision age as that of the Earth, since the present status of the Earth is thought to be the direct product of the collision. According to the previous studies, the collision age can be broadly constrained between the age ($4567.30{\pm}0.16Ma$) of the earliest condensates (CAI, calcium-aluminum rich inclusion) of the nebula gas, i.e., the age of the solar system, and the oldest age ($4,456{\pm}40Ma$) among rocks and minerals of the Earth and the Moon. We need more precise estimation of the collision age, since it is important in estimating time scale for the formation of planet-size body and in revealing thermal evolution of magma oceans of the Earth and the Moon presumably developed right after the collision.

A larger energy consumption and concentration of population induced green house gas glowing and heat island effect in the urban space. Roof green system was a effect method to reduce green house gas and heat concentration in the city. Therefore, construction of this system was increasing. Most of lightweight soil used in roof green system was perlite, but this caused dust and skin disease. So it needed to develop another new lightweight soli for roof green system. Meanwhile, a thermoelectric power plant generated bottom ash as a by-product. According to previous research, bottom ash could be used for artificial lightweight soil with 60 wt% of mixing rate. But this study was proceed to develop a artificial lightweight soil using bottom ash with higher mixing rate by 65 wt% and different organic ingredients. First, physical and chemical properties of bottom ash was investigated. Then test according to landscaping design standard was proceeded for various artificial lightweight soil mix types using bottom ash, bark, compost and coco peat. As a result, the artificial lightweight soil with 65% of bottom ash, 30% of bark and 5% of compost was suitable for low and middle range of soil standard.

In this study, the mechanical properties and self-healing performance of cement mortar containing clinker binder, calcium sulfoaluminate(CSA), and sodium sulfate(Na2SO4) were evaluated. The mechanical properties of cement mortar were investigated by measuring compressive strength and flexural strength, and the healing performance was evaluated through hydrostatic water permeability test and gas diffusion test. In addition, the healing products precipitated in the cracks were visually observed through an optical microscope and a scanning electron microscope(SEM). As a result, the incorporation of the clinker binder-based inorganic additives improved the initial and 28-day strength by about 20 %. Depending on the healing performance evaluation method, there was a difference in the healing rate, and the healing rate showed a tendency to be underestimated. Nevertheless, CaCO3 was precipitated as the main healing product inside the 0.3 mm crack when the inorganic additives were mixed with cement mortar, improving the self-healing performance.

Recently, each country has been moving to introduce an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) to regulate greenhouse gas emissions. The LCA is a mean of measuring and evaluating greenhouse gas emissions generated over the entire life cycle of a vehicle. Reliable data for each electric vehicle component is needed to increase the reliability of the LCA results. To this end, studies on life cycle evaluation models using blockchain technology have been conducted. However, in the existing model, key product information is exposed to other participants. And each time parts data information is updated, it must be recorded in the blockchain ledger in the form of a transaction, which is inefficient. In this paper, we proposed a DID(Decentralized Identity)-based data collection model for LCA to collect vehicle component data and verify its validity effectively. The proposed model increases the reliability of the LCA by ensuring the validity and integrity of the collected data and verifying the source of the data. The proposed model guarantees the validity and integrity of collected data. As only user authentication information is shared on the blockchain ledger, the model prevents indiscriminate exposure of data and efficiently verifies and updates the source of data.
Renewable energy refers to solar energy, biomass energy, hydrogen energy, wind power, fuel cell, coal liquefaction and vaporization, marine energy, waste energy, and liquidity fuel made out of byproduct of geothermal heat, hydrogen and coal; it excludes energy based on coal, oil, nuclear energy and natural gas. Developed countries have recognized the importance of these energies and thus have set the mid to long term plans to develop and commercialize the technology and supported them with drastic political and financial measures. Considering the growing recognition to the field, it is necessary to analysis up-to-now achievement of the government's related projects, in the standards of type of renewable energy, management of sectional goals, and its commercialization. Korean government is chiefly following suit the USA and British policies of developing and distributing renewable energy. However, unlike Japan which is in the lead role in solar rays industry, it still lacks in state-directed support, participation of enterprises and social recognition. The research regarding renewable energy has mainly examinedthe state of supply of each technology and suitability of specific region for applying the technology. The evaluation shows that the research has been focused on supply and demand of renewable as well as general energy and solution for the enhancement of supply capacity in certain area. However, in-depth study for commercialization and the increase of capacity in industry followed by development of the technology is still inadequate. 'Cost-benefit model for each energy source' is used in analysis of technology development of renewable energy and quantitative and macro economical effects of its commercialization in order to foresee following expand in related industries and increase in added value. First, Investment on the renewable energy technology development is in direct proportion both to the product and growth, but product shows slightly higher index under the same amount of R&D investment than growth. It indicates that advance in technology greatly influences the final product, the energy growth. Moreover, while R&D investment on renewable energy product as well as the government funds included in the investment have proportionate influence on the renewable energy growth, private investment in the total amount invested has reciprocal influence. This statistic shows that research and development is mainly driven by government funds rather than private investment. Finally, while R&D investment on renewable energy growth affects proportionately, government funds and private investment shows no direct relations, which indicates that the effects of research and development on renewable energy do not affect government funds or private investment. All of the results signify that although it is important to have government policy in technology development and commercialization, private investment and active participation of enterprises are the key to the success in the industry.

The effect of gas sparging on continuous fermentative $H_2$ production was investigated using external gases ($N_2$, $CO_2$) with various flow rates (100, 200, 300, 400 ml/min). Gas sparging showed a higher $H_2$ yield than no sparging, indicating that the decrease of $H_2$ partial pressure by gas sparging had a good effect on $H_2$ fermentation. Especially, $CO_2$ sparging was more effective in the reactor performance than $N_2$ sparging. The composition of butyrate, the main metabolic product of $H_2$ fermentation by Clostridium sp., was much higher in $CO_2$ sparging. $H_2$ production increased with increasing flow rate only in $CO_2$ sparging. The best performance was obtained by $CO_2$ sparging at 300 ml/min, resulting in the highest $H_2$ yield of 1.65 mol $H_2/mol$ hexoseconsumed and the maximum $H_2$ production of 6.77 L $H_2/g$ VSS/day. Compared to $N_2$ sparging, there could be another beneficial effect in $CO_2$ sparging apart from lowering down the $H_2$ partial pressure. High partial pressure of $CO_2$ had little effect on $H_2$ producing bacteria but inhibitory effect on other microorganisms like lactic acid bacteria and acetogens which were competitive with $H_2$ producing bacteria.
Methanol synthesized from renewable hydrogen and captured CO2 has recently attracted great interest as a sustainable energy carrier for large-scale renewable energy storage. In this study, molten carbonate fuel cell's performance was investigated with the direct conversion of methanol into syngas inside the anode chamber of the cell. The internal reforming of methanol may significantly improve system efficiency since the heat generated from the electrochemical reaction can be used directly for the endothermic reforming reaction. The porous Ni-10 wt%Cr anode was sufficient for the methanol steam reforming reaction under the fuel cell operating condition. The direct supply of methanol into the anode chamber resulted in somewhat lower cell performance, especially at high current density. Recycling of the product gas into the anode gas inlet significantly improved the cell performance. The analysis based on material balance revealed that, with increasing current density and gas recycling ratio, the methanol steam reforming reaction rate likewise increased. A methanol conversion more significant than 90% was achieved with gas recycling. The results showed the feasibility of electricity and syngas co-production using the molten carbonate fuel cell. Further research is needed to optimize the fuel cell operating conditions for simultaneous production of electricity and syngas, considering both material and energy balances in the fuel cell.
This study focuses on the development of the liquid air production process that uses LNG (liquefied natural gas) cold energy which usually wasted during the regasification stage. The liquid air can be transported to the LNG exporter, and it can be utilized as the cold source to replace certain amount of refrigerant for the natural gas liquefaction. Therefore, the condition of the liquid air has to satisfy the available pressure of LNG storage tank. To satisfy pressure constraint of the membrane type LNG tank, proposed process is designed to produce liquid air at 1.3bar. In proposed process, the air is precooled by heat exchange with LNG and subcooled by nitrogen refrigeration cycle. When the amount of transported liquid air is as large as the capacity of the LNG carrier, it could be economical in terms of the transportation cost. In addition, larger liquid air can give more cold energy that can be used in natural gas liquefaction plant. To analyze the effect of the liquid air production amount, under the same LNG supply condition, the proposed process is simulated under 3 different air flow rate: 0.50 kg/s, 0.75 kg/s, 1.00 kg/s, correspond to Case1, Case2, and Case3, respectively. Each case was analyzed thermodynamically and economically. It shows a tendency that the more liquid air production, the more energy demanded per same mass of product as Case3 is 0.18kWh higher than Base case. In consequence the production cost per 1 kg liquid air in Case3 was $0.0172 higher. However, as liquid air production increases, the transportation cost per 1 kg liquid air has reduced by $0.0395. In terms of overall cost, Case 3 confirmed that liquid air can be produced and transported with $0.0223 less per kilogram than Base case.
Given the evolution of High-Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor(HTGR) designs, the source terms for licensing must be developed. There are three potential source terms: fission products, actinides in the fuel and tritium in the coolant. It is necessary to provide first an inventory of the source terms under normal operations. An analysis of source terms has yet to be performed for HTGRs. The previous code, which can estimate the inventory of the source terms for LWRs, cannot be used for HTGRs because the general data of a typical neutron cross-section and flux has not been developed. Thus, this paper uses a combination of the MCNP, ORIGEN, and MONTETEBURNS codes for an estimation of the source terms. A method in which the HTR-10 core is constructed using the unit lattice of a body-centered cubic is developed for core modeling. Based on this modeling method by MCNP, the generation of fission products, actinides and tritium with an increase in the burnup ratio is simulated. The model developed by MCNP appears feasible through a comparison with models developed in previous studies. Continuous fuel management is divided into five periods for the feeding and discharging of fuel pebbles. This discrete fuel management scheme is employed using the MONTEBURNS code. Finally, the work is investigated for 22 isotope fission products of nuclides, 22 actinides in the core, and tritium in the coolant. The activities are mainly distributed within the range of $10^{15}{\sim}10^{17}$ Bq in the equilibrium core of HTR-10. The results appear to be highly probable, and they would be informative when the spent fuel of HTGRs is taken into account. The tritium inventory in the primary coolant is also taken into account without a helium purification system. This article can lay a foundation for future work on analyses of source terms as a platform for safety assessment in HTGRs.
